  • Mail.app does not show new mail when iPod touch is active

    I have synchronised the e-Mail settings of the iPod touch with the settings of my IMAP account in Mail.app. Now sometimes the iPod would show there are new mails with Mail.app totally ignoring their existence for hours. Only when Mail.app is restarted would these new mails show up. Is there anything I can do that Mail.app is up-to-date even though the iPod is running?

  • Issue with Visual C++ 2010 (Express) External Tools command

    Hi all, Normally we develop in VS 2005 Pro, but I wanted to give VS 2010 a spin. We have custom build tools based off of GNU make tools that are called when creating an executable. This is the error that I see whenever I call my external tool: ...\gnu\make.exe): *** couldn't commit memory for cygwin heap, Win32 error 487 The caveat is that it still works perfectly fine in VS2005, as well as being called straight from the command line. Also, my external tool is setup exactly the same as in VS 2005. Is there some setting somewhere that could cause this error to be thrown?

  • finding audio driver

    I have a soundcard in my new PC at work that does not have the right driver installed, and I'm not sure what the manufacturer is. (it's a generic PC running Windows XP) Is there a way to figure out what device it is w/o having to open the thing up or pester my IT department? When I look at it in Device Manager it says IDT High Definition Audio CODEC and when I look around in the Properties dialog boxes there's a Device Instance ID of HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_76C1&SUBSYS_12974001&REV_1001\4&3612FC2B&0&0001

  • JavaScript check if anonymous object has a method

    How can I check if an anonymous object that was created as such: var myObj = { prop1: 'no', prop2: function () { return false; } } does indeed have a prop2 defined? prop2 will always be defined as a function, but for some objects it is not required and will not be defined. I tried what was suggested here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/595766/how-to-determine-if-native-javascript-object-has-a-property-method but I don't think it works for anonymous objects .

  • jQuery: How to use modifier keys on form submit?

    Say I have a form that looks like this: [ Animal name input field ] Add button If I type a name and hit enter, an animal with the given name is added to a table. Works fine. What I would like now is to call the current way of working "quick add" and add a new feature called "slow add", which I am not quite sure how to do. Basically what I want is that if for example the shift key is held down when enter or the button is clicked, I want the form submit method to do something slightly different. In my case I want it to open up a form where more details on the animal can be added before it is added to the table. Problem is I'm not quite sure how to do this. I have tried add a FireBug console.info(eventData) in my current submit function and I have found that the eventData contains an altKey, shiftKey and controlKey property, but they are always undefined even when I hold those keys down. So, does anyone know how I can do something special in my submit handler when certain modifier keys were pressed when the form was submitted?

    Hi, I have a FQL statement like this: String query = "SELECT post_id, actor_id, target_id, created_time, message FROM stream WHERE source_id in (SELECT target_id FROM connection WHERE source_id=<userID>) AND is_hidden = 0"; I just wondering what kind of time Facebook gives to me. The result of my statement will be mapped to a wrapper object (wallpost). myDate.setTime(wallpost.getCreated_time()); gives me no valid date. Does anyone have an idea what kind of date Facebook returns and how to match it to Date()? thanks in advance!

My repository constructor takes in an ISession (since I will be using session per request in my web application). In my test fixture setup I configure NHibernate and build the session factory.   • .tpl files and website problem

    Apologies if the title is in lowercase but it's describing an extension format. I've started using Dwoo as my template engine for PHP, and am not sure how to convert my PHP files into .tpl templates. My site is similar to, but not the same as, http://library.digiguide.com/lib/programme/Medium-319648/Drama/ with its design (except colour scheme and site name are different, plus it's in PHP - so copyright issues are avoided here, the design arguably could be seen as parody even though the content is different. The database is called tvguide, and it has these tables: Programmes House M.D. Medium Police Stop! American Dad! The tablenames of the above programmes are: housemdonair mediumonair policestopair americandad1 Episodes The tablenames for the above programmes' episode guides are: housemdepidata mediumepidata policestopepidata americandad1epidata All of them have the following rows: id (not an auto-increment, since I wish to dynamically generate a page from this) episodename seriesnumber episodenumber episodesynopsis (the above four after id do exactly as stated) I have a pagination script that works, it displays 20 records per page as I want it to. This is called pmcPagination.php - but I won't post it in full since it would take up too much space. However, I'm trying to get it so that variables are filled in like this: (ok, so the examples below are ASP.NET, but if there's a PHP/MySQL equivalent I would gratefully appreciate this!!): http://library.digiguide.com/lib/episode/741168 http://library.digiguide.com/lib/episode/714829 with the episode detail and data. My site works, but it's fairly basic, and it's not online yet until my bugs are fixed. Mod_rewrite is enabled so my site reads as http://mytvguide.com/episode/123456 or http://mytvguide.com/programme/123456 http://mytvguide.com/WorldInAction/123456/Documentary/ I've tried looking on Google, but am not sure how to get this TV guide script to work at its best - but I think .tpl, and .php/MySQL is the way to go.   • Why does ElapsedTicks X 10 000 not equal ElapsedMilliseconds for .Net's Stopwatch?

