  • iPhone SDK: Change playback speed using core audio AVAudioPlayer

    I'd like to be able to play back audio I've recorded using AVAudioRecorder @ 1.5x or 2.0x speed. I don't see anything in AVAudioPlayer that will support that. I'd appreciate some suggestions, with code if possible, on how to accomplish this with the iPhone 3.x SDK. I'm not overly concerned with lowering the pitch to compensate for increased playback speed, but being able to do so would be optimal.

  • jquery parse json multidimensional array

    Ok so i have a json array like this {"forum":[{"id":"1","created":"2010-03-19 ","updated":"2010-03-19 ","user_id":"1","vanity":"gamers","displayname":"gamers","private":"0","description":"All things gaming","count_followers":"62","count_members":"0","count_messages":"5","count_badges":"0","top_badges":"","category_id":"5","logo":"gamers.jpeg","theme_id":"1"}]} I want to use jquery .getJSON to be able to return the values of each of the array values, but im not sure as to how to get access to them. So far i have this jquery code $.get('forums.php', function(json, textStatus) { //optional stuff to do after success alert(textStatus); alert(json); }); If you can help id be very happy :)

  • Qt Plugins Not Working

    I've created a custom widget plugin. The plugin integrates fine with Qt Creator but when I compile the program, I'm getting this error: "test.h: No such file or directory" Where test.h is the name of the custom widget. What am I doing wrong?   • Qt: default value of variable in class

    When creating my own class in Qt I would like my variables in the class to have a standard/default value if I haven't set them to anything. It would be perfect if this was possible to set in the h-file so I don't have to do it in each instance method of my class. You can see what I want to do in the code below. In the example myBool would have the value of false and myInt the value of 0 when the object have been created. Is this possible at all?   • Master's in Software Engineering vs. Master's in Computer Science: which degree is preferred by empl

    I've been building software professionally for 7 years and am considering a master's degree. I understand the difference between these two degrees as simply: MSCS is the theory while MSE is the practice. I'm equally interested in both and would be happy with either, although I'm curious how these degrees rank in the eyes of a potential employer. I could see two views that a hiring manager could possibly take: a MSCS is loftier and has an implied knowledge of Software Engineering an MSE is more practical and has an implied knowledge of Computer Science In my own experience I've seen both MSCS degree holders than cannot program at all while others are among the best programmers I've met, so of course actual ability will depend on the individual. My question is about the "on paper" value of these two degrees when seeking a job. All things considered, is one degree more hirable, higher-paying than the other?

  • How should I compensate for a bad WSDL?

    I've come across several examples of SOAP-based web services where automated tooling fails to build a client that works. Investigating these examples leads me to believe that the WSDL the service uses to describe itself doesn't quite match the service that's being provided. Maybe a wrong type somewhere, a different data structure - something. I'm unsure what the most appropriate response is - if we assume that the obvious one (get the provider to fix their stuff) isn't available. Some options I can think of: Make a fixed WSDL? Hack the generated code? Any other options? No good options? What good experiences have people had? What works in a real environment? Thanks

  • Any netbeans features that will make my day?

    Hi all, I've recently gotten quite fond of netbeans for my php work because of the XDebug integration. It has made me all but forget about textmate (which imho still beats netbeans for the little things) What do you think is the one awesome netbeans feature I should know about, and more importantly why and how do I use it? I'm asking this to optimize my skills in the use of the IDE and based on the idea that what works well for others might just work for me (and hopefully others).

  • UUIDs in Rails3

    I'm trying to setup my first Rails3 project and, early on, I'm running into problems with either uuidtools, my UUIDHelper or perhaps callbacks. I'm obviously trying to use UUIDs and (I think) I've set things up as described in Ariejan de Vroom's article. I've tried using the UUID as a primary key and also as simply a supplemental field, but it seems like the UUIDHelper is never being called. I've read many mentions of callbacks and/or helpers changing in Rails3, but I can't find any specifics that would tell me how to adjust. Here's my setup as it stands at this moment (there have been a few iterations): # migration class CreateImages < ActiveRecord::Migration def self.up create_table :images do |t| t.string :uuid, :limit => 36 t.string :title t.text :description t.timestamps end end ... end # lib/uuid_helper.rb require 'rubygems' require 'uuidtools' module UUIDHelper def before_create() self.uuid = UUID.timestamp_create.to_s end end # models/image.rb class Image < ActiveRecord::Base include UUIDHelper ... end Any insight would be much appreciated.   • impossible to install Framework 3.5

    Hi few days ago I formatted one of my computers (XP Home SP2 with prior updates installed). Now I am trying to install NET Framework 3.5, but display this error: [03/21/10,17:19:36] Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0a: [2] Error: Installation failed for component Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0a. MSI returned error code 1603 [03/21/10,17:20:17] WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0a is not installed. Already i have tried this to try solve this issue, but the problem persists. 1.- unistall all frameworks and reinstall from scratch 2.- clean all temps file and reinstall from scratch 3.- unistall and clean all frameworks with dotnetfx cleanup tool and reinstall from scratch 4.- install .NET Framework 3.5 full package But all these possibles solutions have failed. Any idea to solve this? Thanks in advance

  • What's the right way to kill child processes in perl before exiting?

    I'm running an IRC Bot (Bot::BasicBot) which has two child processes running File::Tail but when exiting, they don't terminate. So I'm killling them using Proc::ProcessTable like this before exiting: my $parent=$$; my $proc_table=Proc::ProcessTable->new(); for my $proc (@{$proc_table->table()}) { kill(15, $proc->pid) if ($proc->ppid == $parent); } It works but I get this warning: 14045: !!! Child process PID:14047 reaped: 14045: !!! Child process PID:14048 reaped: 14045: !!! Your program may not be using sig_child() to reap processes. 14045: !!! In extreme cases, your program can force a system reboot 14045: !!! if this resource leakage is not corrected. What else can I do to kill child processes? The forked process is created using the forkit method in Bot::BasicBot.

  • PHP Session variables not passing across pages

    Common problem, but I'm stumped. Session variables are passing across pages on my local (localhost) deployment, but not on my (www) host. I use a common includes file for each page with this code: $sessionDomain = "/"; @ini_set("session.cookie_path",$sessionDomain); $sessionName = "ccSID".md5('/store/'); session_name($sessionName); session_start(); I confirmed that the session ID cookie (ccSIDxxxxx...) remains the same across pages in my browser, but session variables don't seem to hold up when changing to a page in a different directory.

  • How to install missing Sound Drivers in Ubuntu?

    I seem to be missing drivers for my Gateway laptop MA7. I have looked in System-Admin-Hardware Drivers, but it does not show up in there.There are also no devices listed in Sound-Hardware. I'm guessing at this point that I don't have the driver installed.   • How to catch HttpAntiForgeryException in ASP.NET MVC

    I'm using the AntiForgeryToken in my ASP.NET MVC forms. If I deactivate cookies in my browser and send the from, I'd get following error message: A required anti-forgery token was not supplied or was invalid. How can I prevent this message from showing? I would prefer redirecting the user to another page. I've activated customErrors and included this HandleError in my controller: [HandleError(ExceptionType=typeof(HttpAntiForgeryException), View="Index")] public class MyController : Controller { ... } The HandleError is ignored. Has anyone got a solution?
