  • Javascript Input type

    Hi All, In javascript we use input type = file .. to open up a file browser pop-up .. is there a way to limit access to folders .. I want to select a folder then ftp all the files in the folder .. so i need access upto only the folder level and not file level .. i guess it would be tedious to go an manually select every file from the folder and then ftp .. is there a way to do that.. Also, how can i set the file-browser pop-up window path to a default one ?

  • How can I generate a unique ID using a hash in Perl?

    I doing message transfer program between multiple clients and server. I want to generate unique message id for every messages. that should be generated by server and return to client. For message transfer I am using hash data structure, Ex: { api => POST, username => sganesh, pass => "pass", message => "hai", time => "current_time", } I want to generate unique id using this hash. I have tried some of the ways, MD5 and freeze but this give unreadable id. I want some meaningful or readable unique id. I have thought we can use micro seconds to differentiate the id but here the problem is multiple clients. In any situation my id should be unique. Can anyone help me out of this problem?   • Breakpoints not working in Delphi 6 DirectShow source filter

    I'm trying to debug my DirectShow source filter. I'm using Delphi Pro 6 on Windows XP along with the DSPACK component library. I'm using Skype as my host application, which I set in the Parameters option in the Run menu, for testing my source filter DLL (ax file extension). Skype runs fine and I see a stream of my OutputDebugString messages in the Event Viewer, but none of my breakpoints are ever hit. In my Project Settings I have optimizations off, stack frames on, debug DCUs on, Range Checking on, and Overflow checking on. Each time I modify my code and run a test I: Do a full build Unregister the DirectShow filter (regsvr32 /u) Register the DirectShow filter (regsvr32) Run Skype as my Host application from the IDE When an Exception occurs, the IDE does trap it and pops up an error dialog box with the option to view the assembler code in the CPU window. However none of my breakpoints are being hit. Can anyone tell me how to get breakpoints working? Thanks.

  • Random MKAnnotationView is tapped when there are overlapping annotations

    I cannot believe this bug/problem doesn't have any solution! In my iphone application, I'm using MapKit with MKMapView and custom MKAnnotationView. The problem is when annotations overlap (in my app, annotations are photos and those photos may overlap) and when you tap on the annotation that appears on front, other annotation (on back) receives the event (seems to be random). I didn't find any way to send the event to the front annotation. Z ordering and Order of overlapping annotations questions on stackoverflow did not help me that much. Please any idea is welcome (even ugly ones)!   • cocoa - IF failing for double?

    I have a set of NSTimeIntervals like this: NSArray *mySet = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithDouble: time1], // [NSNumber numberWithDouble: time2], [NSNumber numberWithDouble: time3], nil]; // suppose that at this time // time1 = 0.00000 // time2 = 18.3200 // time3 = 21.6500 at some point in my code I want to test if currentTime is greater or equal to one of the times on the array, so I do // currentTime = 18.32 right now for (int i=0; i<[mySet count]; i++) { if (currentTime >= [[mySet objectAtIndex:i] doubleValue]) { NSLog(@"%d...", i); } } The output should be "1...2..." but the output is just "1..." when i = 1, it is comparing 18.32 to 18.32 and failing to recognize that the value is equal or greater than the other? WTF??? How can that be? thanks for any help.

I can call every PageController's method from StartController's instance.   • What's the best way to view/analyse/filter huge traces/logfiles?

    this seems to be a reoccurring issue: we receive a bug report for our software and with it tons of traces or logfiles. since finding errors is much easier when having a visualization of the log messages/events over time it is convenient to use a tool that can display the progression of events in a graph etc. (e.g. wireshark (http://www.wireshark.org) for analyzing network traffic) what tool do you use for such a purpose? the problem with most tools i used so far is that they mercilessly break down when you feed them huge data traces ( 1GB) so some criteria for such a tool would be: can deal with huge input files ( 1 GB) is really fast (so you don't have to get coffee while a file is loading) has some sort of filtering mechanism

    Hi; Supposing we have opened a connection of type either TCP or UDP to another remote machine. Having this connection, can we allow multiple connections virtually over this connection like VPN(but not VPN)? I mean multiple applications run on remote machine and you try to access to these applications, is there any multiplexing mechanism or concept supporting such feature?

  • Loopless function calls on vector/matrix members in Matlab/Octave

    I came into matrix world from loop world(C, etc) I would like to call a function on each individual member of a vector/matrix, and return the resulting vector/matrix. This is how I currently do it: function retval = gauss(v, a, b, c) for i = 1:length(v) retval(i) = a*(e^(-(v(i)-b)*(v(i)-b)/(2*c*c))); endfor endfunction Example usage: octave:47> d=[1:1000]; octave:48> mycurve=gauss(d, 1, 500, 100); Now, all advice on Matlab/Octave says: STOP whenever you catch yourself using loops and think of a better way of doing it. Thus, my question: Can one call a function on each member of a vector/matrix and return the result in a new vector/matrix all at once without using explicit loops? That is I am looking for something like this: function retval = newfun(v) retval = 42*(v^23); endfunction Perhaps, it is just syntactic sugar, that is all, but still would be useful to know.

