  • Remote MySQL connection fails (10060)

    When I am trying to connect to a MySQL database from a remote computer I get a prompt saying: Connection Failed: [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Can't Connect to MySQL server on 'XXX.XXX.XX.XX' (10060) I have created a user account in the MySQL Administrator and added a host to enable remote access, I have also made an exception for my Windows Firewall on port 3306 but the connection still fails. What is the problem? Thanks!

  • Mysql innoDB corruption after server crash

    Yesterday my server died because an outage in the data center. Today it's back up, but having some problems with mysql. First of all my mysql server was not able to start. For this reason I deleted the files ib_logfile0 and ib_logfile1 in /var/lib/mysql folder (I still have the old failing files). After this my server was able to startup again. But now I see a lot of issues in the mysql log file. Sep 1 09:43:55 * mysqld: 120901 9:43:55 InnoDB: Error: page 70944 log sequence number 8 1483471899 Sep 1 09:43:55 * mysqld: InnoDB: is in the future! Current system log sequence number 5 612394935. Sep 1 09:43:55 * mysqld: InnoDB: Your database may be corrupt or you may have copied the InnoDB Sep 1 09:43:55 * mysqld: InnoDB: tablespace but not the InnoDB log files. See Sep 1 09:43:55 * mysqld: InnoDB: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/forcing-recovery.html When I check the docs on mysql.com, I found that I need to recover my database with backups. I have a backup but not sure what's the good way on importing it. Or is there a way to recover without having to re-import the database again? So if I'm correct I need to put innodb_force_recovery to 4 in mysql and delete all current data and re-import? Is there a way to do this without having downtime? I also have one slave running. This slave has the current status now: Last_Error: Relay log read failure: Could not parse relay log event entry. The possible reasons are: the master's binary log is corrupted (you can check this by running 'mysqlbinlog' on the binary log), the slave's relay log is corrupted (you can check this by running 'mysqlbinlog' on the relay log), a network problem, or a bug in the master's or slave's MySQL code. If you want to check the master's binary log or slave's relay log, you will be able to know their names by issuing 'SHOW SLAVE STATUS' on this slave. How can I totally reset the slave after the new import on the master has happend? Hopefully we can find a solution without not to much downtime. Thanks!

    I've just rebooted my Ubuntu server and MySQL just won't start for some reason! I'm using: /etc/init.d/mysql start I just get this: * Starting MySQL database server mysqld [fail] Why might this be happening? Apache is running and my site works OK apart from the database connection. MySQL server is installed normally via synaptic. (Let me know any more information you need me to provide.)

    I have MySQL installed on Ubuntu 11.10. I has been working fine for months but yesterday I started getting the following message ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) and cannot get rid of it. I tried /etc/init.d/mysqld start and got bash: /etc/init.d/mysqld: No such file or directory The /etc/init.d/ directory contains mysql but not mysqld. I tried sudo service mysql restart It just hung for about half an hour and then I ctrl-C-ed it. I then tried sudo service mysql start I got mysql start/running But when I tried mysql I got ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) I tried ps aux|grep mysql and got peter 17754 0.0 0.0 4196 768 pts/1 S+ 09:38 0:00 grep --color=auto mysql I ideas about fixing this problem would be most appreciated.

    I'm trying to connect to a remote MySQL server (with TCP access limited to a specific IP) using port forwarding via SSH, but still haven't figured out how to do it. Here's what I intend to do: Local[A] ---> Proxy[B] ---> Remote MySQL[C] [A] Local machine with Windows [B] CentOS machine with IP 123.123.123.1 (with it's own MySQL running, btw) [C] Remote MySQL server with IP 123.123.123.1 authorized on port 3306 How to achieve this?   • How do I completely uninstall MySQL?

    I have installed and uninstalled MySQL Server for about 100 times. Each time I reinstall the thing, it shows the same configurations, which I think cause problems. I would like to get rid of all traces of MySQL and install it as if it was the first installation. I'v already deleted the MySQL folder, but I still having the same problem. How can I start over and reinstall MySQL? EDIT: My OS is Windows 7.

  • I can't connect to mysql on a remote server

    I'm trying to connect from an Ubuntu server to a RHEL6 server using mysql. I've tried telneting into the server as well as trying to connect with mysql. I've tried commenting out the bind-address but didn't have any success with that either. I don't get an error code or anything with telnet. It just fails after a minute or so. With mysql, I get this error code ERROR 2003 (HY000): Can't connect to MySQL server on 'SERVER_IP' (111). "SERVER_IP" is of course a placeholder where actual error gives that actual IP. I've included my my.cnf as well as well as my iptables from the destination server.   • MySQL server installation problems (windows)

    Hi guys, I'm trying to install some CMS software (Wiccle). I was using XAMPP's MySQL but was getting a lot of errors (the same configuration works on another machine) so thought I'd install MySQL Community Edition to see if the proplem was related to the MySQL server. When I install and run the MySQL Community Edition service, however, it only works with my XAMPP password, and contains the same tables as the XAMPP install. Is there a common local database file where the database and login info is stored? Any help appreciated

There's no firewall blocking on the pc I am trying to connect from. I used the command- mysql -h Some.Host.IP -u SomeUser -p SomePassword I am getting- ERROR 2003 (HY000): Can't connect to MySQL server on 'Some.Host.IP' (10060) I can connect through php!! What's the problem? How do I solve it?

