• Are compound command's second and subsequent lines not effected by HISTCONTROL in bash?

  When consulting bash's man page, it read this sentence about bash history: The second and subsequent lines of a multi-line compound command are not tested, and are added to the history regardless of the value of HISTCONTROL. But I have tried this: $ HISTCONTROL=ignorespace $ if [ -f /var/log/messages ] > then > echo "/var/log/message exists." > fi $ history | tail -2 18 HISTCONTROL=ignorespace 19 history | tail -2 Note that the if is leaded by a space. Why the second line of this if compound command still not appear in the history?

• I am looking for a svn helper program

  I didn't remember the name of this program. But i can remember how it works. Program is working on tray. When we double click on it it is showing its main window. :) I could add some criterias to make automatic commit(and maybe update). For ex: if a file changes or if files to be deleted, you can commit. The best part of this program is: "it is FREE" I don't remember exactly but i think it has M name in its name (but i don't remember). I think this program written by an Italian man. And its web site was very simple (and i think its fonts were green)

• DataGrid : Binding with two different classes with lists ? WPF C#

  It is my first question on StackOverflow so I hope I am doing nothing wrong ! Sorry if it is the case ! I need some help because I can not find the solution of my problem. Of course I have searched everywhere on the web but I can not find it (can not post the links that I am using because of my low reputation :( ). Moreover, I am new in C# and WPF (and self-learning). I used to work in C++/Qt so I do not know how everything works in WPF. And sorry for my English, I am French. My problem My basic classes are that an Employee can use a computer. The id of the computer and the date of use are stored into the class Connection. I would like to display the list information in a DataGrid and in RowDetailsTemplate like here : http://i.stack.imgur.com/Bvn1z.png So it will do a binding to the Employee class but also to the Connection class with only the last value of the property (here the last value of the list "Computer ID" and the last value of the list "Connection Date" on this last computer). So it is a loop in the different lists. How can I do it ? Is it too much to do ? :( I succeed to get the Employee informations but I do not know how to bind the list of computer. • Shortest distance between points on a toroidally wrapped (x- and y- wrapping) map?

  I have a toroidal-ish Euclidean-ish map. That is the surface is a flat, Euclidean rectangle, but when a point moves to the right boundary, it will appear at the left boundary (at the same y value), given by x_new = x_old % width Basically, points are plotted based on: (x_new, y_new) = ( x_old % width, y_old % height) Think Pac Man -- walking off one edge of the screen will make you appear on the opposite edge. What's the best way to calculate the shortest distance between two points? The typical implementation suggests a large distance for points on opposite corners of the map, when in reality, the real wrapped distance is very close. The best way I can think of is calculating Classical Delta X and Wrapped Delta X, and Classical Delta Y and Wrapped Delta Y, and using the lower of each pair in the Sqrt(x^2+y^2) distance formula. But that would involve many checks, calculations, operations -- some that I feel might be unnecessary. Is there a better way?

  hi i am a student and just start learning low level c programming.i tried to understand read() and write() methods with this program. #include <unistd.h> #include <stdlib.h> main() { char *st; st=calloc(sizeof(char),2);//allocate memory for 2 char read(0,st,2); write(1,st,2); } i was expecting that it would give segmentation fault when i would try to input more than 2 input characters.but when i execute program and enter " asdf " after giving " as " as output it executes "df" command. i want to know why it doesn't give segmentation fault when we assign more than 2 char to a string of size 2.and why is it executing rest(after 2 char)of input as command instead of giving it as output only? also reading man page of read() i found read() should give EFAULT error,but it doesn't. I am using linux.