    Hi All, my $str="1:2:3:4:5"; my ($a,$b)=split(':',$str,2); In the above code I have used limit as 2 ,so $a will contain 1 and remaining elements will be in $b. Like this I want the last element should be in one variable and the elements prior to the last element should be in another variable. Example $str = "1:2:3:4:5" ; # $a should have "1:2:3:4" and $b should have "5" $str = "2:3:4:5:3:2:5:5:3:2" # $a should have "2:3:4:5:3:2:5:5:3" and $b should have "2"

  • C#: Accessing a Dictionary.Keys Key through a numeric index

    I'm using a Dictionary<string, int> where the int is a count of the key. Now, I need to access the last-inserted Key inside the Dictionary, but i do not know the name of it. The obvious attempt: int LastCount = mydict[mydict.keys[mydict.keys.Count]]; does not work, because Dictionary.Keys does not implement a []-indexer. I just wonder if there is any similar class? I thought about using a Stack, but that only stores a string. I could now create my own struct and then use a Stack<MyStruct>, but I wonder if there is another alternative, essentially a Dictionary that implements an []-indexer on the Keys?

  • Do you know the minimum builds to create on any branch?

    You should always have three builds on your team project. These should be setup and tested using an empty solution before you write any code at all. Figure: Three builds named in the format [TeamProject].[AreaPath]_[Branch].[Gate|CI|Nightly] for every branch.   These builds should use the same XAML build workflow; however you may set them up to run a different set of tests depending on the time it takes to run a full build. Gate – Only needs to run the smallest set of tests, but should run most if not all of the Unit Test. This is run before developers are allowed to check-in CI – This should run all Unit Tests and all of the automated UI tests. It is run after a developer check-in. Nightly – The Nightly build should run all of the Unit Tests, all of the Automated UI tests and all of the Load and Performance tests. The nightly build is time consuming and will run but once a night. Packaging of your Product for testing the next day may be done at this stage as well. Figure: You can control what tests are run and what data is collected while they are running. Note: We do not run all the tests every time because of the time consuming nature of running some tests, but ALL tests should be run overnight.   • SQL Server Windows-only Authentication Strategy problem

    I would like to use Windows-only Authentication in SQL Server for our web applications. In the past we've always created the all powerful 1 SQL Login for the web application. After doing some initial testing we've decided to create Windows Active Directory groups that mimic the security roles of the application (i.e. Administrators, Managers, Users/Operators, etc...) We've created mapped logins in SQL Server to these groups and given them access to the database for the application. In addition, we've created SQL Server database roles and assigned each group the appropriate role. This is working great. My issue revolves around that for most of the applications, everyone in the company should have read access to the reports (and hence the data). As far as I can tell, I have 2 options: 1) Create a read-only/viewer AD group and put everyone in it. 2) Use the "domain\domain users" group(s) and assign them the correct roles in SQL. What is the best and/or easiest way to allow everyone read access to specific database objects using a Windows-only Authentication method?

  • How do I configure Apache 2.2 to Run Background PHP Processes on Win 2003?

    I have a script, testforeground.php, that kicks off a background script, testbackground.php, then returns while the background script continues to run until it's finished. Both the foreground and background scripts write to the output file correctly when I run the foreground script from the command line using php-cgi: C:\>php-cgi testforeground.php The above command starts a php-cgi.exe process, then a php-win.exe process, then closes the php-cgi.exe almost immediately, while the php-win.exe continues until it's finished.   • Large Users Profile - Windows 7 - Machine running slowly

    I have the MD of a client of ours who has a Windows 7 Profile that is currently 14GB thanks to Videos/Music and Documents. The first thing we did was to switch from roaming to local. What I need to know is now the profile is local am I wasting my time by reducing it any further? Does it really make a difference to performance having a large local user profile? Only the 4GB outlook ost that talks to the network frequently. Thanks in advance.... Richard

  • Text Expander broken upon Snow Leopard Upgrade

    I've been using Text Expander for years. However, I found out today it doesn't work on my newly upgraded (to Snow Leopard) Macbook Pro anymore. I know that there are a lot of applications that are not compatible with Snow Leopard, and developers around the world are working on them to work again on our beautiful macs. My questions are: 1. Is TextExpander supposed to NOT work on Snow Leopard? 2. What is a good substitution to replace TextExpander? or any updates from TextExpander developers?
