  • Encoding Special Characters For Outlook HTML Email

    I have an asp.net / C# page which takes a comment, and then emails that comment. Sometimes when the user enters "&" in the comment, the comment is being truncated. So for example if the comment is "test & test" the email only sends out "test ". I have tried HttpUtility.HtmlEncode - but it looks like the issue is on the outlook side and not on the C# side.

    In my Android application I am getting a very strange crash, when I press a button (Image) on my UI the entire application freezes and after a couple of seconds I getthe dreaded force close dialog appearing.     Hey everyone, What I am trying to do is pass the raw content of an outgoing email to spamassassin in order to calculate a spam score. I am stuck in how I might get the raw content of the email. My C# code currently just constructs the MailMessage and passes it the SmtpClient's Send() method. Before sending, is there a way to get a raw version of the mail message (as the protocol might see it) so that I can pass this to the spamassassin tool for spam assessment?   • Recommendations for a .NET component to access an email inbox

    I've been asked to write a Windows service in C# to periodically monitor an email inbox and insert the details of any messages received into a database table. My instinct is to do this via POP3 and sure enough, Googling for ".NET POP3 component" produces countless (ok, 146,000) results. Has anybody done anything similar before and can you recommend a decent component that won't break the bank (a few hundred dollars maximum)? Would there be any benefits to using IMAP rather than POP3?

    We're in the process of porting our .NET Rally code from SOAP to the REST .NET API. One thing I'm looking to replicate is the ability to upload attachments. I'm following a very similar procedure as to the one outlined in this posting: Rally SOAP API - How do I add an attachment to a Hierarchical Requirement Whereby the image is read into a System.Drawing.Image. We use the ImageToBase64 function to convert the image to a byte array which then gets assigned to the AttachmentContent, which is created first. Then, the Attachment gets created, and wired up to both AttachmentContent, and the HierarchicalRequirement. All of the creation events work great. A new attachment called "Image.png" gets created on the Story. However, when I download the resulting attachment from Rally, Image.png has zero bytes! I've tried this with different images, JPEG's, PNG's, etc. all with the same results. An excerpt of the code showing the process is included below. Is there something obvious that I'm missing?
