  • How to run dubug file on another computer

    - by Pazzy
    I have a debug .exe file that i want to run on other machines that don't have MS Visual Studio 2008 installed on them. How can this be done? The release option doesn't work as the application does not function correctly when build in release (not sure why). At the moment I'm getting a message saying "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect". An ideas? Cheers.

  • CCSprite with actions crossing the screen boundaries (copy sprite problem)

    - by iostriz
    Let's say we have a CCSprite object that has an actions tied to it: -(void) moveJack { CCSpriteSheet *sheet = (CCSpriteSheet*)[self getChildByTag:kSheet]; CCSprite *jack = (CCSprite*)[sheet getChildByTag:kJack]; ... CCSequence *seq = [CCSequence actions: jump1, [jump1 reverse], jump2, nil]; [jack runAction:seq]; } If the sprite crosses over the screen boundary, I would like to display it at opposite side. So, original sprite is half displayed on the right side (for example), and half on the left side, because it has not fully crossed yet. Obviously (or is it), I need 2 sprites to achieve this. One on the right side (original), and one on the left side (a copy). The problem is - I don't know how to create exact copy of the original sprite, because tied actions have scaling and blending transformations (sprite is a bit distorted). I would like to have something like: CCSprite *copy = [[jack copy] autorelease]; so that I can add a copy to display it on the correct side (and kill it after transition is over). It should have all the actions tied to it... Any ideas?

  • How to reference a class that implements certain interface?

    - by vikp
    Hi, I have an interface for logging the exceptions, i.e. IExceptionLogger. This interface has 3 implementations: DBExceptionLogger, XMLExceptionLogger, CSVExceptionLogger. I have an application that will make a use of DBExceptionLogger. The application references only IExceptionLogger. How do I create an instance of DBExceptionLogger within the application. I can't reference the DBExceptionLogger directly since it will break the purpose of having IExceptionLogger interface. Thanks

  • How do I read hex numbers into an unsigned int in C [Solved]

    - by sil3nt
    I'm wanting to read hex numbers from a text file into an unsigned integer so that I can execute Machine instructions. It's just a simulation type thing that looks inside the text file and according to the values and its corresponding instruction outputs the new values in the registers. For example, the instructions would be: 1RXY - Save register R with value in memory address XY 2RXY - Save register R with value XY BRXY - Jump to register R if xy is this and that etc.. ARXY - AND register R with value at memory address XY The text file contains something like this each in a new line. (in hexidecimal) 120F B007 290B My problem is copying each individual instruction into an unsigned integer...how do I do this? #include <stdio.h> int main(){ FILE *f; unsigned int num[80]; f=fopen("values.txt","r"); if (f==NULL){ printf("file doesnt exist?!"); } int i=0; while (fscanf(f,"%x",num[i]) != EOF){ fscanf(f,"%x",num[i]); i++; } fclose(f); printf("%x",num[0]); }

  • ETag in Spring (ShallowEtagHeaderFilter)

    - by niklassaers
    Hi guys, I've followed http://static.springsource.org/spring/docs/3.0.2.RELEASE/spring-framework-reference/html/mvc.html#mvc-etag and put ShallowEtagHeaderFilter in my web.xml like this: <filter> <filter-name>etagFilter</filter-name> <filter-class>org.springframework.web.filter.ShallowEtagHeaderFilter</filter-class> </filter> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>etagFilter</filter-name> <servlet-name>myServlet</servlet-name> <!-- I've even tried <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern> --> </filter-mapping> But whenever I load my pages, I don't get any etag headers in my response. Any suggestions as to what might be going on? Is there any kind of ordering my filters should have? (I'm also using OpenSessionInViewFilter and DelegatingFilterProxy Cheers Nik

  • get and set for class in model - MVC 2 asp.net

    - by bergin
    Hi there, I want to improve the program so it has a proper constructor but also works with the models environment of MVC. I currently have: public void recordDocument(int order_id, string filename, string physical_path, string slug, int bytes) { ArchiveDocument doc = new ArchiveDocument(); doc.order_id = order_id; doc.filename = filename; doc.physical_path = physical_path; doc.slug = slug; doc.bytes = bytes; db.ArchiveDocuments.InsertOnSubmit(doc); } This obviously should be a constructor and should change to the leaner: public void recordDocument(ArchiveDocument doc) { db.ArchiveDocuments.InsertOnSubmit(doc); } with a get & set somewhere else - not sure of the syntax - do I create a partial class? so: creating in the somewhere repository - ArchiveDocument doc = new ArchiveDocument(order_id, idTaggedFilename, physical_path, slug, bytes); and then: namespace ordering.Models { public partial class ArchiveDocument { int order_id, string filename, string physical_path, string slug, int bytes; public archiveDocument(int order_id, string filename, string physical_path, string slug, int bytes){ this.order_id = order_id; etc } } How should I alter the code?

