  • mysql good way of programing

    i have the video gallery in my database, which has over 200 000 videos. in my home page in the site i show exactly some videos, which must satisfy to some criteria. and so, what is the question. is it a good way to sort videos every time the home page opene, or i must save the sort results somewhere in the database, and refresh them only if something change. i think it can save me a lot of time. what you think about it. thanks in advance.

    What are all the differences between pipes and message queues? Please explain both from vxworks & unix perspectives. I think pipes are unidirectional but message queues aren't. But don't pipes internally use message queues, then how come pipes are unidirectional but message queues are not? What are the other differences you can think of (from design or usage or other perspectives)?

  • In WebBrowser control get Silverlight Canvas

    I have a webbrowser control that loads an html page which contains a silverlight object. I want to use the webbrowser control to get the silverlight canvas so that I can pass it to a WriteableBitmap() object. The silverlight is being loaded into a div called SilverlightHostControl and I am trying to get it like this in C#: object element = webBrowser.Document.GetElementById("SilverlightControlHost"); This returns a {System.Windows.Forms.HtmlElement} which contains the silverlight object but I don't know how to get the Silverlight object so I can use it the WriteableBitmap() object.

  • Modifications in default document (ASP.NET+IIS7) won't take effect

    We have a website developed by ASP.NET+IIS7 and its default document is default.aspx. It works fine. But when we tried to switch the default to index.html, weird things happened. We have modified web.config as follows: <defaultDocument> <files> <clear /> <add value="index.html" /> </files> </defaultDocument> and we have clear everything under C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files``, and restart the worker process. We even changed the name of Default.aspx to dddd.aspx. But everything stays the same when accessing with http://localhost/<MyAppName>/! And when we tried to access with http://localhost/<MyAppName>/index.html, it works fine. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

  • SVN client too old after I used sshfs

    I have a svn checked out web application on a shared hosting linux server. The linux server has an svn client that I can access via ssh. From my localhost, I did the following > sshfs [email protected]:webappdir/ /media/webapp > cd /media/webapp > svn update svn: Working copy '.' locked svn: run 'svn cleanup' to remove locks (type 'svn help cleanup' for details) > svn clean up It's been 15 minutes and the svn clean up still isn't finished. I think it may have froze. So then I did the following: > ssh [email protected] > cd webappdir > svn update svn: This client is too old to work with working copy '.'; please get a newer Subversion client So now I can't update my webappdir because my /media/webapp is stuck on svn clean up, and my shared hosting server's svn client is out of date. I don't have privileges to install a new svn client on the shared hosting server. How do I get my svn update to work?

    We have a ProCurve Switch 2810-48G (J9022A). We need to disable auto negotiation on two ports and manually configure them to be full duplex gige ports. From the web GUI, Configuration Tab, Port Configuration sub tab, I am only presented with the option to configure the port as Auto - 1000. I take this to mean, auto negotiate duplex, manually configure the speed to be gige. How do I manually configure the port such that it is manually configured to use full duplex, 1000 mbs?

  • windows server 2008 web edition cant change permissions

    hi there, Im used to using windows server 2003 but decided to get a Vista web edition for IIS7 and to run our MVC applications on. I have installed copSSH that i use for SFTP, and when i upload my files i am unable to change persmissions or take ownership or anything when logged in as an administrator. when i try to go to permissions i get: The permissions on uploads are incorrectly ordered, which may cause some entries to be ineffective. and all permissions are the grayed out. i have tried to use icacls to reset ownership and also tried to give myself full control through icacls however all attempts are met with a access is denied message and failed processing 669 files. all i wish to do is set up write and delete permissions on an upload folder for a CMS systems admin area, but i am a week into looking into this and i am still no wiser. Please could someone give some sound advice so i can get this running smooth thanks p.s i have added the copSSH notes as i think that when i SFTP the files to the server, this may somehow have some involvement in messing up permissions

  • TF2 with Parallels on a MacBook Pro

    I am trying to get TF2 to run under Parallels on my 15'' MacBook Pro, but it is ultimatly failing. To get any decent frame rate I have to put all the setting to low, but even then I get weird graphical "gliches" when I play. Controlls are unresponsive and very laggy as well. I have increased the video memory to 256mb, but that doesn't seem to have helped. What else should I do to make the game playable?

