  • asp:CustomValidator / OnServerValidate

    - by Neil
    I have a CheckBoxList that I am trying to validate that at least one of the checkboxes is checked. Markup: <asp:CustomValidator ID="RequiredFieldValidator8" ValidationGroup="EditArticle" runat="server" ErrorMessage="At least one Category is required." OnServerValidate="topic_ServerValidate" /> <asp:CheckBoxList id="checkboxlistCategories" runat="server"></asp:CheckBoxList> Code-behind: protected void topic_ServerValidate(object source, ServerValidateEventArgs args) { int i = 0; foreach (ListItem item in checkboxlistCategories.Items) { if (item.Selected == true) i = i + 1; } if (i == 0) args.IsValid = false; else args.IsValid = true; } If I add ControlToValidate="checkboxlistCategories" in the CustomValidator control, it blows up! Am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

  • SHAREPOINT 2007 - Record Read Only

    - by Luis
    Hi All, In a "Issue" list, I have a mandatory field called "Status", to control the status (Identified, implemented, postponed, etc.). I need to control the behavior of each record based on that field content. For certain status the record should became read only, and only admin users should be able to edit / change it. Is there a way to implement this functionality? Thanks in advance. Regards Luis

  • How do I backup Credentials Manager passwords (Windows 7)

    - by Andrew J. Brehm
    I am trying to create a backup of my stored passwords in Credentials Manager. But after Windows switches to the secure desktop to get the password for the backup file it simply announced that "Your stored logon credentials could not be backed up" and gives as explanation "Element not found", neither of which is helpful. (In fact I hate the "X could not Y" type of error message). I am an administrator on the machine and there is only one password in Credentials Manager. The sole point of the backup is to create a nearly empty Credentials Manager so that I don't have to delete manually hundreds of password entries every time I have to change my domain password. (I think Microsoft haven't throught this through properly. There appears to be no way to delete more than one entry at a time.) Any ideas?

  • Relation between .p7b and .spc digital certificate files

    - by Frederick
    My company have just renewed their digital certificate from Thawte. The previous certificate I was using had an 'spc' extension. The new certificate I've been handed ends in a 'p7b'. Although I can use this p7b file directly for signing, I was just wondering whether there's some way to convert this to an spc file which I can then sign with as I was doing previously. Is it a recommended practice to use p7b directly for signing? Secondly, what exactly is the relation, if any, between the two types of files?

  • android: using listpreference and retrieving key string...

    - by Allan
    I have a settings menu that pops up and in it is a listpreference type menu. It is associated with a settings.xml file where there are 'array-strings' within it. It all works good but I don't know how to retrieve the users preference. As an example, let's say the user picks a color (red, green, or blue). The list that I've made within my 'array-strings' contain the text red, green, and blue. Within my code, I would like to do something if the user has choosen red, something else if they choose blue, etc., etc. Would I use a 'case' statement or an 'if' statement? And most importantly, how would I retrieve the users preference - the key? (am I checking for a boolean?) Help would be appreciated...thank you...

  • Problem with IE and Jquery qTip plugin

    - by user272899
    I am having problems with the Jquery qtip plugin. It works fine in Firefox (see here http://movieo.no-ip.org/ hover over the first image). But doesn't work in IE. This is the code: $('.moviebox').each(function() { $(this).qtip({ content: $(this).children('.info'), show: 'mouseover', hide: 'mouseout', style: { name: 'light' }, position: { corner: { target: 'rightbottom', tooltip: 'bottomleft' } } }); }); And the html <!--start moviebox--> <div class="moviebox"> <a href="#"> <img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_mySxtRcQIag/S6deHcoChaI/AAAAAAAAObc/Z1Xg3aB_wkU/s200/rising_sun.jpg" /> </a> <!--start infobox--> <div class="info"> <span>Rising Sun (2006)</span> <div class="description"><strong>Description:</strong><br /> test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test</div> <img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_mySxtRcQIag/S6deHcoChaI/AAAAAAAAObc/Z1Xg3aB_wkU/s200/rising_sun.jpg" /> <div class="cast"><strong>Cast:</strong><br /> Sean connery</div> <div class="rating"><strong>Rating:</strong><br />5stars</div> </div> <!--end infobox--> </div> <!--end moviebox--> Why wouldn't that work in IE?????   • Using URL Routing for Web Forms and StopRoutingHandler for Favicon

    - by RandomBen
    I have a website where I need to add a Favicon.ico. The site is written using ASP.NET 3.5 Web Forms with Routing. The issue is that the Favicon link always returns a page not found error. This is because the Routing does not know where the link for Favicon.ico should go to so it returns the Not Found page. I have tried to add a StopRoutingHandler for the the favicon but none of them seem to work. Below are the ones I have tried so far: routes.Add(new Route("MasterPages/{favicon}.ico", new StopRoutingHandler()));; routes.Add(new Route("{favicon}.ico", new StopRoutingHandler())); routes.Add(new Route("favicon.ico", new StopRoutingHandler())); routes.Add(new Route("favicon.ico/{*pathInfo}", new StopRoutingHandler())); Does anyone know what I should be using? My favicon.ico links I have tried look like this: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" /> <link rel="icon" href="/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" /> And they are inside of my tags.