  • What is a proper MySql replication configuration for frequent db updates and rare selects?

    We currently have 1 master db on its own server and slave db on app server. App executes very frequent but light updates (like increasing counters), and occasional (once in a few minutes) heavy selects (which is the most important part of the app). When app was connected only to master db there were no performance issues. With slave db introduction CPU load avg on app server increased to about 6-10 during that heavy select period (from 3-4 as before). When server doesn't run those frequent updates it seems like performance for selects stays within the limits. So I have a feeling that those updates is what is causing the performance drop (also these frequent updates are not critical so if slave db doesn't have them in sync with master for some time it would be ok). What would be a good db replication setup for such kind of app? What are the replication parameters we could tweak? Thanks.

  • Cannot create Windows Service for MySQL (Vista)

    I uninstalled MySQL 5.1 from Vista as I lost the username/password, however I forgot to stop the MySQL service before doing so. Now whenever I try to reinstall it I get to the final configuration screen which then fails with the message "Cannot create Windows Service for MySQL Error:0". I've uninstalled MySQL and removed all related files/folders/registry entries but still no joy... Does anyone know a way to resolve this as I can't seem to find a fix online anywhere!

La Ricerca ha coinvolto 108 Direttori HR delle più importanti aziende operanti in Italia con l'obiettivo di comprendere l'evoluzione dei modelli organizzativi e promuovere l'innovazione dei processi di gestione e sviluppo delle Risorse Umane attraverso l'utilizzo di nuove tecnologie ICT. La presentazione dei risultati della Ricerca è stata seguita da una Tavola Rotonda a cui hanno partecipato i referenti di alcune delle principali aziende che offrono servizi e soluzioni in ambito HR e dalla consegna dei Premi “HR Innovation Award”, un’importante occasione di confronto su casi di eccellenza nell’innovazione dei processi HR . L’Azienda per i Servizi Sanitari di Trento (APSS) ha ricevuto il premio HR Innovation Award nella categoria “Valutazione delle prestazioni e gestione delle carriere”. Riconoscimento conseguito grazie al progetto di miglioramento della gestione del personale portato avanti facendo leva su Oracle PeopleSoft HCM (Human Capital Management) , la soluzione applicativa integrata di Oracle a supporto della direzione risorse umane. Il progetto nasce da una chiara esigenza dell'azienda sanitaria ad utilizzare un sistema applicativo che consentisse di migliorare i processi di gestione delle risorse umane fornendo una visione univoca delle informazioni relative a ciascun dipendente, contrariamente a quanto accadeva in passato. La scelta è caduta su Oracle Peoplesoft HCM per varie motivazioni. Prima di tutto perchè si tratta di una piattaforma unica e integrata che permette una gestione del personale snella.     I guess these things always take longer than expected and, while the dust is still not completely settled in all the ex-Sun geographies, it is high time we started looking at some of the great new assets in the Oracle VM portfolio. So let's start with one of the most exciting: Oracle VM VirtualBox. VirtualBox is cross-platform virtualization software, oftentimes called a hypervisor, and it runs on Windows, Linux, Solaris and the Mac. Which means that you download it, you install it on your existing platform, and start creating and running virtual machines alongside your existing applications. For example, on my Mac I can run Oracle Enterprise Linux and Windows 7 alongside my Mac apps like this...(Click to zoom)VirtualBox use has grown phenomenally to the point that at Sun it was the 3rd most popular download behind Java and MySQL. Its success can be attributed to the fact that it doesn't need dedicated hardware, it can be installed on either client or server classes of computers, is very easy to use and is free for personal use. And, as you might expect, VirtualBox has it's own vibrant community too, over at www.virtualbox.org There are hundreds of tutorials out there about how to use VirtualBox to create vm's and install different operating systems ranging from Windows 7 to ChromeOS, and if you don't want to install an operating system yourself, you can download pre-built virtual appliances from community sites such as VirtualBox Images or commercial companies selling subscriptions to whole application stacks, such as JumpBox . In no time you'll be creating and sharing your own vm's using the VirtualBox OVF export and import function. VirtualBox is deceptively powerful.
