  • javascript accordion - tracking time question

    - by JohnMerlino
Hey all, I was reading up on this javascript tutorial: http://www.switchonthecode.com/tutor...ccordion-menus Basically, it shows you how to create an accordion using pure javascript, not jquery. All made sense to me until the actual part of tracking the animation. He says "Because of all that, the first thing we do in the animation function is figure out how much time has passed since the last animation iteration." And then uses this code: Code: var elapsedTicks = curTick - lastTick; lastTick is equal to the value of when the function was called (Date().getTime()) and curTick is equal to the value when the function was received. I don't understand why we are subtracting one from the other right here. I can't imagine that there's any noticeable time difference between these two values. Or maybe I'm missing something. Is that animate() function only called once every time a menu title is clicked or is it called several times to create the incremental animation effect? setTimeout("animate(" + new Date().getTime() + "," + TimeToSlide + ",'" + openAccordion + "','" + nID + "')", 33); Thanks for any response.

  • question on find value in array

    - by davit-datuashvili
i have seen a few days ago such problem there is given two array find elements which are common of these array one of the solution was sort big array and then use binary search algorithm and also there is another algorithm- brute-force algorithm for (int i=0;i<array1.length;i++){ for (int j=0;j<array2.length;j++){ if (array1[i]==array2[j]){ //code here } } it's complexity is O(array1.length*array2.length); and i am interested the first method's complexity is also same yes? because we should sort array first and then use search method binary search algorithm's complexity is log_2(n) so it means that total time will be array.length*log_2(n) and about sort? please explain me which is better

  • JSF managed bean question

    - by Nitesh Panchal
Hello, I have one page which uses <ui:insert> called master.xhtml which uses one managedbean named MasterBean.java and its of viewScoped. It calls webservice and has all useful data which will be useful in master.xhtml as well as page which is built using master.xhtml (which uses <ui:include>). When i visit data.xhtml (which uses template as master.xhtml) and which uses managed bean as DataBean.java which is also of view scoped, how do i use MasterBean? If i directly use #{Masterbean.property}, won't it create a new instance again? or will it use the bean which is already in view scope? Also how do i use MasterBean in DataBean in such a way that existing MasterBean's instance is used in DataBean. I don't want new instance of MasterBean in DataBean. Thanks in advance. If i am not clear please let me know.

  • Mysql question about UPDATE

    - by Beck
UPDATE counter_reports SET `counter`=`counter`+1,`date`=? WHERE report_id IN( (SELECT report_id FROM counter_reports WHERE report_name="emails_sent" AND `year`=1 ORDER BY report_id DESC LIMIT 1), (SELECT report_id FROM counter_reports WHERE report_name="emails_sent" AND `month`=1 ORDER BY report_id DESC LIMIT 1), (SELECT report_id FROM counter_reports WHERE report_name="emails_sent" AND `week`=1 ORDER BY report_id DESC LIMIT 1), (SELECT report_id FROM counter_reports WHERE report_name="emails_sent" AND `day`=1 ORDER BY report_id DESC LIMIT 1) ) Is there any alternative for such sql? I need to update(increment by 1) last counter reports for day, week, month and year. If I'm adding manually, sql works fine, but with subqueries it fails to launch. Thanks. :)

  • rails route question

    - by badnaam
I am trying to build a search functionality which at a high level works like this. 1 - I have a Search model, controller with a search_set action and search views/partial to render the search. 2 - At the home page a serach form is loaded with an empty search object or a search object initialized with session[:search] (which contains user search preferences, zip code, proximity, sort order, per page etc). This form has a post(:put) action to search_set. 3 - When a registered user performs a set the params of the search form are collected and a search record is saved against that user. If a unregistered user performs a search then the search set action simply stores the params in the session[:search]. In either case, the search is executed with the given params and the results are displayed. At this point the url of in the location bar is something like.. http://localhost:3000/searches/search_set?stype=1 At this point if the user simply hits enter on the location bar, I get an error that says "No action responded to show" I am guessing because the URL contains search_set which uses a put method and even though I have a search_show (:get) action (which simply reruns the search in the session or saved in the database) does not get called. How can I handle this situation where I can route a user hitting enter into the location bar to a get method? If this does not explain the problem , please let me know I can share more details/code etc. Thanks!

  • SQL Modify question

    - by Jeff
I need to replace a lot of values for a Table in SQL if the inactivity is greater then 30 days. I have UPDATE VERSION SET isActive = 0 WHERE customerNo = ( SELECT c.VersionNo FROM Activity b INNER JOIN VERSION c ON b.VersionNo = c.VersionNo WHERE (Months_between(sysdate, b.Activitye) > 30) ); It only works for one value though, if there is more then one returned it fails. What am I missing here? If someone could educate me on what is going on, I'd also appreciate it.

  • PHP & MySQL query value question.

    - by space
    How can I use the first query's id value $row['id'] again after I run a second query inside the while loop statement? To show you what I mean here is a sample code below of what I'm trying to do. I hope I explained it right. Here is the code. $mysqli = mysqli_connect("localhost", "root", "", "sitename"); $dbc = mysqli_query($mysqli,"SELECT users.* FROM users WHERE user_id = 4"); if (!$dbc) { // There was an error...do something about it here... print mysqli_error($mysqli); } while($row = mysqli_fetch_assoc($dbc)) { echo '<div>User: ' . $row['id'] . '</div>'; echo '<div>Link To User' . $row['id'] . '</div>'; $mysqli = mysqli_connect("localhost", "root", "", "sitename"); $dbc2 = mysqli_query($mysqli,"SELECT COUNT(cid) as num FROM comments WHERE comments_id = $row[id]"); if (!$dbc2) { // There was an error...do something about it here... print mysqli_error($mysqli); } else { while($row = mysqli_fetch_array($dbc2)){ $num = $row['num']; } } echo '<div>User ' . $row['id'] . ' Comments# ' . $num . '</div>'; }
