But I still have an issue of not able to click and drag ie Clicking the leftmouse button and dragging with another finger. It doesn't move! Maybe it doesn't detect the 2nd finger. When I check the capabilities of my Synaptics touchpad by using xinput list-props "SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad"|grep Capabilities I get the following output: Synaptics Capabilities (304): 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 Please help me out.

• Need help identiying a nasty rootkit in Windows

  I have a nasty rootkit that not tools seem to be able to idenity. I know for sure it's a rootkit, but I can figure out which rootkit it is. Here's what I gathered so far: It creates multiple copies of itself in %HOME%\Local Settings\Temp with names like Q.EXE, IAJARZ.exe, etc., and install them as hidden services. These EXE have SysInternals identifiers in them so they're definitely rootkits. It hooked very deep in the system, including file read/write, security policies, registry read/write, and possibly WinSock/TCP/IP. When going to Sophos.com to download their software, the rootkit inject something called Microsoft Ajax Tootkit into the page, which injects code into the email submission form in order to redirect it. (EDIT: I might have panicked. Looks like Sophos does use an AJAZ email form, their form is just broken on Chrome so it looked like a mail form injection attack, the link is http://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/virus-removal-tool/download.aspx ) Super-Antispyware found a lot of spyware cookies, in the name of .kaspersky.2o7.net, etc. (just chedk 2o7.net, looks like it's a legit ad company) I tried comparing DNS lookup from the infected systems and from system in other physical locations, no DNS redirections it seems. I used dd to copy the MBR and compared it with the MBR provided by ms-sys package, no differences so it's not infecting MBR. No antivirus or rootkit scanner be able to identify it. Most of them can't even find it. I tried scanning, in-situ (normal mode), in safe mode, and boot to linux live CD. Scanners used: Avast, Sophos anti rootkit, Kasersky TDSSKiller, GMER, RootkitRevealer, and many others. Kaspersky reported some unsigned system files that ought to be signed (e.g. tcpip.sys), and reported a number of MD5 mismatches. But otherwise couldn't identify anything based on signature. When running Sysinternal RootkitRevealer and Sophos AntiRootkit, CPU usage goes up to 100% and gets stucked. The Rootkit is blocking them. When trying running/installing HiJackThis, RootkitRevealer and some other scanners, it tells me system security policy prevent running/installing it. The list of malicious acitivities go on and on. here's a sample of logs from all my scans. In particular, aswSnx.SYS, apnenfno.sys and PROCMON20.SYS has a huge number of hooks. It's hard to tell if the rootkit replaced legit program files like aswSnx.SYS (from Avast) and PROCMON20.SYS (from Sysinternal Process Monitor). I can't find whether apnenfno.sys is from a legit program. Help to identify it is appreciated. • Using IIS Logs for Performance Testing with Visual Studio

  In this blog post I’ll show you how you can play back the IIS Logs in Visual Studio to automatically generate the web performance tests. You can also download the sample solution I am demo-ing in the blog post. Introduction Performance testing is as important for new websites as it is for evolving websites. If you already have your website running in production you could mine the information available in IIS logs to analyse the dense zones (most used pages) and performance test those pages rather than wasting time testing & tuning the least used pages in your application. What are IIS Logs To help with server use and analysis, IIS is integrated with several types of log files. These log file formats provide information on a range of websites and specific statistics, including Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, user information and site visits as well as dates, times and queries. If you are using IIS 7 and above you will find the log files in the following directory C:\Interpub\Logs\ Walkthrough 1. Download and Install Log Parser from the Microsoft download Centre. You should see the LogParser.dll in the install folder, the default install location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Log Parser 2.2. LogParser.dll gives us a library to query the iis log files programmatically. By the way if you haven’t used Log Parser in the past, it is a is a powerful, versatile tool that provides universal query access to text-based data such as log files, XML files and CSV files, as well as key data sources on the Windows operating system such as the Event Log, the Registry, the file system, and Active Directory. More details… 2. Create a new test project in Visual Studio. Let’s call it IISLogsToWebPerfTestDemo.   3.  Delete the UnitTest1.cs class that gets created by default. Right click the solution and add a project of type class library, name it, IISLogsToWebPerfTestEngine. Delete the default class Program.cs that gets created with the project. 4. Jokes apart, log parser and web performance test together allow you to save a lot of time by not having to worry about what to test or even worrying about how to record the test.   I've recently applied for an Amazon affiliate program (which was accepted) as I'm planning on advertising books I read, on my website. Before going live with my website, I would like to: 1 -test the whole affiliate program to make sure it's working properly. 2 -buy the books I will review and promote on my website under my own affiliate program in order to get some cash back and therefore save money. To do so, I thought about setting up a simple HTML page (on the actual domain I applied for) which will just list the products I will buy before going live. That way I test, get some cash back, and don't expose my website (Brand, content...) before going live. Can I do this without having my account suspended by Amazon (i.e. won't Amazon think I only applied to the program to get some cash back, will Amazon be happy with receiving affiliate traffic from an almost empty website...) ?

