JAX-RS 2 is a key part of Java EE 7. It is currently in early draft stage and this is a great time to provide feedback. With this goal in mind, well-respected Java EE veteran Bill Burke of JBoss wrote an excellent article on DZone/JavaLobby overviewing what's in JAX-RS 2 so far. He discusses:

The client API
Asynchronous processing
Filters and entity interceptors
