  • eclipse wont include/identify user .h files and .o files

    - by bks
i'm new to eclipse CDT, and try to use an existing .o file that was supplied with the proper .h file. eclipse just wont include it in the compilation process. i tryed drag&drop to the eclipse project browser, and the files did show there, but no use, still "No such file: No such file or directory". i tryed defining the .o file in the: project properties tool settings MinGW C Linker Miscellaneous other objects. didn't work either. as for the header file, i did try a workaround: created a new file in the project and named it after the file i want to include as header, then copied the content. and yet, the compiler/linker didn't recognize the object file. perhaps you can help?thank you

  • Are there still completely new programming languages and -paradigms to be born?

    - by llasa
Are there still completely new programming languages and -paradigms (which will actually go mainstream and still be used decades after their appearance) to be born? What I'm talking about are groundbreaking things like the rise of object oriented programming, C++, or PHP. With new programming languages I mean that they actually are completely different from what you know, as different as when you set a guy who used assembler for a decade, and even programmed some kind of 3D game in it, in front of something as high-level as PHP, Ruby or Python? Which new paradigms and programming languages are there to come? What could be different about them? Who will possibly create them and how fast will they rise?

  • C# Events and Lambdas, alternative to null check?

    - by Eugarps
    Does anybody see any drawbacks? It should be noted that you can't remove anonymous methods from an event delegate list, I'm aware of that (actually that was the conceptual motivation for this). The goal here is an alternative to: if (onFoo != null) onFoo.Invoke(this, null); And the code: public delegate void FooDelegate(object sender, EventArgs e); public class EventTest { public EventTest() { onFoo += (p,q) => { }; } public FireFoo() { onFoo.Invoke(this, null); } public event FooDelegate onFoo; }

  • Unit Testing Model Classes that inherits from NSManagedObject

    - by Matt Baker
So...I'm trying to get unit tests set up in my iPhone App but I'm having some issues. I'm trying to test my model classes but they inherit directly from NSManagedObject. I'm sure this is a problem but I don't know how to get around it. Everything is building and running as expected but I get this error when calling any method on the class I'm testing: Unknown.m:0:0 unrecognized selector sent to instance 0xc2b120 If I follow this structure (http://chanson.livejournal.com/115621.html) to create my object in my tests I end up with another error entirely but it still doesn't help me. Basically my question is this: how can I test a class that inherits from NSManagedObject?

  • Dynamically create class attributes

    - by ahojnnes
Hi, I need to dynamically create class attributes from a DEFAULTS dictionary. defaults = { 'default_value1':True, 'default_value2':True, 'default_value3':True, } class Settings(object): default_value1 = some_complex_init_function(defaults[default_value1], ...) default_value2 = some_complex_init_function(defaults[default_value2], ...) default_value3 = some_complex_init_function(defaults[default_value3], ...) I could also achive this by having sth. like __init__ for class creation, in order to dynamically create these attributes from dictionary and save a lot of code and stupid work. How would you do this? Thank you very much in advance!

  • Filter records based on Date Range + ASP.NET + Regex + Javascript

    - by ASIF
Hi I need to filter data based on a date range. My table has a field Process date. I need to filter the records and display those in the range FromDate to ToDate. How do I write a function in VB.NET which can help me filter the data. Protected Shared Function ObjectInRange(ByRef obj As Object, ByVal str1 As String, ByVal str2 As String) As Boolean Dim inRange = False For Each prop As PropertyInfo In obj.GetType().GetProperties() Dim propVal = prop.GetValue(obj, Nothing) If propVal Is Nothing Then Continue For End If Dim propValString = Convert.ToString(propVal) If Regex....WHAT GOES HERE? Then inRange = True Exit For End If Next Return inRange End Function Am I on the right track??

  • prevent using functions before initialization, constructors-like in C

    - by Hernán Eche
This is the way I get to prevent funA,funB,funC, etc.. for being used before init #define INIT_KEY 0xC0DE //any number except 0, is ok static int initialized=0; int Init() { //many init task initialized=INIT_KEY; } int funA() { if (initialized!=INIT_KEY) return 1 //.. } int funB() { if (initialized!=INIT_KEY) return 1 //.. } int funC() { if (initialized!=INIT_KEY) return 1 //.. } The problem with this approach is that if some of those function is called within a loop so "if (initialized!=INIT_KEY)" is called again, and again, although it's not necessary. It's a good example of why constructors are useful haha, If it were an object I would be sure that when was created initialization was called, but in C, I don't know how to do it. Any other ideas are welcome!

