COM port on VirtualBox, XP

I am using Sun VirtualBox v. 3.1.4 on WinXP. Host OS is also WinXP. In the Host Machine settings, Serial Ports, Port 1, I set:

Enable Serial Port

Port Number: COM1

Port Mode: Host Device

Port File/Path: COM1

In the Host OS Device Manager I don't see COM1 port. What is wromg?