  • Implementing google dashboard type interface in asp.net

    - by Sam_Cogan
    I'm looking at implementing a Google IG type dashboard in a .net app. There are a number of options I've found to do this, and i'm trying to establish what is going to be the best to use, in terms of speed, versatility etc. So far the options I am looking at are either to use asp.net webparts and .net Ajax, this would make it quicker to build, but I'm concerned this is going to make the application bulky and slow, or using JQuery, and either .net MVC or Webforms, to custom build an interface. Does anyone have any thoughts on what the best option may be, or any options I may have missed? All I want to do here is to allow users to customise a dashboard with a number of components (which will be user controls). I do also have access to Telerik controls, but I'm not sure if they would be any use here.

  • django access to parent

    - by SledgehammerPL
    model: class Product(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length = 128) (...) def __unicode__(self): return self.name class Receipt(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=128) (...) components = models.ManyToManyField(Product, through='ReceiptComponent') def __unicode__(self): return self.name class ReceiptComponent(models.Model): product = models.ForeignKey(Product) receipt = models.ForeignKey(Receipt) quantity = models.FloatField(max_length=9) unit = models.ForeignKey(Unit) def __unicode__(self): return unicode(self.quantity!=0 and self.quantity or '') + ' ' + unicode(self.unit) + ' ' + self.product.genitive And now I'd like to get list of the most often useable products: ReceiptComponent.objects.values('product').annotate(Count('product')).order_by('-product__count' the example result: [{'product': 3, 'product__count': 5}, {'product': 6, 'product__count': 4}, {'product': 5, 'product__count': 3}, {'product': 7, 'product__count': 2}, {'product': 1, 'product__count': 2}, {'product': 11, 'product__count': 1}, {'product': 8, 'product__count': 1}, {'product': 4, 'product__count': 1}, {'product': 9, 'product__count': 1}] It's almost what I need. But I'd prefer having Product object not product value, because I'd like to use this in views.py for generating list.

  • Combining foreach and using

    - by apoorv020
    I'm iterating over a ManageObjectCollection.( which is part of WMI interface). However the important thing is, the following line of code. : foreach (ManagementObject result in results) { //code here } The point is that ManageObject also implements IDisposable, so I would like to put "result" variable in a using block. Any idea on how to do this, without getting too weird or complex?

  • Sessions not persisting between requests

    - by klonq
    My session objects are only stored within the request scope on google app engine and I can't figure out how to persist objects between requests. The docs are next to useless on this matter and I can't find anyone who's experienced a similar problem. Please help. When I store session objects in the servlet and forward the request to a JSP using: getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/example.jsp").forward(request,response); Everything works like it should. But when I store objects to the session and redirect the request using: response.sendRedirect("/example/url"); The session objects are lost to the ether. In fact when I dump session key/value pairs on new requests there is absolutely nothing, session objects only appear within the request scope of servlets which create session objects. It appears to me that the objects are not being written to Memcache or Datastore. In terms of configuring sessions for my application I have set <sessions-enabled>true</sessions-enabled> In appengine-web.xml. Is there anything else I am missing? The single paragraph of documentation on sessions also notes that only objects which implement Serializable can be stored in the session between requests. I have included an example of the code which is not working below. The obvious solution is to not use redirects, and this might be ok for the example given below but some application data does need to be stored in the session between requests so I need to find a solution to this problem. EXAMPLE: The class FlashMessage gives feedback to the user from server-side operations. if (email.send()) { FlashMessage flash = new FlashMessage(FlashMessage.SUCCESS, "Your message has been sent."); session.setAttribute(FlashMessage.SESSION_KEY, flash); // The flash message will not be available in the session object in the next request response.sendRedirect(URL.HOME); } else { FlashMessage flash = new FlashMessage(FlashMessage.ERROR, FlashMessage.INVALID_FORM_DATA); session.setAttribute(FlashMessage.SESSION_KEY, flash); // The flash message is displayed without problem getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher(Templates.CONTACT_FORM).forward(request,response); } FlashMessage.java import java.io.Serializable; public class FlashMessage implements Serializable { private static final long serialVersionUID = 8109520737272565760L; // I have tried using different, default and no serialVersionUID public static final String SESSION_KEY = "flashMessage"; public static final String ERROR = "error"; public static final String SUCCESS = "success"; public static final String INVALID_FORM_DATA = "Your request failed to validate."; private String message; private String type; public FlashMessage (String type, String message) { this.type = type; this.message = message; } public String display(){ return "<div id='flash' class='" + type + "'>" + message + "</div>"; } }