  • Returning a static array without using a class field

    - by Bart Friederichs
    I have the following base and derived (partial, for sake of brevity) classes: class Base { public abstract int[] someArray { get; } } class Derived : Base { private readonly static int[] _someArray = new int[] { 1,2,3,4 }; public override int[] someArray { get { return _someArray; } } } What I would like now, is put the new int[] { 1,2,3,4 } in the return part of the getter. But, that would create a new array every time the getter is called. Is it possible to directly return some kind of object, which stays the same for all objects of class Derived ? Something along the lines of (I know this is invalid C#): get { return (int[]) { 1, 2, 3, 4 }; }

  • How do I construct a 3D model of a room from 2 stereo cameras? What is the determining factor to an

    - by yasumi
Currently, I have extracted depth points to construct a 3D model from 2 stereo cameras. The methods I have used are openCV graphCut method and a software from http://sourceforge.net/projects/reconststereo/. However, the generated 3D models are not very accurate, which leads me to question: 1) What is the problem with pixel-based method? 2) Should I change my pixel-based method to feature-based or object-recognition-based method? Is there a best method? 3) Are there any other ways to do such reconstruction? Additionally, the depth extracted comes only from 2 images. What if I am turning the camera 360 degrees to obtain a video? Looking forward to suggestion on how to combine this depth information. Thank you very much :)

I've been fiddling with this for over twenty minutes and my Google-foo is failing me. Let's say I have an XML Document created in Java (org.w3c.dom.Document): DocumentBuilderFactory docFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); DocumentBuilder docBuilder = docFactory.newDocumentBuilder(); Document document = docBuilder.newDocument(); Element rootElement = document.createElement("RootElement"); Element childElement = document.createElement("ChildElement"); childElement.appendChild(document.createTextNode("Child Text")); rootElement.appendChild(childElement); document.appendChild(rootElement); String documentConvertedToString = "?" // <---- How? How do I convert the document object into a text string?

  • how to create multiple selections in text edit box in qt4?

    - by Ronny
Qt3.3 used to allow for multiple selections in the QTextEdit widget by calling the setSelection() function and specifying a different selection id (selNum) as the last argument in that function. In Qt4, to create a selection, I do it by creating a QTextCursor object and call the setPosition() or movePosition() methods. I have no problems being able to create a single selection of text. I am, however, unable to find a way to create multiple selections. The methods in Qt4 do not have an argument which allows you to set a selection id, nor can i find any other function in the QTextCursor or QTextEdit which looks like it might allow me to do so. Has this feature been completely removed from Qt4? or has is there a new and different way of doing it? Thanks. Ronny

  • How to print the Control identifiers of a window to a document in Pywinauto.

    - by Swetha
Hi All, I am trying to automate installation of an application using Pywinauto.During the installation the last window shows some warning or error messages in few cases and later the system begins to restart. My objective is to capture the the Warning messages which is possible by app.top_window_()._ctrl_identifiers() np.Notepad.Edit.TypeKeys(a,with_spaces=True, with_tabs=True, with_newlines=True) This is returning a list which contains all the messages of the screen. Second line is where i am trying to print the list object in the notepad. But its throwing some exceptions Traceback (most recent call last): File "", line 1, in np.Notepad.Edit.TypeKeys(a,with_spaces=True, with_tabs=True, with_newlines=True) File "C:\Python26\pywinauto\controls\HwndWrapper.py", line 950, in TypeKeys turn_off_numlock) File "C:\Python26\pywinauto\SendKeysCtypes.py", line 629, in SendKeys keys = parse_keys(keys, with_spaces, with_tabs, with_newlines) File "C:\Python26\pywinauto\SendKeysCtypes.py", line 538, in parse_keys c = string[index] KeyError: 0 Could anyone let me know how to do this or if there is other way in which this can be handled with an example. Thanks a lot in advance. Swetha

  • Web page with embedded .NET control in IBM WebSphere 6.1

    - by Borat
Hello, I have very simple web page with embedded .NET control in it via the <object> tag. The problem is that when I deploy it to an IIS server it works fine (the .NET control is shown). The same is for the Apache server. But when I deploy it to the WebSphere server I get the html but the .NET control does not appear. Probably it is some kind of a server configuration issue, but I cannot figure it out. I would appreciate any suggestions. Best regards!

  • What theoretical and/or experimental programming-language features are there?

    - by Gary Rake
I'm designing a programming language, purely for fun, and want to add as many experimental features as I can, just to make programming in it something completely different, and that not in a bad way like Brainf*ck or Malbolge. However, I seem to be quite bad at coming up with new things for it but I'm sure that there are tons of things out there that have been talked about but never really tried out. What experimental language features or concepts not implemented in mainstream languages are there at the moment? E.g: If I asked this in, let's say, 1960, an answer could be "Object-oriented programming". I'm sure that there are a lot of unimplemented ideas computer-scientists have (recently) come up with, at least I was told so.

  • DBCC CHECKDB WITH DATA_PURITY gives out of range error

    - by Mark Allison
Hi there, I have restore a SQL Server 2000 database onto SQL Server 2005 and then run DBCC CHECKDB WITH DATA_PURITY and I get this error: Msg 2570, Level 16, State 3, Line 2 Page (1:19558), slot 13 in object ID 181575685, index ID 1, partition ID 293374720802816, alloc unit ID 11899744092160 (type "In-row data"). Column "NumberOfShares" value is out of range for data type "numeric". Update column to a legal value. The column NumberOfShares is a numeric (19,6) data type. If I run the following select max (NumberOfShares) from AUDIT_Table select min (NumberOfShares) from AUDIT_Table I get: 22678647.839110 -1845953000.000000 These values are inside the bounds of a numeric (19,6) so I'm not sure why the DBCC check fails. Any ideas to find out why it fails? Do I need to use DBCC PAGE? How would you troubleshoot this? Thanks, Mark.

