  • Drawing single pixel in Quartz

    - by wwrob
    I have an array of CGPoints, and I'd like to fill the whole screen with colours, the colour of each pixel depending on the total distance to each of the points in the array. The natural way to do this is to, for each pixel, compute the total distance, and turn that into a colour. Questions follow: 1) How can I colour a single pixel in Quartz? I've been thinking of making 1 by 1 rectangles. 2) Are there better, more efficient ways to achieve this effect?

  • jqgrid ASP.NET MVC -- getting data right for the grid.

    - by SamM09
    Here is my dilemma, I have not been able to manipulate my data to a form fitting to jqgrid standards. This is my first time using the jqgrid and I've spent a lot of time reading up on it. My js code is as follows: jQuery("#list").jqGrid({ url: '/Home/ListContacts/', dataType: "json", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", mtype: 'POST', colNames: ['First Name', 'MI', 'Last Name'], colModel: [ { name: 'First Name', index: 'FName', width: 40, align: 'left' }, { name: 'MI', index: 'MInitial', width: 40, align: 'left' }, { name: 'Last Name', index: 'LName', width: 400, align: 'left'}], pager: jQuery('#pager'), rowNum: 10, rowList: [5, 10, 20, 50], sortname: 'Id', sortorder: "desc", repeatitems: false, viewrecords: true, imgpath: '/scripts/themes/basic/images', caption: 'My first grid' }); }); what im getting from the database: [["4","Jenna","Mccarthy"],["56","wer","weoiru"]] Now correct me if I am wrong, but the index: in my colModel refers to the column names in my database right? Could someone point to a reference that is straight forward or just start me off with this I would be most grateful.

  • Android Mapview panning and zooming too slow........

    - by Pratap S
    I've developed a GPS app in which i record the user roots and show it on the map.......but Panning around on the map when reviewing my route is painfully slow, it takes at least 4 or 5 seconds for the map to respond the finger swipes...... I've overridden the onDraw() method and drawing the lines to show the routes......is there any better way to do this so that panning becomes faster as in "MyTracks"........... Thank you all..... • Other HTML serialisations?

    - by Delan Azabani
    After keeping in mind that HTML has both an SGML and XML serialisations, which are just encodings for a parser to "explode" into a DOM, I'm wondering whether there are other serialisations for HTML. A JSON serialisation? If so, are there any parsers for these alternative serialisations?

  • Can the features of Dell OpenManage be replaced by Microsoft System Center?

    - by bwerks
    Hi all, I'm new to both OpenManage and System Center, but it sounds as if they're geared towards similar problems/goals. Are the features comparable enough that OpenManage can be forgone completely in favor of System Center products? Specifically I'm hoping to achieve storage monitoring and remote administration, although if someone with experience with both wants to provide a quick compare/contrast (objective, of course) I won't complain. Thanks!

  • JACOB (Java/COM/ActiveX) - How to troubleshoot event handling?

    - by Youval Bronicki
    I'm trying to use JACOB to interact with a COM object. I was able to invoke an initialization method on the object (and to get its properties), but am not getting any events back. The code is quoted below. I have a sample HTML+Javascript page (running in IE) that successfully receives events from the same object. I'm considering the following options, but would appreciate any concrete troubleshooting ideas ... Send my Java program to the team who developed the COM object, and have them look for anything suspicious on their side (does the object have a way on knowing whether there's a client listening to its events, and whether they were successfully delivered?) Get into the native parts of JACOB and try to debug on that side. That's a little scary given that my C++ is rusty and that I've never programmed for Windows. public static void main(String[] args) { try { ActiveXComponent c = new ActiveXComponent( "CLSID:{********-****-****-****-************}"); // My object's clsid if (c != null) { System.out.println("Version:"+c.getProperty("Version")); InvocationProxy proxy = new InvocationProxy() { @Override public Variant invoke(String methodName, Variant[] targetParameters) { System.out.println("*** Event ***: " + methodName); return null; } }; DispatchEvents de = new DispatchEvents((Dispatch) c.getObject(), proxy); c.invoke("Init", new Variant[] { new Variant(10), //param1 new Variant(2), //param2 }); System.out.println("Wating for events ..."); Thread.sleep(60000); // 60 seconds is long enough System.out.println("Cleaning up ..."); c.safeRelease(); } } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } finally { ComThread.Release(); } }

  • How to create and restore a backup from SqlAlchemy?

    - by swilliams
    I'm writing a Pylons app, and am trying to create a simple backup system where every table is serialized and tarred up into a single file for an administrator to download, and use to restore the app should something bad happen. I can serialize my table data just fine using the SqlAlchemy serializer, and I can deserialize it fine as well, but I can't figure out how to commit those changes back to the database. In order to serialize my data I am doing this: from myproject.model.meta import Session from sqlalchemy.ext.serializer import loads, dumps q = Session.query(MyTable) serialized_data = dumps(q.all()) In order to test things out, I go ahead and truncation MyTable, and then attempt to restore using serialized_data: from myproject.model import meta restore_q = loads(serialized_data, meta.metadata, Session) This doesn't seem to do anything... I've tried calling a Session.commit after the fact, individually walking through all the objects in restore_q and adding them, but nothing seems to work. What am I missing? Or is there a better way to do what I'm aiming for? I don't want to shell out and directly touch the database, since SqlAlchemy supports different database engines.