    I am trying to performance test some code. I am using a stopwatch. When I output the number of milliseconds it always tells me 0 so I thought that I would try the number of ticks. I am seeing that the number of ticks is about 20 000 to 30 000. Looking at the MSDN at TimeSpan.TicksPerMillisecond it says that is 10 000 ticks per millisecond. In that case why are the elapsed milliseconds on my stopwatch not appearing as 2 or 3? What am I missing? I have even outputed the result on the same line. This is what I get. Time taken: 26856 ticks, 0 ms And it is constant.

  • C# directory to "play with"

    Simple question here. I have a C# program which needs to stores some files onto the hard drive, but I don't need them to be anywhere useful to the end-user, only somewhere that the program can read/write from. Is there a directory that I can reference programmatically to be my "filespace playground" - that is, that I can read/write freely to and from? EDIT: Also, if I use a temp directory, how long are the files guaranteed to be there? I don't want the them to disappear while my program is still running!

    Because IE won't do document.getElementById(ID).setAttribute('type','password') I've re-engineered the way the password field woirks on this site: http://devdae.dialanexchange.com/Default.aspx so it works in accordance with this idea: http://www.folksonomy.org/2009/01/12/changing-input-type-from-text-to-password-in-internet-explorer-hack/ It works fine in IE8 and FF3. It breaks in IE7 just as you click into the password field. I'm now tearing my hair out. Can anyone give me a clue what's wrong as IE7's diagnosis is just "Object expected, code 0"?

    Hi I am writing an iPhone app that that is trying to create a second a view when the user clicks on an element in UITableView. The code looks like ReplyToViewController *reply = [[ReplyToViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"ReplyTo" bundle:nil]; reply.delegate = self; Message *message = [resultData objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; int dbid = [message.bizid intValue]; NSLog(@"dbid=%d",dbid); reply.currentMessage = message; reply.modalTransitionStyle = UIModalTransitionStyleFlipHorizontal; [self presentModalViewController:reply animated:YES]; The reply object gets created properly and the view is proper. Last line in above code segment calls some framework code which eventually calls the viewDidLoad method of the ReplyToViewController. Address of the reply object in the above code and the address of the object in viewDidLoad is not same. Any idea where this new object is coming from? How do I debug? I also added init method the following method in ReplyToViewController hoping that it will get called and I can find who is creating this new object. But it does not stop in this method.   • How to optimize this simple function which translates input bits into words?

    I have written a function which reads an input buffer of bytes and produces an output buffer of words where every word can be either 0x0081 for each ON bit of the input buffer or 0x007F for each OFF bit. The length of the input buffer is given. Both arrays have enough physical place. I also have about 2Kbyte free RAM which I can use for lookup tables or so. Now, I found that this function is my bottleneck in a real time application. It will be called very frequently. Can you please suggest a way how to optimize this function?   • Value was either too large or too small for an Int16 error

    I am working on fixing a bug in VB that is giving this error. I am new to VB, so there is some syntax that I am not fully understanding. The code that is throwing the error says: .Row(itemIndex).Item("parentIndex") = CLng(oID) + 1000000 I understand that adding 1000000 is too much for an int16. I can't change that value (not right now anyway). What I don't understand, and can't seem to find, is what .Row is referring too. Any ideas?

  • database encryption questions

    We are using Sybase SQL Anywhere 11. We need to encrypt some of our tables in our database. I followed the instruction and did it. We selected the "strong" option with encryptionKey and AES256_FIPS algorithm. But there are something I am not clear about them. It will require encryptonKey when we create the database, remove the database and start the database server but it will NOT require encryptionKey when we stop the database server and connect to the server to create tables and add data. Why there is NO encryptionKey asked when we connect to it or try to stop the server? I am doing something wrong? don't know how to test the encryption? I still can see all plain text in the encrypted tables when I use Sybase Central tool. If somebody knows the database user name and password, he/she can connect to the database and read the content without the encryptionKey. is this right?
