how to enable mac like task bar in Windows 7

I have recently got a laptop with windows 7 installed and it is showing normal task bar at bottom and one taskbar with glass like background (I think I seen similar one in either mac or ubuntu) which have the icons for accessing internet, email, mediaplayer.

But after sometime it suddenly disappeared and I don't know how to get it back? I don't even know what it is called ;(

Can anybody please help?
