  I have this code in one of my @PersistenceCapable classes: @Persistent private Blob data; The Blob can be quite big, so I'd like to load it lazily since most of the times I don't need it. How can I annotate that property to avoid immediate loading? I could create another class that contains the Blob alone and then use a lazy one-to-one, but I'd like to solve this with annotations.

  We have a Drupal website with a seperate RSS feed for every blogger on the site. There will be an indeterminate number of new users signing up and blogging in the future. Drupal automatically generates an RSS feed for each new blog. Is there a way to automatically burn each feed as well? We'd like to avoid manually adding a new feed to Feedburner every time a new user starts their blog.

  I'm coding a WYSIWYG editor width designMode="on" on a iframe. The editor works fine and i store the code as is in the database. Before outputing the html i need to "clean" with php on the server-side to avoid cross-site-scripting and other scary things. Is there some sort of best practice on how to do this?   Scenario is very simple somewhere in the code I have this dynamic myVariable = GetDataThatLooksVerySimilarButNotTheSame(); //how to do this? if (myVariable.MyProperty.Exists) //Do stuff So basically the question is how to check (avoiding exceptions) that a certain property is available in my dynamic variable.   I'm trying to match a SEDOL (exactly 7 chars: 6 alpha-numeric chars followed by 1 numeric char) My regex ([A-Z 0-9]{6})[0-9]{1} matches correctly but strings greater than 7 chars that begin with a valid match also match (if you see what I mean :)). For example: B3KMJP4 matches correctly but so does: B3KMJP4x which shouldn't match. Can anyone show me how to avoid this?

• How significant are JPA lazy loading performance benefits?

  I understand that this is highly specific to the concrete application, but I'm just wondering what's the general opinion, or at least some personal experiences on the issue. I have an aversion towards the 'open session in view' pattern, so to avoid it, I'm thinking about simply fetching everything small eagerly, and using queries in the service layer to fetch larger stuff. Has anyone used this and regretted it? And is there maybe some elegant solution to lazy loading in the view layer that I'm not aware of?