  • Using the same CArchive object for archive and un-archive

    - by bdhar
    Following is a sample code: CFile serFile; serFile.Open(_T("Person.ser"), CFile::modeCreate | CFile::modeWrite); CArchive writer(&serFile, CArchive::store); me.Serialize(writer); writer.Close(); serFile.Close(); serFile.Open(_T("Person.ser"), CFile::modeRead); CArchive reader(&serFile, CArchive::load); CPerson clone; clone.Serialize(reader); reader.Close(); serFile.Close(); Here, I have a writer which archives the object me. Then, I use another CArchive object reader to un-archive it. Is it possible to re-construct or set any property of writer to make it, the reader instead of declaring another CArchive object reader? Thanks.

  • Pattern Matching with XSLT

    - by genesis11
    I'm trying to match a pattern into a string in XSLT/XPath using the matches function, as follows: <xsl:when test="matches('awesome','awe')"> ... </xsl:when> However, in both Firefox 3.5.9 and IE8, it doesn't show up. IE8 tells me that "'matches' is not a valid XSLT or XPath function." Is this due to XSLT 2.0 not being supported, and is there a way around this?

  • Elmah sends error mail on development server, but not on production

    - by Adrian Grigore
    Hi, I am trying to set up Elmah so that it sends me an e-mail when a new error occurs. This works fine on my development server, but on the production server no e-mail is sent. The exception is logged on the production server, it's just the e-mail that does not get sent. Here are my elmah configuration settings: <elmah> <security allowRemoteAccess="yes"/> <errorMail from="<MYGOOGLELOGIN>@googlemail.com" to="<MYGOOGLELOGIN>@googlemail.com" subject="ERROR From Elmah" async="false" smtpPort="587" useSsl="true" smtpServer="smtp.gmail.com" userName="<MYGOOGLELOGIN>@googlemail.com" password="<MYGOOGLEPASSWORD>" /> </elmah> I've tried different mail servers, both local and remote, and I tried both synchronous and asynchronous mail sending but to no avail. Now I don't have the slightest idea how to proceed (apart from debugging Elmah on my production server, which seems like a lot of effort to set up). Please help! Thanks, Adrian Edit: I might also add that I tried switching off the firewall on the production server, but that did not make any difference either.

  • NHibernate 2 Beginner's Guide Review

    - by Ricardo Peres
    OK, here's the review I promised a while ago. This is a beginner's introduction to NHibernate, so if you have already some experience with NHibernate, you will notice it lacks a lot of concepts and information. It starts with a good description of NHibernate and why would we use it. It goes on describing basic mapping scenarios having primary keys generated with the HiLo or Identity algorithms, without actually explaining why would we choose one over the other. As for mapping, the book talks about XML mappings and provides a simple example of Fluent NHibernate, comparing it to its XML counterpart. When it comes to relations, it covers one-to-many/many-to-one and many-to-many, not one-to-one relations, but only talks briefly about lazy loading, which is, IMO, an important concept. Only Bags are described, not any of the other collection types. The log4net configuration description gets it's own chapter, which I find excessive. The chapter on configuration merely lists the most common properties for configuring NHibernate, both in XML and in code. Querying only talks about loading by ID (using Get, not Load) and using Criteria API, on which a paging example is presented as well as some common filtering options (property equals/like/between to, no examples on conjunction/disjunction, however). There's a chapter fully dedicated to ASP.NET, which explains how we can use NHibernate in web applications. It basically talks about ASP.NET concepts, though. Following it, another chapter explains how we can build our own ASP.NET providers using NHibernate (Membership, Role). The available entity generators for NHibernate are referred and evaluated on a chapter of their own, the list is fine (CodeSmith, nhib-gen, AjGenesis, Visual NHibernate, MyGeneration, NGen, NHModeler, Microsoft T4 (?) and hbm2net), examples are provided whenever possible, however, I have some problems with some of the evaluations: for example, Visual NHibernate scores 5 out of 5 on Visual Studio integration, which simply does not exist! I suspect the author means to say that it can be launched from inside Visual Studio, but then, what can't? Finally, there's a chapter I really don't understand. It seems like a bag where a lot of things are thrown in, like NHibernate Burrow (which actually isn't explained at all), Blog.Net components, CSS template conversion and web.config settings related to the maximum request length for file uploads and ending with XML configuration, with the help of GhostDoc. Like I said, the book is only good for absolute beginners, it does a fair job in explaining the very basics, but lack a lot of not-so-basic concepts. Among other things, it lacks: Inheritance mapping strategies (table per class hierarchy, table per class, table per concrete class) Load versus Get usage Other usefull ISession methods First level cache (Identity Map pattern) Other collection types other that Bag (Set, List, Map, IdBag, etc Fetch options User Types Filters Named queries LINQ examples HQL examples And that's it! I hope you find this review useful. The link to the book site is https://www.packtpub.com/nhibernate-2-x-beginners-guide/book

