• IE: Undocumented "cache" attribute defined for input elements?

  Hi everybody. I've stumpled upon a strange behavior in IE(6/7/8) that drives me nuts. Given the following markup: <input type="text" value="foo" class="bar" cache="yes" send="no" /> Please note that the cache attribute is set to yes. However IE somehow manages to change the attributes value to cache="cache" when rendering the DOM. So, I wonder, is there an undocumented feature that I'm not aware of? I've googled about an hour now but couldn't find any info on this (not even on MSDN). NOTE I'm aware that adding custom attributes is non-standard compliant and that boolean attributes should be noted as attribute="attribute. Nevertheless I have to cope with these as they were introduced long before I joined the team. These custom attributes are used in conjunction with javascript to provide a more user friendly approach to form handling (and it works out quite well with Firefox/Safari/Opera/Chrome). I know that I could simply convert these custom attributes to x-data attributes that will be introduced with HTML5 but that would take me several hours of extra work - sigh. • Is an "infinite" iterator bad design?

  Is it generally considered bad practice to provide Iterator implementations that are "infinite"; i.e. where calls to hasNext() always(*) return true? Typically I'd say "yes" because the calling code could behave erratically, but in the below implementation hasNext() will return true unless the caller removes all elements from the List that the iterator was initialised with; i.e. there is a termination condition. Do you think this is a legitimate use of Iterator? • X++ Coming Out Of QueryRun In Fetch Method

  I can't seem to find the resolution for this. I have modified the Fetch method in a report, so that if the queryRun is changed, and the new ID is fetched, then the while loop starts over and a new page appears and 2 elements are executed. This part works fine, the next part does not, in each ID there are several Records which I am using Element.Execute(); and element.Send(); to process. What happens is, the first ID is selected, the element (body) of the reports is executed and the element is sent as expected, however the while loop does not go onto the next ID? • JLabel not greyed out when disabled, when HTML text displayed

  How do I get a JLabel displaying a HTML string to appear greyed out (which is the behaviour of JLabels that don't display HTML text)? Is there another way than actually changing the colour myself by modifying the foreground property? From what I gather, it seems that Java doesn't support automatic greying out of JLabels when they use HTML text. Suraj's solution has come closest to the fix considering the limitations. I have however, tried a different out-of-the box approach, where I have put the HTML text JLabels inside of an inner JPanel and did this: mInnerPanel.setEnabled(shouldShow); //shouldShow is a boolean value Which hasn't worked. Any suggestions for this way? EDIT: Added implemented solution.

  I think i have this document class concept entirly wrong now, i was wondering if someone mind explaining it.. I assumed that the above class would be instantiated within the first frame on scene one of a movie. I also assumed that when changing scenes the state of the class would remain constant so any event listeners would still be running.. Scene 1: I have a movieclip named ui_mc, that has a button in for muting sound. Scene 2: I have the same movie clip with the same button. Now the eventListener picks it up in the first scene, however it does not in the second. I am wondering for every scene do the event listeners need to be resetup? If that is the case if their an event listener to listen for the change in scene, so i can set them back up again lol.. I'll use this annotation to validate the field because it depends on the value of the other but the way I define it the compiler says "The value for annotation attribute" of my field "must be a constant expression". The question is I want to know if there is a better/standard/faster way to check if current "time" is between two time values given in hh:mm:ss format. For example, my big business logic should not run between 18:00:00 and 18:30:00.   Hello, I get this exception on my Windows 7 64bit in application running in VS 2008 express. I am using Connector/Net 6.2.2.0: Message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Source: MySql.Data in MySql.Data.MySqlClient.NativeDriver.GetResult(Int32& affectedRow, Int32& insertedId) Stack trace: in MySql.Data.MySqlClient.Driver.GetResult(Int32 statementId, Int32& affectedRows, Int32& insertedId) in MySql.Data.MySqlClient.Driver.NextResult(Int32 statementId) in MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlDataReader.NextResult() in MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlDataReader.Close() in MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlConnection.Close() in MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlConnection.Dispose(Boolean disposing) in System.ComponentModel.Component.Finalize() No inner exception. This exception is unhalted and the debugger dont point on any code line. It just say "Object reference not set to an instance of an object. MySql.Data" This error is really hard to repeat. • How to Deserialize Missing Fields To Nulls

  I am working on a .NET project where several versions of the same type of object have been created over the life of the project - most new versions add a field or two. However, now I am looking to mitigate problems for users with an old version. My goal is that when a user tries to open an old version of the serialized object with the new program, the program will automatically assign default values to the fields that are missing from the depreciated version of the file. For example, say I had a class with two boolean fields - RepeatSound and RepeatForever. The first version of the program doesn't know how to repeat forever, so it only saved RepeatSound: <anyType xsi:type="Sound"> <RepeatSound>true</RepeatSound> </anyType> but the new files look like this: <anyType xsi:type="Sound"> <RepeatSound>true</RepeatSound> <RepeatForever>true</RepeatForever> </anyType> My goal is that when I deserialize the first file in the new program that it will create the Sound object but simply default the value of RepeatForever to false. Right now trying to deserialize the first object would throw an exception. Thank you in advance for any responses

