  • DataGridView: how to make scrollbar in sync with current cell selection?

    I have a windows application with DataGridView as data presentation. Every 2 minutes, the grid will be refreshed with new data. In order to keep the scroll bar in sync with the new data added, I have to reset its ScrollBars: dbv.Rows.Clear(); // clear rows SCrollBars sc = dbv.ScrollBars; dbv.ScrollBars = ScrollBars.None; // continue to populate rows such as dbv.Rows.Add(obj); dbv.ScrollBars = sc; // restore the scroll bar setting back With above codes, the scroll bar reappears fine after data refresh. The problem is that the application requires to set certain cell as selected after the refresh: dbv.CurrentCell = dbv[0, selectedRowIndex]; With above code, the cell is selected; however, the scroll bar's position does not reflect the position of the selected cell's row position. When I try to move the scroll bar after the refresh, the grid will jump to the first row. It seems that the scroll bar position is set back to 0 after the reset. The code to set grid's CurrentCell does not cause the scroll bar to reposition to the correct place. There is no property or method to get or set scroll bar's value in DataGriadView, as far as I know. I also tried to set the selected row to the top: dbv.CurrentCell = dbv[0, selectedRowIndex]; dbv.FirstDisplayedScrollingRowIndex = selectedRowIndex; The row will be set to the top, but the scroll bar's position is still out of sync. Not sure if there is any way to make scroll bar's position in sync with the selected row which is set in code?

  • How can something like BOSH be implemented using Java Servlets

    BOSH (Bidirectional-streams Over Synchronous HTTP) is a sneaky way of implementing 2-way client-server communication in situations where true server-push is not allowed, most obviously to let a server push data to a browser client without having to use client polling. It works by the client sending a request to the server, and the server doesn't respond immediately... rather it remembers the request but only responds when it has some data to send. When this happens the client immediately sends another request so there is virtually always a 'stored request' sitting on the server ready to push data to the client. At least, that's how I think it works! My question is how you can do this using a Java EE stack i.e standard servlets. I'm rusty with them, is it allowed to send no response and cache the request somehow? If anyone could share (pseudo) code what a servlet class for handling BOSH might look like, I'd be real grateful.

  • scala: Adding attributes (odd and even rows) to xml table

    In a Lift application, I’d like to add a special tag which takes the <tbody> part of the next table and adds odd and even classes (for example) to each <tr> tag. Alternating, of course. While I have found a way to add another attribute to all <tr> tags, there are still a few problems left (see code below). First, it doesn’t work. cycle.next is called too often, so in the end, everything is an odd row. Other problems are that the code doesn’t exclude inner tables (so a nested <tr> would be transformed as well) and that it also affects the <thead> part of the table. Ideas to make this code work?   • Can I use WCF in this case?

    We have a third party application that provied its web services to us by ASMX and it is created at the time of .NET 1.1 in the old days we were using VB 6.0 and connected to it by a PocketSOAP, etc... bt now we want to replace the VB 6.0 with C# 3.5 WinApps and still use that third party web services. so I wish to know what are my options for doing this? which one do you recommend and which one has a faster learning curve?     I want to make a .bat to copy & rename a file multiple times. I want to have a list of names, and an original file, then I want to copy that file and rename it for each name on the list. How I can do this using a .bat file? Also is it possible to run winrar fromthe .bat to .rar or .zip every file after copying/renaming?

  • Problem retrieving Hostaddress from Win32_TCPIPPrinterPort

    I'm running into an odd issue retrieving printer port addresses. When I get all the entries in Win32_TCPIPPrinterPort, the HostAddress field (which should have the IP address) is usually blank/null, only the port name has a value. To make it a bit stranger, if a particular port is not in use by any printer, THEN the HostAddress will have the the proper value. The C# code is simple, and results in something like this; IP_192.168.1.100, printerportxyz, richTextBox1.Clear(); ManagementObjectSearcher portSearcher = new ManagementObjectSearcher("root\\CIMV2", "SELECT * FROM Win32_TCPIPPrinterPort"); foreach (ManagementObject port in portSearcher.Get()) { richTextBox1.AppendText( String.Format("Name: {0} HostAddress: {1}", port["Name"], port["HostAddress"]) ); } I also tried the same thing in WSH/VBS, and saw the same behavior.

