Problem to connect to shared printer

Maybe someone knows a reason for following behaviour:

I'm going to add a printer thru the normal printer wizard. At the step where to connect to a shared printer i select browse and take a printer from the printers attached to another host. That won't work.

But if i write the complete address (\\host\printer) the printer get attached.

Any idea why i cannot select from the list ?
