  • CSS .Hover Image Loading Slow

    - by Splashlin
    I have a submit button that changes when the user hovers his mouse over it. Right now the image is taking a while to load and you get a half second where there is white screen instead of the other button. Is there anyway to improve this using just CSS and HTML or do I need to do some JS work?

  • jqtransform and collapsed DIV

    - by Marco
    Hello, I am using a jQuery plugin called: jqtransform This plugin uses JavaScript to apply CSS styles to form elements. The problem that I have consists in the following scenario: I’m building a search page, with a advanced search option. When the page loads, the div called “advancedSearch” is hidden, and it will only show if the user clicks a element. Inside the div#advancedSearch I have several form elements. However, if I hide the div#advancedSearch with the CSS style: “diplay:none;”, the jqtransform plugin doesn’t work correctly with the elements that are hidden. So my solution was to hide the div#advancedsearch with JavaScript. This actually works, and it does not matter if it’s done after the document is ready or not. But… with the JavaScript solution, the div#advancedSearch stays visible for a couple of milliseconds… which is visually annoying. So I was wondering if the solution to this problem would be in the CSS, or in correcting the jqtransform plugin, or even in finding a way to immediately hide the div#advancedSearch with JS making it immediately hidden. UPDATE 1 After jeerose comment I decided to place here my function (please note that the <%= % are ASP.Net tags, that I use to get the images path) $('.toggleAdvancedSearch').click(function() { $('#advancedSearchWrap').slideToggle(250); $('form.jqtransform').jqTransform({ imgPath: '<%= ResolveClientUrl("~/masterpages/img/jqtransform/") %>' }); return false; }); UPDATE 2 To test the problem, I did the following: Added another element to the page, with the ID “applyStyle”, and onClick I call the $('form').jqTransform(); Disabled the the $('form').jqTransform(); from the load of the page. If I press the a#applyStyle, before expanding the div#advancedSearch I get the same problem that I had. But if I expand the the div#advancedSearch and press the the a#applyStyle after, the problem is solved. However, if I run the page with the $('form').jqTransform(); function on the load, I cannot reapply it after with the pressing of the a#applyStyle. I think that the solution could be: disabling the all the elements that are inside the div#advancedSearch, and on the same function that expands the div, make It also apply the styles to the elements that are inside the div#advancedSearch. However, I don’t know how to do this (nether if this will work). PS: This seems to be a known issue with the plugin, but I cannot wait indefinitely for a solution.

  • CSS: Making two transparent images overlapping

    - by Pierre
    Hi all, I'm trying to make two transparent images (having the same size/dimension ) overlapping into a div at their top left corner. I tried: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <body> <div style="margin:20px;"> <div id="main" style="overflow:hidden;background-color:red;width:400px;height:400px;border:3px solid blue;"> <img src="myimage1.png" style="position:relative;top:0px;left:0px;z-index:0;"/> <img src="myimage2.png" style="position:relative;top:0px;left:0px;z-index:10;"/> </div> </div> </body> </html> but it doesn't work, the two pictures are concatenated into the parent div. Thanks for your help !

  • jQuery tooltips on a dynamically generated page.

    - by Kyle Sevenoaks
    Him I'm trying to add a jQuery tooltip to a dynamically generated list, the text I want to display the tooltip on is in a table, so my CSS tooltip doesn't work: CSS tooltip. I tried to add this jQuery tooltip to the page, it works on my local test page, but I think the problem has something to do with uniqur ids, and I'm not sure how to implement the bind all function explained there: "To bind all of the targets to their corresponding content, it takes only one line: $(".tooltip-target").ezpz_tooltip(); Calling ezpz_tooltip() on a class will bind the hover event to each element, and because of the naming convention it will know which content to display." Can someone help me to understand what exactly I have to do to make this work on a dynamic page? The page is Euroworker's checkout product page. (You'll have to add some items to the basket, click the home button on the left of the bnav bar and click the little white button "kjøp" then the orange button "handlevogn".) Thanks.

How do I make it so this script will animate in and out (with a fade?) $(document).ready(function() { $('#gallery a').bind('mouseover', function(){ $(this).parent('li').css({position:'relative'}); var img = $(this).children('img'); $('<div />').text(' ').css({ 'height': img.height(), 'width': img.width(), 'background-color': 'orange', 'position': 'absolute', 'top': 0, 'left': 0, 'opacity': 0.5 }).bind('mouseout', function(){ $(this).remove(); }).insertAfter(this); }); });

    Hi css experts I'm having a problem with my site http://artygirl.co.uk/pixie/about/ I can't seem to get the footer to automatically stick to the bottom of the browser, and show the rest of my background. Is there a solution better than using position:fixed or absolute? I think there are possibly other styles over-riding some tests I do in firebug. Thanks for your help Regards Judi

  • CSS: div text wrap around floated div

    - by Thildemar
    I am trying to create a site that has a fixed width content div and a floating div in the blank space on the right of the page, like so: <html> <div style="width:150px;float:right;border:thin black solid"> Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nibh euismod tincidunt ut laoreet dolore magna aliquam erat volutpat. </div> </html> This works fine, but when the page is re sized too small either the left div jumps down or the text within it does not start wrapping around the right div until its about halfway through it. I would like the test within the left div to wrap around the float is the page width is too small. What am I missing??