  I am trying to install another linux distro besides ubuntu. However, I want to retain my existing windows based loader. Currently, as per my knowledge, MsDos loads grub which then loads Ubuntu (with loop back trick). Now, I have a new linux distro installed on /dev/sda8 (/boot for new distro) where as /root for that OS is installed on /dev/sda9. I tried following steps 1. • C# testing framework that works like JUnit in Eclipse?

  Hello all, I come from a Java/Eclipse background and I fear that I am spoiled by how easy it is to get JUnit and JMock running in Eclipse, and have that GUI with the bar and pass/fail information pop up. It just works with no hassle. I see a lot of great options for testing in C# with Visual Studio. NUnit looks really nice because it contains unit and mock testing all in one. The trouble is, I can't figure out how to get the IDE display my results. The NUnit documentation seems to show that it doesn't automatically show results through the VS IDE. I found http://testdriven.net/, which seems to trumpet that is makes VS display these stats and work with multiple frameworks, but it isn't open source. Is there anyway to get unit and mock testing working with the VS IDE like it does in Java with Eclipse?

• Can I use the test suite from an open source project to verify that my own 'compatible library' is compatible?

  The question Is it illegal to rewrite every line of an open source project in a slightly different way, and use it in a closed source project? makes me wonder what would be considered a clean-room implementation in the era of open source projects. Hypothetically, if I were to develop a library which duplicates the publicly documented interface of an open-source library, without ever looking at the source code for that library, could that code ever be considered a derivative work? Obviously it would need the same class hierarchy and method signatures, so that it could be a drop-in replacement - could that in itself, be enough to provoke a copyright claim? What about if I used the test suite of the open source project to verify whether my clean implementation behaved in the same way as the original library? Would using the test suite be enough to dirty my clean code? As should be expected from a question like this, I am not looking for specific legal advice, but looking to document experiences people may have had with this sort of issue.

• Win32 script environment for testing http redirects?

  The past few days I've been working with setting up an Apache server on Windows. The server is supposed to host several .htaccess files, each redirecting (or, in some cases, proxying) to different hosts. I want to create tests for these redirectons, and the solution I'm currently considering is a CGI script running on the same server, sending GET requests to it and verifying that it gets the correct redirection headers back. A scripting solution (vscript/jscript) seems worth exploring, but so far I've only managed to rule out Microsoft.XMLHTTP because it follows the redirect "behind the scenes". Are there any libraries or other solutions already present on a reasonably standard Windows Server that can do this kind of low-level HTTP work? If not, any other suggestions of simple environments to set up for verifying redirects?

  I am a bit new to the Devel::Cover module, but have found it very useful in making sure I am not missing tests. A problem I am running into is understanding the report from Devel::Cover. I've looked at the documentation, but can't figure out what I need to test to get 100% coverage. I do have some tests that test for a successful connection, which is why I think I have 33% coverage, but if I'm reading it correctly, cover thinks I am not testing the "|| croak" part of the statement. I thought I was, with the "throws_ok" test, but obviously I am missing something. Does anyone have advice on how I can test my DBI-connect line successfully? Thanks!