  • How to get rid of resume information on ubuntu 9.10 ("karmic")

    I am on an old laptop with Ubuntu 9.10 installed. I once tried to not shutdown but go into one of the resume states. On the next power on, resume did not work, but there was an error message during boot asking me for the resume image (which I do not have or know of) and when I press enter the normal boot happens. But this error pops up on every boot now. How can I get back the behaviour from before? Why does the boot process guess there would be a resume image and can I delete this information? I would like to post here the error messages from the boot proces, but they are not in /var/log/syslog, where else can they be?

  • Easiest/Best Way to Learn the x86 Instruction Set?

    I would like to learn the x86 Instruction Set Architecture. I don't meaning learning an assembly for x86. I want to understand the machine code baby. The reason is that I would like to write an assembler for x86. Then I want to write a compiler that compiles to that assembly. I know that there are the Intel manuals and AMD manuals that cover the x86 instruction set. But those are very large and dense. I'm wondering if there is a more approachable (possibly tutorial) approach to learning the x86 instruction set architecture.

    Here is a (big) example of the massive problem I am having, when this page is live at euroworker.no/order, it is dynamically generated, I have supplied a static version for people to mess with. All I need is where it says "Endre Valg" to push the div wrapper under it down.. Sounds easy huh? I have tried many many things, I hope that some discussion and even trial and error can help us here.   • Issue with my regular expression?

    I'm trying to locate the number matches in a relative path for directory up references("..\"). So I have the following pattern : "(..\)" which works as expected for the path "....\a\b" where it will give me 2 successfull groups ("..\") but when I try the path "..\a\b" it will also return 2 when it should be 1. I tried this in a reg ex tool such Expresso and it seems to work as expected in there but not in in .net, any ideas?

  • Flash AS3: (VideoEvent.COMPLETE, completePlay) - listener is triggered before video is completed

    Hello, I have a flash video using the standard FLV Playback component that comes with Flash. I'm using ActionScript 3 to modify the appearance and set up an event listener. I've set it up to go to a new URL using "externalInterface" when the video completes play. The URL is set in a variable using SWFObject. On only a few instances (3 people out of 50 - tested using Amazon Turk), people reported being taken directly to the new url, before the video even started playing. It's difficult to repeat the issue, but it did happen to me once. It doesn't have anything to do with cache, since it has been reported on people going to the url for the first time.   • How do I controll clipping with non-opaque graphics-item's in Qt?

    I have a bunch of QGraphicsSvgItem's in a QGraphicsScene that are drawn connected by QGraphicsLineItem's. This show's a graph of a tree-structure. What I want to do is provide a feature where everything but a selected sub-tree becomes transparent. A kind of "highlight this sub-tree" feature. That part was easy, but the results are ugly because now the lines can be seen through the semi-transparent svg's. I am looking for some way to still clip other QGraphicsItem's in the scene to the svg item's, giving the effect that the svg's are semi-transparent windows to the background.   • How can I tell datacontext I've updated a record via StoreProcedure

    Hi Geeks, I've a stroe procedure to update a record and after running it I use LinqToSql to delete the record. I know it is weird but I just want to test how smart the datacontext it is and understand how it works. Since the datacontext caches the results so any change via it can be recorded but now I use a store procedure to update something, it would not know. So when I try to delete it, an exception comes out "Row not found or changed". How I can tell the datacontext what I have updated? If I can do so the problem will sovle.

  • Debugging dynamic sql + dynamic tables in MS SQL Server 2008.

    Hi, I have a messy stored procedure which uses dynamic sql. I can debug it in runtime by adding print @sql; where @sql; is the string containing the dynamic SQL, right before I call execute (@sql);. Now, the multi-page stored procedure also creates dynamic tables and uses them in a query. I want to print those tables to the console right before I do an execute, so that I know exactly what the query is trying to do. However, the SQL Server 08 does not like that. When I try: print #temp_table; and try to compile the S.P. I get this error: The name "#temp_table" is not permitted in this context. Valid expressions are constants, constant expressions, and (in some contexts) variables. Column names are not permitted. Please help.

    I want to get the union of 2 nested lists plus an index to the common values. I have two lists like A = [[1,2,3],[4,5,6],[7,8,9]] and B = [[1,2,3,4],[3,3,5,7]] but the length of each list is about 100 000. To A belongs an index vector with len(A): I = [2,3,4] What I want is to find all sublists in B where the first 3 elements are equal to a sublist in A. In this example I want to get B[0] returned ([1,2,3,4]) because its first three elements are equal to A[0]. In addition, I also want the index to A[0] in this example, that is I[0].