  I have an Entity Framework 4.0 Entity Object called Revision w/ Nullable DateEffectiveFrom and DateEffectiveTo dates. I was wondering if there was a short-hand way of querying an object's RevisionHistory based on a particular QueryDate date instead of having to use the following query structure: var results = EntityObject.Revisions.Where(x => (x.DateEffectiveFrom == null && x.DateEffectiveTo == null) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom == null && x.DateEffectiveTo >= QueryDate) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom <= QueryDate && x.DateEffectiveTo == null) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom <= QueryDate && x.DateEffectiveTo >= QueryDate)); I've tried creating the following boolean function in the Revision class: partial class Revision { public bool IsEffectiveOn(DateTime date) { return (x.DateEffectiveFrom == null && x.DateEffectiveTo == null) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom == null && x.DateEffectiveTo >= date) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom <= date && x.DateEffectiveTo == null) || (x.DateEffectiveFrom <= date && x.DateEffectiveTo >= date)); } ... } And then updating the query to: var results = EntityObject.Revisions.Where(x => x.IsEffectiveOn(QueryDate)); but this obviously doesn't translate to SQL. • Problem with .Contains

  Hello there, I have a little problem which i can't solve. I want to use an SQL-In-Statement in Linq. I've read in this Forum and in other Forums that I have to use the .Contains (with reverse-thinking-notation :-)). As input i have a List of Guids. I first copied them into an array and then did something like that : datatoget = (from p in objectContext.MyDataSet where ArrayToSearch.Contains(p.Subtable.Id.ToString()) select p).ToList(); datatoget is the result in which all records matching the Subtable.Id (which is a Guid) should be stored. Subtable is a Detail-Table from MyData, and the Id is a Guid-Type. I've tried several things (Convert Guid to String, and then using .Contains, etc), but I always get an Exception which says : 'Linq to Entities' doesn't recognize the Method 'Boolean Contains(System.Guid) and is not able to Translate this method into a memory expression. (Something like that, because I'm using the German Version of VS2008) I am using L2E with .NET 3.5 and am programming in C# with VS 2008. I've read several Examples, but it doesn't work. Is it perhaps because of using Guid's instead of strings ? I've also tried to write my own compare-function, but I don't know how to integrate it so that .NET calls my function for comparing.

  We have created an MVC web application in asp.net 3.5, it runs absolutely fine locally but when we deploy it on godaddy hosting server (shared hosting), it shows an error which is related to trust level problem. We contacted godaddy support and they say, that we only support medium trust level application. So how to convert my application in medium trust level. Do I need to make changes to web.config file.   Pressing the back button causes onPause to be called, and the app stays paused until it is re-launched by clicking on the icon, at which point, onDestroy gets called, and the main activity continues to shut down. Simple class to demonstrate. Note, as far as I can tell, this only happens on the Nexus One. • Abort SAX parsing mid-document?

  I'm parsing a very simple XML schema with a SAX parser in Android. An example file would be <Lists> <List name="foo"> <Note title="note 1" .../> <Note title="note 2" .../> </List> <List name="bar"> <Note title="note 3" .../> </List> </Lists> The ... represents more note data as attributes that aren't important to question. I use a SAX parser to parse the document and only implement the startElement and 'endElement' methods of the HandlerBase to handle Note and List nodes. However, In some cases the files can be very large and take some time to process. I'd like to be able to abort the parsing process at any time (i.e. user presses cancel button). The best way I've come up with is to throw an exception from my startElement method when certain conditions are met (i.e. boolean stopParsing is true). Is there a better way to do this? I've always used DOM style parsers, so I don't fully understand the SAX parser. One final note, I'm running this on Android, so I will have the Parser running on a worker thread to keep the UI responsive. If you know how I can kill the thread safely while the parser is running that would answer my question as well.

• Mimic.js handle fault response

  i use mimic.js regarding a project that i m developing.. the issue that i face, is if there is a fault response from the webservice, mimic, doesn't handle it, and the browser remains "awaiting" for a response, that has actually been back, but hasn't been handled by mimic.. to be more specific, one typical fault response is the following.. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <methodResponse> <fault> <value> <struct> <member> <name>faultCode</name><value><int>104</int></value> </member> <member> <name>faultString</name><value><string>Invalid Input Parameters</string></value> </member> </struct></value></fault></methodResponse> and chrome console get me the error mimic.js:11 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'childNodes' of null any suggestions on how to handle "fault" responses? mimic.js hasn't been altered at all.. also tried to bypass the fact that mimic can't handle the fault, by trying to use the isFault flag, in the if statement, with no success either.. isFault is supposed to get a boolean value, i guess true/false?

I am posting an xml query from Fiddler and i receive the result without any problem. PS: Some of you will say that i do not send application/xml as ContentType but multipart, which of course is false because the objects are annotated with the required @XmlRootElement etc, otherways neither the POST from Fiddler would work.
