Redirect a Microsoft Windows running service to look for another file

There is a Windows Biometric service running on Windows 7. This service looks to a registry key value ( the value is the name of a DLL in a certain PATH.)

I wish to redirect this Windows Biometric service to look for another file in another location instead.

Is it possible to do this in non-admin mode?