  • App Engine - Objectify - Storing a byte[]

    - by Spines
I'm using the Objectify library for interfacing with the app engine datastore. In my User class, I store the hashed password as a byte[]. When I put it in the datastore, it is correctly stored as a blob. When I try to load the User object back out I get this error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cannot load non-collection value '<Blob: 40 bytes>' into private byte[] How do I fix this? Do I have to change my User class to have the hashed password be of type ShortBlob?

  • Better data-structure design

    - by Tempname
    Currently in my application I have a single table that is giving me a bit of trouble. The issue at hand is I have a value object that is mapped to this table. When the data is returned to me as an array of value objects, I have to then loop through this array and begin my recursion by matching the ParentID to parent ObjectID's. The column ParentID is either null (acts a parent) or it holds the value of an ObjectID. I know there has to be a better way to create this data structure so that I do not have to do recursive loops to match ParentID's with their ObjectID's. Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Here is the table in describe form: +----------------+------------------+------+-----+---------------------+-----------------------------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +----------------+------------------+------+-----+---------------------+-----------------------------+ | ObjectID | int(11) unsigned | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | ObjectHeight | decimal(6,2) | NO | | NULL | | | ObjectWidth | decimal(6,2) | NO | | NULL | | | ObjectX | decimal(6,2) | NO | | NULL | | | ObjectY | decimal(6,2) | NO | | NULL | | | ObjectLabel | varchar(255) | NO | | NULL | | | TemplateID | int(11) unsigned | NO | MUL | NULL | | | ObjectTypeID | int(11) unsigned | NO | MUL | NULL | | | ParentID | int(11) unsigned | YES | MUL | NULL | | | CreationDate | datetime | YES | | 0000-00-00 00:00:00 | | | LastModifyDate | timestamp | YES | | NULL | on update CURRENT_TIMESTAMP | +----------------+------------------+------+-----+---------------------+-----------------------------+e

  • Why is sqrt() not a method on Float?

    - by KaptajnKold
In Ruby everything is an object. That's why I don't understand why we have the Math module. It seems to me that most (all?) of the functions in the Math module should have been methods on the numeric types like Integer, Float and so on. E.g. instead of Math.sqrt(5) it would make more sense to have 5.sqrt The same goes for sin, cos, tan, log10 and so on. Does anyone know why all these functions ended up in the Math module?

  • Getting an icon to always be unrotated regardless of parent rotations in WPF

    - by Jeff Moser
Is there an easy way in WPF to specify the orientation of an icon (or Button, or any WPF object) so that it always effectively remains unrotated regardless of the rotations of the parent transforms? For example, I'd like to have an icon like this: + + + + + +++++ + + + + + + + However, if I dock it to the left side, it'd by default look like this: +++++ + + + +++++ +++ + and if I docked it to the right, it'd be like this: + +++ +++++ + + + +++++ Is there a way to make it always be: + + + + + +++++ + + + + + + + ? I know I could manually track where it's docked and rotate it appropriately, but I was wondering if there's a clever way to effectively give the icon "gravity" to always point down. Thanks!

  • C# - Custom Attributes - Setting an attribute property to the type of the decorated class.

    Is it possible to get the decorated class' type inside of the custom attribute's class? For example: [MetadataAttribute] [AttributeUsage(AttributeTargets.Class | AttributeTargets.Property, AllowMultiple = false)] public class ViewAttribute : ExportAttribute { public object TargetRegion { get; set; } public Type ViewModel { get; set; } public Type Module { get; set; } public ViewAttribute() : base(typeof(UserControl)) { Module = GetDecoratedClassType(); //I need this method } } In the following example GetDecoratedClassType() would return HomeView [View] HomeView MyHomeView { get; set; }

  • Optimizing simple search script in PowerShell

    - by cc0
I need to create a script to search through just below a million files of text, code, etc. to find matches and then output all hits on a particular string pattern to a CSV file. So far I made this; $location = 'C:\Work*' $arr = "foo", "bar" #Where "foo" and "bar" are string patterns I want to search for (separately) for($i=0;$i -lt $arr.length; $i++) { Get-ChildItem $location -recurse | select-string -pattern $($arr[$i]) | select-object Path | Export-Csv "C:\Work\Results\$($arr[$i]).txt" } This returns to me a CSV file named "foo.txt" with a list of all files with the word "foo" in it, and a file named "bar.txt" with a list of all files containing the word "bar". Is there any way anyone can think of to optimize this script to make it work faster? Or ideas on how to make an entirely different, but equivalent script that just works faster? All input appreciated!

I have few doubts regarding constructor in java Can a constructor be private? If yes then in which condition? Constructor is a method or not? If constructor does not return anything then why we are getting a new Object every time we call it. Whats the default access modifier of a constructor if we did not specify. Thanks & Regards Edit---------- Answer for 1 & 3 are very clear. But still doubt about 2&4 as i'm getting different answers for them.