  • How can I make a view get bigger again, as soon as the status bar goes back to normal height after a

    In the simulator I went to Hardware menu and activated the simulation of bigger status bar during phone call. Now, I tried to make a view in my nib that takes up the whole screen. As soon as the status bar gets smaller, I want my view to get bigger, so it uses that space up there. But regardless of any autoresizing settings, my view will keep pressed down after that status bar gets smaller. There is a empty slot left where the status bar was after hanging up the call. What's that actually supposed to be? Is my app recognizing the status bar as a view, or is the status bar indeed making my screen smaller? I mean...does it mess around with my views as if it was a view itself, or do my views not know about a status bar, but about a smaller screen size when the status bar gets bigger? How do you get your views big again when the status bar returns to normal height?

  • ipad dev - in the UISplitViewController template, how is the method setDetailItem called?

    I am developing an ipad app which has a UISplitViewController. (I use IB to build the interface, but I do not use the template) Both master and detail (left and right) views are navigationController. The left view subclass UITableView and the right view should push another controller if the cell on the left is selected. I don't know how to make my detail view responds to my master view. Also, in the template, the detailViewController has a id detailItem and a method setDetailItem. How are these two connected? I cannot see any connection between but setDetailItem is called when detailViewController.detailItem is being called. Thanks in advance.

  • App Engine remote_api with OpenID

    Hi, I've recently tried to switch my app engine app to using openID, but I'm having an issue authenticating with remote_api. The old authentication mechanism for remote_api doesn't seem to work (which makes sense) - I'm getting a 'urllib2.HTTPError: HTTP Error 302: Found', which I assume is appengine redirecting me to the openid login page I've set up. I guess I'm missing something fairly obvious. Currently my remote_api script has the following in it - remote_api_stub.ConfigureRemoteDatastore(app_id=app_id, path='/remote_api', auth_func=auth_func, servername=host, secure=secure) where auth_func is def auth_func(): return raw_input('Username:'), getpass.getpass('Password:') Any ideas what I need to supply to remote_api? I guess similar issues would be encountered with bulkloader too. Cheers, Colin

  • A problem of a repeated parameter in the pagination links?

    The problem is that when I load page 2 for example the URL becomes: http://domain.com/index.php?restaurant-id=45&currentpage=2 And that's fine but when I get to page 3 it becomes: http://domain.com/index.php?restaurant-id=45&currentpage=2&currentpage=3 And so on, it adds one more currentpage parameter everytime a new page is loaded from the pagination links! I wonder how this problem can be fixed?     I am new to prolog. I need to write an integer adder that will add numbers between 0-9 to other numbers 0-9 and produce a solution 0-18. This is what I want to do: add(in1, in2, out) :- in1 < 10, in2 < 10, out < 18. I would like to be able to call it like this: To Check if it is a valid addition: ?- add(1,2,3). true ?- add(1,2,4). false With one missing variable: ?- add(X,2,3). 1 ?- add(1,4,X). 5 With multiple missing variables: ?-add(X,Y,Z). % Some output that would make sense. Some examples could be: X=1, Y=1, Z=2 ; X=2, Y=1, Z=3 ...... I realize that this is probably a pretty simplistic question and it is probably very straightforward. However cording to the prolog tutorial I am using: "Unlike unification Arithmetic Comparison Operators operators cannot be used to give values to a variable. The can only be evaluated when every term on each side have been instantiated."

    I have a datagridview with a datasource of type binding list. I understand that when the datagridview changed this will update the items in the binding list. I also know that if the objects in the bindinglist implement Inotifypropertychanged then if the obects are changed outside the grid then the objects will notify the bindlist which will then notify the datagrid My question is: If the datagrid view changing an object, I want the bindinglist or changed object to fire an event that allows me to pass the object to a WCF service that will persist the object on the data access layer side e.g. Service.Save(ChangedObject) How would I go about doing this?
