We have many rules in our internal DNS server and I'd like to use them in my local hosts file. Is there any utility to do this kind of conversion?

Does anyone know if it is possible for a windows 2003 DNS server to update the records for a domain so that it contains all the records of a domain of of a remotely based DNS server?

I have a network share on a machine that I can only reach by IP address. I then defined an alias for the IP in my hosts file so I could use that instead of the IP but then I can't log on to the share, I just get the logon prompt again and again. So basically this:

Problem
I’m seeing a strange and extremely frustrating problem.