  • SharePoint Session Management - which SQL Server option?

    - by frumious
    We're developing some custom web parts for our WSS 3 intranet, and have just run into something we'd like to use ASP.NET sessions for. This isn't currently enabled on the development server. We'd like to use SQL Server as the storage mechanism, because the production environment is a web farm with very simple load-balancing. There are 3 options you can choose from to set up the SQL Server session storage, tempdb, default separate DB, named DB. Both tempdb and default separate DB create a new DB to store certain information in; tempdb stores the actual session info in tempdb, which doesn't survive a reboot, and default separate DB stores everything in the new DB. Since you've got to create the new DB either way, my question is this: why would you ever choose to store the session info in tempdb? The only thing I can think of is if you'd like to have the ability to wipe the session by rebooting the server, but that seems quite apocalyptic!

  • Obscure Operating Systems

  • django inner redirects

    - by Zayatzz
    Hello I have one project that in my own development computer (uses mod_wsgi to serve the project) caused no problems. In live server (uses mod_fastcgi) it generates 500 though. my url conf is like this: # -*- coding: utf-8 -*- from django.conf.urls.defaults import * # Uncomment the next two lines to enable the admin: from django.contrib import admin admin.autodiscover() urlpatterns = patterns('', url(r'^admin/', include(admin.site.urls)), url(r'^', include('jalka.game.urls')), ) and # -*- coding: utf-8 -*- from django.conf.urls.defaults import * from django.contrib.auth import views as auth_views urlpatterns = patterns('jalka.game.views', url(r'^$', view = 'front', name = 'front',), url(r'^ennusta/(?P<game_id>\d+)/$', view = 'ennusta', name = 'ennusta',), url(r'^login/$', auth_views.login, {'template_name': 'game/login.html'}, name='auth_login'), url(r'^logout/$', auth_views.logout, {'template_name': 'game/logout.html'}, name='auth_logout'), url(r'^arvuta/$', view = 'arvuta', name = 'arvuta',), ) and .htaccess is like that: Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteOptions MaxRedirects=10 # RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} . • In threads, WaitForMultipleObjects never returns if set to INFINITE

    - by AKN
    Let say I have three thread handles HandleList[0] = hThread1; HandleList[1] = hThread2; HandleList[2] = hThread3; /*All the above are of type HANDLE*/ Before closing the application, I want the thread to get its task done. So I want to make app wait till thread completes. So I do, WaitForMultipleObjects(3, HandleList, TRUE, INFINITE ); By this I'm able to make the thread, complete its task. But control never move to next line after the call to WaitForMultileObjects irrespective of all thread completing its task. If I use, some seconds instead of INFINITE, it comes to next line after that many secs, irrspective of whether thread completes its task or not. WaitForMultipleObjects(3, HandleList, TRUE, 10000 ); My problem here is, I'm can't go for seconds, as I may not be sure whether the threads will complete its task with the given time. To list my problem in simple words, I want all my thread to finish the task, before I close my app. How can I achieve it using WaitForMultipleObjects API?

  • Open HTML as XHTML

    - by rybz
    Hi, Having an .html file is it possible to force the browser to treat the contents as XHTML? I mean the file opened from both local or web location. Maybe some on-the-fly convertion or something like that? The background: Firefox and Opera supports natively MathML when the code is embedded in a XHTML file. I need to get a .html file with MathML that would be supported by the mentioned browsers properly. Thank you for any support.