  • c struct pointer issues

    - by clear2k
    I'm trying to cast a struct into another struct but I'm having incompatible pointer issues within the cast and the malloc under some_func (structs layout are the same) struct stu1 **some_func(struct stu1 *my_struct) { my_struct = (struct stu1 **)malloc(sizeof(struct stu1 *)*total_size); for(i=0;i<20;i++){ my_struct[i] = (struct stu1 *)malloc(sizeof(struct stu1)); printf("%s",my_struct[i++]->a); } } int main() { struct stu1 **my_struct; struct stu2 **my_struct2; struct stu3 **my_struct3; my_struct = some_func(my_struct); my_struct2 = (struct stu2**)some_func((struct stu1*)my_struct2); my_struct3 = (struct stu3**)some_func((struct stu1*)my_struct3); }

  • R error message about variable lengths

    - by Abraham
    I ran the following code in order to recode the variable. Unfortunately, when I move to run an logit model (using the Zelig package), I get an error message that the variable length differ for this variable. ## Independent Variable - Partisanship (ANES 2004) data04$V043114 part <- data04$V043114 attributes(part) summary(part) partb < part partb[part %in% levels(part)[4]] <- NA partb[part %in% levels(part)[5]] <- NA partb[part %in% levels(part)[6]] <- NA partb[part %in% levels(part)[7]] <- NA partb <- factor(partb) attributes(partb) summary(partb) table(partb) table(part, partb) cbind(part, partb) partisan041 <- partb partisan042 <- as.numeric(partb) summary(partisan041) summary(partisan042) ## Regression Model - ANES 2004 ## anes04one <- zelig(trade041a ~ age042 + education042 + personal042 + economy042 + partisan042 + employment042 + union042 + home042 + market042 + race042 + income042 + gender042, model="logit", data=data04) summary(anes04one) #Error in model.frame.default(formula = trade041a ~ age042 + education042 + : # variable lengths differ (found for 'partisan042')

  • Administrator's shortcut to batch file with double quoted parameters

    - by XXB
    Take an excruciatingly simple batch file: echo hi pause Save that as test.bat. Now, make a shortcut to test.bat. The shortcut runs the batch file, which prints "hi" and then waits for a keypress as expected. Now, add some argument to the target of the shortcut. Now you have a shortcut to: %path%\test.bat some args The shortcut runs the batch file as before. Now, run the shortcut as administrator. (This is on Windows 7 by the way.) You can use either right-click - Run as Administrator, or go to the shortcut's properties and check the box in the advanced section. Tell UAC that it's okay and once again the shortcut runs the batch file as expected. Now, change the arguments in the target of the shortcut to add double quotes: %path%\test.bat "some args" Now try the shortcut as administrator. It doesn't work this time! A command window pops up and and disappears too fast to see any error. I tried adding test.log 2&1 to the shortcut, but no log is created in this case. Try running the same shortcut (with the double quotes) but not as Administrator. It runs the batch file fine. So, it seems the behavior is not because of the double quoted parameters, and it's not because it's run as Administrator. It's some weird combination of the two. I also tried running the same command from an administrator's command window. This ran the batch file as expected without error. Running the shortcut from the command window spawned a new command window which flashed and went away. So apparently the issue is caused by a combination of administrator, the shortcut, and the double quotes. I'm totally stumped, does anyone have any idea what's going on?

  • What's the simplest way of defining lexicographic comparison for elements of a class?

    - by the_mandrill
    If I have a class that I want to be able to sort (ie support a less-than concept), and it has several data items such that I need to do lexicographic ordering then I need something like this: struct MyData { string surname; string forename; bool operator<(const MyData& other) const { return surname < other.surname || (surname==other.surname && forename < other.forename); } }; This becomes pretty unmanageable for anything with more than 2 data members. Are there any simpler ways of achieving it? The data members may be any Comparable class.

  • C# Menu Toolstrip Get Status

    - by Yeti
    So I have a project where there is some automatic initialization going on through some classes that are created automatically as global variables (deah they are static instances). At a point inside this (it has no relation with the C# GUI for the user, so it isn't derived from any C# class) I need to see if a flag is set or not. I use toolstrip menu with checked and unchecked status in order to set or unset the flag. The problem is that I have difficulties to see if the flag is checked or not from this static class. My class is inside a different project/namespace and a DLL is created what later is linked to the GUI of the application. The GUI depends from this Manager class so making the Manager class to depend from the GUI is not an option. Nevertheless, I should be able to see its state knowing its name or through some other means. I have tried the following: if(Application.OpenForms[1].Owner.Controls["useLocalImageForInitToolStripMenuItem"].Enabled) { }; Now the problem is that on the upper code snippet I get a nasty error. So how do I do this?

  • C# SqlDataReader = null?

    - by tom
    myConnection.Open(); SqlDataReader myreader; myreader = SqlCom.ExecuteReader(); int id = -1; ErrorBox.InnerHtml = "Username:" + sUserName + ":" + sPassword + ":<br/>"; while (myreader.HasRows) { id = (int)myreader["id"]; String sUser = (String)myreader["Username"]; String sPass = (String)myreader["Password"]; ErrorBox.InnerHtml += "UserId is <b>" + id + "</b> " + sUser + ":" + sPass + ":<br >"; Session["LoginID"] = id; Server.Transfer(ReturnPage); } if (id == -1) { ErrorBox.InnerHtml = "Incorrect Password"; } myConnection.Close(); I added a breakpoint at myreader = SqlCom.ExecuteReader(); and it keeps returning myreader as null and HasRows = False, but it does have rows. So, it keeps validating my login as incorrect since id = -1, Help?

  • How to get DayNames from language only in .NET

    - by ManniAT
    Assume that I only have a country code (en, de, fr) and I need to display the weekdays in this language. I know about RegionInfo and CultureInfo - but I can't find a solution. If I create a country info from (for an example) "en" I have no DateTime info in it. It would also be OK to just take the first matching Region. For an example en-US for en or de-DE for de. I don't know if there are differences in DayNames but I know there are some for the months. de-DE Februar - de-AT Feber -- anyhow I don't care. Event if it may be "a bit different" (to see Februar instead of Feber) - it is still German. And that's what I want to achive - get en an write Monday - get de and write Montag... Is there a way to create a region just from a language code?
