    Hi, I've this: JSON.parse('{"130.00000001":{"p_cod":"130.00000001","value":"130.00000001 HDD Upgrade to 2x 250GB HDD 2.5\" SATA2 7200rpm"}}'); http://www.jsonlint.com/ says it's perfectly valid json. But on execution I have a JSON.parse error. But, if I change my code to: JSON.parse('{"130.00000001":{"p_cod":"130.00000001","value":"130.00000001 HDD Upgrade to 2x 250GB HDD 2.5\\" SATA2 7200rpm"}}'); (note the double backslash) It works, but now jsonlint gives me invalid json :/ Can someone help to understand this behavior?

    I'm looking for a way to load invalid (malformed) XML into an AS3 XML object. Do you know a class or a technique to do so? I have to load malformed HTML and parse it as XML. This is a Flex project so I can use Flex specific classes if needed! I thought of using the HTMLLoader since it accepts all kinds of malformed HTML and renders it properly but couldn't get anything to work...

    We have a JAVA application that pulls the data from SAP, parses it and renders to the users. The data is pulled using JCO connector. Recently we were thrown an exception: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Character reference "&#00" is an invalid XML character. So, we are planning to write a new level of indirection where ALL special/illegal characters are replaced BEFORE parsing the XML. My questions here are : 1. Is there any existing(open source) utility that does this job of replacing illegal characters in XML? 2. Or if I had to write such utility, how should i handle them? 3. Why is the above exception thrown? Thank You.

    hi my knowledge of xml and php is somewhat basic but have been able to parse a simple xml document (one level) ~ <numbers> <number>1</number> <number>2</number> </numbers> i'm attempting to parse an xml document from a website providing the latest market prices for gold bullion. I think i'm going to need a paid professional but want to give it a shot the xml file looks like this: <envelope> <message type="MARKET_DEPTH_A" version="0.1"> <market> <pitches> <pitch securityClassNarrative="GOLD" securityId="AUXLN" considerationCurrency="GBP" > <buyPrices> <price actionIndicator="B" quantity="0.153" limit="23477" /> </buyPrices> <sellPrices> <price actionIndicator="S" quantity="0.058" limit="23589" /> </sellPrices> </pitch> </pitches> </market> </message> </envelope> and simply i have no idea how to access the values within the "headings".   • How to include a PHP generated XML file into flash vars, while ALSO passing through the current php functions into it?

    Hello Given situation: In webpage.php the flashscript is calling a flash script with a flashvar: the playlist file which is a PHP generated XML file: playlist.php, it does that well so long as there are no extra functions in there. Now, in that XML-format playlistfile there needs to be a special function, besides the usual echo("");, namely the very special echo __(""); function that is already declared in webpage.php which needs to do something with the paragraphs residing within that xml file. However, currently the retrieved file misses the function echo __();and says "no such function declared in that xml-format [playlist.php] file". The php functions that are currently included at the very top of webpage.php somehow do not pass-through-the necessary functions into the playlist file for it to recognise how to handle it, in order for that playlist to get those necessary functions working. Apparently these are not passed through automatically/properly when residing in the flashvars?? Cause the echo __(""); works fine when called within webpage.php or via a normal php include(""); if those functions are in a different php file. But not working from the playlist.php file. Any ideas why/what is going on here? I appreciate your clues for this prob +1. Thanks very much.     I'm using LINQ together with XDocument to read a XML File. This is the code: XDocument xml = XDocument.Load(filename); var q = from b in xml.Descendants("product") select new { name = b.Element("name").Value, price = b.Element("price").Value, extra = b.Element("extra1").Value, deeplink = b.Element("deepLink").Value }; Now the problem is, the extra1 field is not always present. There are items in the XML file without that node. If that happens it's crashing with a NullReferenceException. Is there any possibility to include a "check if null" so I can prevent it from crashing?

  • Using jQuery to parse an RSS feed, having trouble in firefox and chrome.

    I used a jQuery library called jFeed to parse and display my blogs rss feed on my personal website. It worked perfectly well at first, but upon checking later it simply displays nothing, except in Internet Explorer, where it seems to work fine. After checking the javascript console using Firebug in Firefox, it shows an error in the 'XML' tab as follows: XML Parsing Error: no element found Location: moz-nullprincipal:{3f8a0c62-32b4-4f63-b69c- 9ef402b40b64} Line Number 1, Column 1: ^ Though I have no idea what to do with this information.     I have a multi-module maven project. Within the persist module I have a number of XML files data files that reference a DTD: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE myapp-data SYSTEM "myapp-data.dtd" > <dataset> .....omitted for brevity.... </dataset> The DTD is stored in the same directory with the XML files and even Eclipse reports these XML files as valid. However, when I run the application, the DBUnit FlatXMLDataSet throws a FileNotFound exception because it cannot located the DTD. It is apparently looking for the DTD in the root project directory (e.g. myproject/). I would have expected it to look for the DTD in the same directory as the XML file itself (e.g. myproject/persist/target/test-data). Looking at the DBUnit source code, it has this to say about it "Relative DOCTYPE uri are resolved from the current working dicrectory." What's a good way to fix this?

    Hey guys, hoping I might get some help. Have XML file here of a list of books each with unique id and numeral value for whether they are checked out or not. I need a JavaScript snippet that requests the XML file after the page loads and displays the content of the XML file.   • Best approach to write huge xml data to file?

    Hi. I'm currently exporting a database table with huge data (100000+ records) into an xml file using XmlTextWriter class and I'm writing directly to a file on the physical drive. _XmlTextWriterObject = new XmlTextWriter(_xmlFilePath, null); While my code runs ok, my question is that is it the best approach? Or should I write the whole xml in memory stream first and then write the xml document in physical file from memory stream? And what are the effects on memory/ performance in both cases?
