In this example consider the following 5 tables: asset, server, laptop, desktop, software All tables have a primary key of id, which is a unique asset id. Every object has all asset attributes and then depending on type of asset has additional attributes in the corresponding table. If the type is a server, desktop or laptop it also has items in the software table.     How can I list the numbers 01 to 12 (one for each of the 12 months) in such a way so that the current month always comes last where the oldest one is first. In other words, if the number is grater than the current month, it's from the previous year. e.g. 02 is Feb, 2011 (the current month right now), 03 is March, 2010 and 09 is Sep, 2010 but 01 is Jan, 2011. In this case, I'd like to have [09, 03, 01, 02].   • MySql: Query multiple identical dynamic tables.

    I have a database with 500+ tables, each with identical structure, that contain historical data from sensors. I am trying to come up with a query that will locate, for example, all instances where sensor n exceeds x. The problem is that the tables are dynamic, the query must be able to dynamically obtain the list of tables. I can query information_schema.tables to get a list of the tables, like so: SELECT table_name FROM information_schema.tables WHERE table_schema = 'database_name'; I can use this to create a loop in the program and then query the database repeatedly, however it seems like there should be a way to have MySql do the multiple table search. I have not been able to make a stored procedure that works, but the examples I can find are generally for searching for a string in any column. I want to specifically find data in a specific column that exists in all tables. I admit I do not understand how to properly use stored procedures nor if they are the appropriate solution to this problem. An example query inside the loop would be: SELECT device_name, sensor_value FROM device_table WHERE sensor_value > 10; Trying the following does not work: SELECT device_name, sensor_value FROM ( SELECT table_name FROM information_schema.tables WHERE table_schema = 'database_name' ) WHERE sensor_value > 10; It results in an error: "Every derived table must have its own alias." The goal is to have a list of all devices that have had a given sensor value occur anywhere in their log (table). Ultimately, should I just loop in my program once I've obtained a list of tables, or is there a query structure that would be more efficient?

    I currently have a website source code (no control over the source) which contains certain content that needs to be manipulated. This would be simple on the surface, however there is no unique ID attribute on the tag in question that can uniquely identify it, and therefore allow for further traversal. Here is a snippet of the source code, surrounding the tag in question. ... <td width="100%"> <!--This table snaps the content columns(one or two)--> <table border="0" width="100%"> ... Essentially, the HTML comment stuck out as an easy way to gain access to that element. Using the JQuery comment add-on from this question, and some help from snowlord comment below, I have been able to identify the comment and retrieve the following output using the 'dump' extension. $('td').comments().filter(":contains('This table snaps the content columns(one or two)')").dump(); returns; jQuery Object { 0 = DOMElement [ nodeName: DIV nodeValue: null innerHTML: [ 0 = String: This table snaps the content columns(one or two) ] ] } However I am not sure how to traverse to the sibling element in the DOM. This should be simple, but I haven't had much selector experience with JQuery. Any suggestions are appreciated.

    I need to create a chat layout that uses all the available space and scales nicely, but has few fixed sizes. Here's the structure: <table style="width: 100%; height: 100%"> <tr> <td></td> <td style="width: 200px; background: red;"></td> </tr> <tr> <td style="height: 100px; background: blue"></td> <td></td> </tr> </table> However, I want to place a lot of content in the first table cell and I want it to scroll, so it won't expand the table. Is it possible to make it overflow properly, without having a fixed height for the cell? Simply adding overflow: auto doesn't seem to work. PS. I hate tables, but can't figure out a very clean and cross-browser way to do a layout like this with divs and css. If someone can come up with one, I'll gladly use it.

When I create an HHP file using new project option and then compile it to create another CHM file. Now these two CMH files are not of same size and they behave differently. Am I missing something here? I am simply decompiling and re-compiling the same CHM file but the result is different.

    I have a folder structure that contains multiple javascript files, each of these files need a standard piece of text at the top = //@include "includes.js" Each folder needs to contain a file named includes.js that has an include entry for each file in its directory and and entry for the include file in its parent directory. I'm trying to achive this using ant and its not going too well. So far I have the following, which does the job of inserting the header but not without actually moving or copying the file.   • Using Javascript to generate and save a file

    I've been fiddling with WebGL lately, and have gotten a Collada reader working. Problem is it's pretty slow (Collada is a very verbose format), so I'm going to start converting files to a easier to use format (probably JSON). Thing is, I already have the code to parse the file in Javascript, so I may as well use it as my exporter too! The problem is saving. Now, I know that I can parse the file, send the result to the server, and have the browser request the file back from the server as a download. But in reality the server has nothing to do with this particular process, so why get it involved? I already have the contents of the desired file in memory. Is there any way that I could present the user with a download using pure javascript? (I doubt it, but might as well ask...) And to be clear: I am not trying to access the filesystem without the users knowledge! The user will provide a file (probably via drag and drop), the script will transform the file in memory, and the user will be prompted to download the result. All of which should be "safe" activities as far as the browser is concerned.

    I work for a transit agency and I have large amounts of data (mostly times), and I need a way to filter the data using two textboxes (To and From). I found jQuery quick search, but it seems to only work with one textbox. If anyone has any ideas via jQuery or some other client side library, that would be fantastic.   • Best way to generate an automated report in Google Analytics for a specific collection of URLs

    Currently using Google Analytics as a supplement to our paid tracking software, but neither of them are giving us exactly what we need. I have a list of about 60 or so urls (out of about 1500) on the site that I wish to setup a monthly report for that can be emailed to multiple recipients. I can't seem to figure out how to create a report showing just the hits on these 60 urls, I can apply advanced filters on the content page but those disappear after a while and sometimes error out when adding too many URL's. Is there a method I'm missing in Google Analytics to achieve this goal or am I better running an SSIS package to pull the URL's from the API and formatting a document that way?

    I have followed this article and implemented my service and I can open the web browser and see the test data being published. I would like to create a custom formatted response, as for my needs this will not be published to the internet and it's an isolated feed that other devices on the local network could read to get the data I'm publishing. I'd like to create an XML document and publish it instead of using the SyndicationItem that is being used in the article to display title, author, description, etc. Would like to create something simple to be published: <MyData> <ID>33883</ID> <Title>The Name</Title> <Artist>The Artist</Artist> </MyData> I know how to create that in an XMLWriter, but how to publish in a SyndicationFeedFormatter that is the return type for the function in the article? I have seen the XmlSyndicationContent class but haven't seen any practical examples that would accomplish what I want to do.
