  • No Audio from Windows XP after formatting.

    Hello folks, I have reinstalled in my Windows XP machine. After it is re-isntalled the audio in my machine has failed. I have installed all the device drivers in my mother board. The Realtek Sound driver is also installed. Note: Sound is working when I test the surround settings test in my RealTek program, but unable to play any audio, tried playing both in my local machine and from the internet. Any clues to troubleshoot?

    Just now , I try to install the Jungo WinDriver in the Ubuntu 13.10 . But I am puzzled by the its manual : 4.2.3. Linux WinDriver Installation Instructions 4.2.3.1. Preparing the System for Installation In Linux, kernel modules must be compiled with the same header files that the kernel itself was compiled with. Since WinDriver installs kernel modules, it must compile with the header files of the Linux kernel during the installation process. Therefore, before you install WinDriver for Linux, verify that the Linux source code and the file version.h are installed on your machine: Install the Linux kernel source code: If you have yet to install Linux, install it, including the kernel source code, by following the instructions for your Linux distribution. If Linux is already installed on your machine, check whether the Linux source code was installed. You can do this by looking for 'linux' in the /usr/src directory. If the source code is not installed, either install it, or reinstall Linux with the source code, by following the instructions for your Linux distribution. Install version.h: The file version.h is created when you first compile the Linux kernel source code. Some distributions provide a compiled kernel without the file version.h. Look under /usr/src/linux/include/linux to see whether you have this file.   • Removing demo of a program when it insists that the full version be removed first

    I have a program that i both recently installed the demo for, and just installed the full version of. When i try to uninstall the demo, it says that an existing version of the program was found at the full program's path, and must be removed before the installer can be launched. I just want to uninstall the demo; is there any way without removing the full version of the software? (if it matters, it's Sins of a Solar Empire, but i'm hoping it won't get closed as that's merely incidental)

  • Do these 3 crashes have something in common?

    I'm running OS X 10.6.8 on a Mac Mini. I tried to install 3 applications today and all 3 installations failed. I am wondering if the failures have something in common. First I installed GraphViz. The installation succeeded, but when I try to open any .dot file, I get a dialog that says GraphViz has quit unexpectedly. Next I installed Doxygen. It installed, but when I try to launch it I get a dialog that tells me Doxywizard quit unexpectedly. After some googling I thought perhaps my system lacked QT, and that was the problem. I downloaded the Qt 4.8.4 packages and installed them. But when I try to launch qtdemo.app, or any of the other apps that came with the qt installation, I get a dialog that says I can't open the app because it's not supported on this type of Mac. I have crash logs from GraphViz and Doxygen. They're long and I think it unnecessary to post them unless they would help someone determine my problem.   • Sympa install on CentOS/Fedora

But I don't have the ribbon. I have the old menu and toolbar structure. How do I switch to the ribbon view?

  • My network drive disappears from Mac OS Finder

    I have recently bought a Netgear WNDR3800 router to use it in my home network. But just the same day I installed it, I noticed a strange behaviour of Finder and iTunes. Let me explain it further. There is a Synology DS111 NAS attached to that router and two Macs with Mac OS X Lion. One of them is connected by a cable and the second one wirelessly. Before I changed my router to the new one I mentioned above, Finder always used to display my NAS on its sidebar. So I could just click its network name to access shared folders existing on it. But after I installed WNDR3800, I can no longer access the NAS that way. It is no longer displayed. I always have to mount it manually by typing its IP address using the Finder's 'connect to server' option. The same NAS supports TimeMachine backups and has an inbuilt DLNA server. And the same situation here. I can't perform a backup because my NAS is no longer accessible in TimeMachine preferences. iTunes does not display it as well (as a multimedia server) even though it used to before I installed that router. What's important, everything works fine for a couple of minutes after I restart the router or the NAS. Or even when I change the NAS's IP address it becomes accessible again in Finder, TimeMachine and iTunes, but only for some time. Both the Mac computers I mentioned behave the same way. And all those issues have been taking place sice I installed that new router. Before I did that, everything had worked fine. My old router was Netgear WGR614v10. Would you be so kind to tell me what you think could possibly be the reason of that behaviour? What settings of the router should I look closer at? I'm not a network specialist, but is it possible that some network packets are blocked for some reason? I will be grateful for any clues you give me. Thank you.

    HI all, I recently purchases a bunch of r710 from dell, i installed esx on it. the installation process finished without a problem. however once the esx boot the following error displays at the botton with red letters 00:00:02:21.493 cpu11:4119) mod:2971: Initialization for vmfs2 failed with -1 i installed on two different servers and the same error pops up. the curius thing is that if i install esxi 3.5 or 4 there is not problem help Thanks Oscar

    I installed a SSD disk in my computer and installed Windows 7 in it. I disabled defragmentation on the disk. Now when I try to partition my other disk I'm getting an error Virtual Disk Manager The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. Well, I'm not willing to enable defragmentation because it makes the lifespan of the SSD shorter. Solutions? Thanks

When two administrators log into the machine at the same time, the last admin to save will persist their configurations, while the first admin's saves will be lost. I have installed Clamav and it has managed to pickup the infected files which have a pattern of starting with either /*km0ae9gr6m*/ or /*gootkitstart*/ and ending with /*qhk6sa6g1c*/ or /*gootkitend*/ My Plesk panel is up to date and security patches were installed. How can I isolate the security vulnerability on the server?

    This particular problem has little do with SubVersion Repositories and more to do with the management of installed programs. My question revolves around the problem of installing a program from source. If I where to build a distro with no package management system what possibilities would I have for maintaining the program is up to date. My only idea would be to keep a record of all the programs installed from source and perform a periodic check to identify if a new version is out.

  • CentOS PHP Sessions not working even though the PHP Info page says it is

    I have PHP installed properly from the Remi repo on CentOS 6 (64 bit). As shown in the image above, the PHP information page shows sessions as working and installed, yet I get this error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function session_create() in /var/www/lighttpd/index.php on line 1 I've tried multiple reinstalls, different PHP RPM's, and yet nothing will get sessions going. How can I get PHP sessions working?