  • CSS rgba Background Color Validation

    - by SHiNKiROU
    I found a weird CSS validation result: when rgba() is used to background, it does not validate, however, the workaround is rgba() for background-color. Why that rule exists? Is it a validator's bug? Try to validate the following there, and you can see the result: div { background: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5); } and div { background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5); }

  • Div that appears behind other. How to avoid that behaivor?

    - by Casidiablo
    Hello there... I'm using JQuery for this. The problem is that, when I drag an object from the side bar, the DIV that I'm dragging appears behind the main area, thus it looks really bad. I took a screenshot of the problem: http://i.imgur.com/Xu4GM.png The div I'm dragging has this CSS: .reporte_arrastrado{ width: 150px; height: 60px; background-color: silver; background-image: url(chart.png); background-position: left center; background-repeat: no-repeat; padding: 10px 0 10px 26px; position:relative; } And, the one that represents the main area has this CSS: #tabs{ position:relative; } That's it... I've read some answers here, and people always suggest to set the position property to relative. But, it does not work for me. Thanks for reading.

  • Disable Eclipse warning about generated html?

    - by Chadwick
    When developing Flex projects, Eclipse gives warnings about the default index.html file generated by Flex Builder. The file is in the 'target' folder (or "generated artifacts" folder. Yes, I'm also using Maven). Can I eliminate or disable this warning? The code which generates the warning is below, though I would definitely prefer not changing the html - as I say this is the template suggested by Adobe. Eclipse warns of "Undefined attribute name (xxx)" for scroll on the body tag, and most of the embed attributes. There is no DOCTYPE declaration in the html file. <html lang="en"> ... <body scroll="no"> ... <embed src="myswf.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#869ca7" width="100%" height="100%" name="myswf-flex" align="middle" play="true" loop="false" quality="high" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer"> </embed> ...

  • Problem with IE when using display:block for links

    - by Waleed Eissa
    This is my HTML: <div id="links"> <a href="">Link 1</a> <a href="">Link 2</a> <a href="">Link 3</a> <a href="">Link 4</a> </div> And these are the CSS styles: #links { position: absolute; border: 1px solid #000; } #links a { display: block; } #links a:hover { background-color: #CCC; } This displays a list of links, the problem is that in IE, I can only click a link by directly clicking the text link, which is not the case with other browsers (where you can click anywhere whether the text link or anywhere else as long as it's in the link block), is there any fix for that (with only CSS, no javascript)? Please note that I don't want to specify a width for the links or the div.

  • Presentation Issue in an Unordered List

    - by phreeskier
    I'm having an issue with correctly presenting items in an unordered list. The labels are floating left and the related spans that are long in length are wrapping and showing below the label. I need a solution that keeps the related spans in their respective columns. In other words, I don't want long spans to show under the labels. What property can I take advantage of so that I get the desired layout in all of the popular browsers, including IE6? Thanks in advance for the help. My code is as follows: <ul> <li> <label>Name</label> <span><%= Html.Encode(Model.Name) %></span> </li> <li> <label>Entity</label> <span><%= Html.Encode(Model.Entity) %></span> </li> <li> <label>Phone</label> <span><%= Html.Encode(Model.Phone) %></span> </li> </ul> My CSS styling is as follows: ul { display:block; list-style-type:none; margin:0; padding:0; } ul li label { float:left; width:100px; }

  • CSS Collapsing/Hiding divs with no data in <span>

    - by Chance
    I am trying to display an address which includes the following information: Title, division, address1, address2, town/state/zip, and country (5 seperate lines worth of data). The problem is sometimes the company may only have the title, address1, and town/state/zip yet other times it may be all but address2. This is determined upon a db record request server side. Therefore how can I make my output look proper when some of my labels will be blank? I would like div's that contain an empty span to be essentially collapsed/removed. My only idea of how was to use jquery and a selector to find all divs with blank spans (since thats all an asp.net label really is) and then remove those divs however this seems like such bad form. Is there any way to do this with css? Possible Code would be something like: $('span:empty:only-child').parent('div').remove(); Picture Examples (Ignore spacing/indentation issues which I will fix) Missing Division, Address2, and Country All Possible Fields The Html <asp:Label runat="server" ID="lblBillingAddressHeader" CssClass="lblBillingAddressHeader" Text="Billing Address:" /> <div style="position:relative; top:150px; left: 113px;"> <div class="test"> <asp:Label runat="server" ID="lblBillingDivision" CssClass="lblBillingShippingDivisionFont" /> </div> <div class="test"> <asp:Label runat="server" ID="lblBillingAddress" CssClass="lblBillingShippingFont" /> </div> <div class="test"> <asp:Label runat="server" ID="lblBillingAddress2" CssClass="lblBillingShippingFont" /> </div> <div class="test"> <asp:Label runat="server" ID="lblBillingAddress3" CssClass="lblBillingShippingFont" /> </div> <div class="test"> <asp:Label runat="server" ID="lblBillingAddress4" CssClass="lblBillingShippingFont" /> </div> </div> The CSS .test { position: relative; top: 0px; left: 0px; height: 12px; width: 300px; } .lblBillingShippingDivisionFont { font-size: small; font-weight: bold; } .lblBillingShippingFont { font-size: 10.6px; }

  • Simple 2 column CSS layout with nested divs

    - by Dan
    Hello, I have good familiarity with CSS but for some reason I am unable to achieve the result I want in this case. Here is the link to my test site http://danberinger.com/test.html Keep in mind that I want a 2 column layout and that the background wrapper color (gray) is not showing. Instead the body background color image is being put in place of where the wrapper background should be. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