• rpm file conflict after alien conversion

  I have a program for which I generate a .deb file. The .deb file works fine on the systems I have tried it on (also tested with lintian). Previously it has worked to use alien to convert this to .rpm and install it on Suse.   I just ran the Homebrew script as described in the installation page. I then ran brew doctor in Terminal, and it returned several errors. I'm not sure how to fix those errors, please help. brew doctor Error: Some directories in /usr/local/share/man aren't writable. This can happen if you "sudo make install" software that isn't managed by Homebrew. If a brew tries to add locale information to one of these directories, then the install will fail during the link step. You should probably `chown` them: /usr/local/share/man/de /usr/local/share/man/de/man1 Error: You have Xcode 4.2, which is outdated. Please install Xcode 4.3. Error: Unbrewed dylibs were found in /usr/local/lib. If you didn't put them there on purpose they could cause problems when building Homebrew formulae, and may need to be deleted. • htaccess mod_rewrite conundrum

  Ok, so I have this .htaccess file that contains this <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php?p=%{REQUEST_URI}&%{QUERY_STRING} [L] </IfModule> Problem is, that in apache 2.2.22, the p and the other query objects don't come through, but it works great in apache 2.4.2 . So basically in apache 2.2.22 it just forwards everything to index.php, but it doesn't have any get objects. Any help, thanks. Update Ok so I changed the line RewriteRule . /index.php?p=%{REQUEST_URI}&%{QUERY_STRING} [L] to RewriteRule ^(.*) /index.php?p=$1 [L,QSA] And now on apache 2.2.22 the p GET doesn't go through, but any specific queries I add go through. So If I do http://localhost/index/fun/buns/funds?man=woman on 2.4.2 I get array (size=2) 'p' => string 'index/fun/buns/funds' (length=20) 'man' => string 'woman' (length=5) and on 2.2.22 I get array(1) { ["man"]=> string(5) "woman" } To be clear What's happening on 2.4.2 is what I want, and 2.2.22 isn't cooperating. Another Update Ok so it seems like what is happening is that when I do /index/whatever, it auto assumes index.php, and ignores that, it auto adds the .php to it, when I don't want it to. Any ideas on how to stop that?

• WPF TreeView MouseDown

  I've got something like this in a TreeView: <DataTemplate x:Key="myTemplate"> <StackPanel MouseDown="OnItemMouseDown"> ... </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> Using this I get the mouse down events if I click on items in the stack panel. However... there seems to be another item behind the stack panel that is the TreeViewItem - it's very hard to hit, but not impossible, and that's when the problems start to occur. I had a go at handling PreviewMouseDown on TreeViewItem, however that seems to require e.Handled = false otherwise standard tree view behaviour stops working. Ok, Here's the source code... • SQL server 2008 R2 installation error

  I have a windows 7,32 bit laptop. I am the administrator with all permissions. when I click on the SQL server 2008R2 set up file,it says : "SQL server set up has encountered the following error:Failed to retreive data for this request" click on OK. I have uninstalled all the components of SQL from control panel. I used Windows installer clean up to remove the files(which I must have not done ),but still no go. The summary.txt log says: Overall summary: Final result: Failed: see details below Exit code (Decimal): 847168662 Exit facility code: 638 Exit error code: 50326 Exit message: Failed to retrieve data for this request.   Right now if I try to add a non-system user not in the university's Kerberos realm I am prompted for a Kerberos password anyway. Obviously there is no password to be entered, so I just press enter and see: passwd: Authentication token manipulation error passwd: password unchanged Typing passwd newuser has the same issue with the same message. I tried using pwconv in the hopes that only a shadow entry was needed, but it changed nothing. I want to be able to add a local user not in the realm and give them a local password without being bothered about Kerberos. I am on Ubuntu 10.04.   I am trying to create my own SSL hierarchy like: MyRootCA --MyIntermediateCA ----MyCert I have installed MyRootCA and MyIntermediateCA, but windows points out that MyIntermediateCA doesn't have the right to issue certs. Therefore it invalidates MyCert. i.stack.imgur.com/XDtXp.png i.stack.imgur.com/rZNQZ.png I am using sign.sh from mod_ssl package, which utilizes openssl ca command. I wonder if there is any parameter/option that grants MyIntermediateCA the right to issue sublevel certs?

However, everything I've seen indicates that before a VM is cloned, all the snapshots need to be folded back into a single disk image. But, what if I don't want to? Suppose I want to keep my stack of snapshots on the original, and then clone that VM such that the clone also had the same stack of snapshots available? Is that possible?

Custom event details: As mentioned, it's every MVC action that throws this error until the app pool is restarted, and the error seems to be occurring in System.Web.WebPages.Scope.WebConfigScopeDictionary.TryGetValue(Object key, Object& value) Has anyone seen this issue before?
