  • Executing JavaScript with Python without X.

    - by Thomas
I want to parse a html-page that unfortunately requires JavaScript to show any content. In order to do so I use a small python-script that pulls the html-code of the page, but after that I have to execute the JavaScript in a DOM-context which seems pretty hard. To make it even harder I want to use it in a server environment that has no X11-server. Note: I already read about http://code.google.com/p/pywebkitgtk/ but it seems to need a X-server.

  • Convert string to char

    - by Orsol
Hi. I get from another class string that must be converted to char. It usually contains only one char and that's not a problem. But control chars i receive like '\n' or '\t'. Is there standard methods to convert this to endline or tab char or i need to parse it myself?

  • Trying to convert a 2D image into 3D objects in Java

    - by Kyle
Hey, I'm trying to take a simple image, something like a black background with colored blocks representing walls. I'm trying to figure out how to go about starting on something like this. Do I need to parse the image and look at each pixel or is there an easier way to do it? I'm using Java3D but it doesn't seem to have any sort of built in support for that...

  • C# equivalent of NaN or IsNumeric

    - by johnc
This seems like a fairly simple question, and I'm surprised not to have required it before. What is the most efficient way of testing a string input is a numeric (or conversely Not A Number). I guess I can do a Double.Parse or a regex (see below) public static bool IsNumeric(this string value) { return Regex.IsMatch(value, "^\\d+$"); } but I was wondering if there was a implemented way to do it, such as javascript's NaN() or IsNumeric() (was that VB, I can't remember).

  • Python script to remove all comments from XML file

    - by Jennifer Greentree
I am trying to build a python script that will take in an XML document and remove all of the comment blocks from it. I tried something along the lines of: tree = ElementTree() tree.parse(file) commentElements = tree.findall('//comment()') for element in commentElements: element.parentNode.remove(element) Doing this yields a weird error from python: "KeyError: '()' I know there are ways to easily edit the file using other methods ( like sed ), but I have to do it in a python script.

  • Can I move beaker.SessionMiddleware to handle method somehow?

    - by Alexander A.Sosnovskiy
It's a bit ugly that many lines of code fall into "__main__". Can someone give me a tip of how to move SessionMiddleware into handle method? I should notice that I use session in CoreXmlParser. Thanks in advance ! def handle(environ, start_response): req = webob.Request(environ) c = CoreXmlParser(req) resp = webob.Response(body=c(), charset = 'utf-8', status='200 OK', \ request=req, content_type='text/xml') resp(environ, start_response) return resp.app_iter if __name__ == '__main__': #parse config file for session options app = SessionMiddleware(handle, some_session_opts_here) from flup.server.fcgi import WSGIServer WSGIServer(app).run()

  • SAX parser does not resolve filename

    - by phantom-99w
Another day, another strange error with SAX, Java, and friends. I need to iterate over a list of File objects and pass them to a SAX parser. However, the parser fails because of an IOException. However, the various File object methods confirm that the file does indeed exist. The output which I get: 11:53:57.838 [MainThread] DEBUG DefaultReactionFinder - C:\project\trunk\application\config\reactions\TestReactions.xml 11:53:57.841 [MainThread] ERROR DefaultReactionFinder - C:\project\trunk\application\config\reactions\null (The system cannot find the file specified) So the problem is obviously that null in the second line. I've tried nearly all variations of passing the file as a parameter to the parser, including as a String (both from getAbsolutePath() and entered by hand), as a URI and, even more weirdly, as a FileInputStream (for this I get the same error, except that the entire relative path gets reported as null, so C:\project\trunk\null). All that I can think of is that the SAXParserFactory is incorrectly configured. I have no idea what is wrong, though. Here is the code concerned: SAXParserFactory factory = SAXParserFactory.newInstance(); factory.setValidating(true); try { parser = factory.newSAXParser(); } catch (ParserConfigurationException e) { throw new InstantiationException("Error configuring an XML parser. Given error message: \"" + e.getMessage() + "\"."); } catch (SAXException e) { throw new InstantiationException("Error creating a SAX parser. Given error message: \"" + e.getMessage() + "\"."); } ... for (File f : fileLister.getFileList()) { logger.debug(f.getAbsolutePath()); try { parser.parse(f, new ReactionHandler(input)); //FileInputStream fs = new FileInputStream(f); //parser.parse(fs, new ReactionHandler(input)); //fs.close(); } catch (IOException e) { logger.error(e.getMessage()); throw new ReactionNotFoundException("An error occurred processing file \"" + f + "\"."); } ... } I have made no special provisions to provide a custom SAX parser implementation: I use the system default. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
