    In my application I want to use html file for attaching to the email client. So I want to access and update this html file at run time after that i added as an attachment. Is it possible?If yes, Please can anyone help me. Here i tried like first i created one html file in the assets folder after that i added it as an attachment But now i want to update it as at run time.   • Communicating between C# application and Android app via bluetooth

    The android application acts as a server in this case. I have a main activity which creates a Thread to handle serverSocket and a different thread to handle the socket connection. I am using a uuid common to C# and android. I am using 32feet bluetooth library for C#.   • Android: restful API service

    Hey, I'm looking to make a service which I can use to make calls to a web based rest api. I've spent a couple of days looking through stackoverflow.com, reading books and looking at articles whilst playing about with some code and I can't get anything which I'm happy with. Basically I want to start a service on app init then I want to be able to ask that service to request a url and return the results. In the meantime I want to be able to display a progress window or something similar. I've created a service currently which uses IDL, I've read somewhere that you only really need this for cross app communication, so think these needs stripping out but unsure how to do callbacks without it. Also when I hit the post(Config.getURL("login"), values) the app seems to pause for a while (seems weird - thought the idea behind a service was that it runs on a different thread!) Currently I have a service with post and get http methods inside, a couple of AIDL files (for two way communication), a ServiceManager which deals with starting, stopping, binding etc to the service and I'm dynamically creating a Handler with specific code for the callbacks as needed. I don't want anyone to give me a complete code base to work on, but some pointers would be greatly appreciated; even if it's to say I'm doing it completely wrong. I'm pretty new to Android and Java dev so if there are any blindingly obvious mistakes here - please don't think I'm a rubbish developer, I'm just wet behind the ears and would appreciate being told exactly where I'm going wrong.   • Error in Outlook: "A program has attachment...open" when replying to email

    Whenever I reply to an email in Outlook 2007, dialogue box pops up saying: "A program has the attachment <email subject> open. Changes to this file will be lost unless you save your changes to another file by clicking the Microsoft Office Button in the other program, and then clicking Save As." This happens whether the original email has an attachment or not. It's just an annoyance really - Outlook works fine in every other respect. It only started happening about a week ago. As far as I can remember I haven't installed any new software that is likely to have affected it.

    we have a user on Exchange 2010 server who doesn't get email from one specific domain if her address is in cc: field. If she is a main recipient (To:) it goes through. We checked Exchange logs and it looks like our server doesn't even try to deliver it, it simply ignores her email address completely. We did several tests: send email with her email address in cc: field from another domain, succeeded send email with her email address in to: field from another domain, succeeded send email with her email address in to: field from affected domain, succeeded turn off all email rules check via webmail We also turned off firewall, antispam and antivirus for SMTP rule. Does anyone have any idea what could be an issue here? Thanks

    When I try to e-mail my 10-minute videos to my gmail account, but when I try to attach the videos the phone gives me this error: 'File is too large and cannot be attached'. Can't reproduce because my Android is hooked up to USB, but I'll edit-- S3x-- What's any convenient way to upload/send a video without having to get out the USB? Can I do it without using any 3rd-party apps, or at least using safe 3rd-party apps? Youtube is an option, I believe, but I want to have a hard copy on my PC for editing. Attachments are more convenient.

    I'm using Mozilla Thunderbird 9.0.1 with Lightning 1.1.1. Is there an easier way to import an ICS file attached to an email than saving it to disk, then in Calendar going to File -- Open? If I select "Open with Thunderbird" from the save dialog, it just opens a new mail message and attaches the file to it. (I did see this older question, but it refers to much older versions of Thunderbird and Lightning) Update: I've updated to 10.0 and 1.2, respectively and it still doesn't work right.     When I add an attachment to any document in Word 2010 the font used for the title has changed. I am not talking about adding a caption but the title that is shown automatically as part of the attachment icon: Anything which I attached before today is still showing with the correct font but any new items use a different font. This affects all types of attachments (for example, .msg, .xml, .css). I don't know what I have done to alter the behaviour. How can I change the font back to the default please?

    I need to scale my TabWidget background images so they maintain aspect ratio. I am using a TabHost with a TabWidget. I am then using setBackgroundDrawable to set the images. I found a close answer here - Background in tab widget ignore scaling. However, I'm not sure just where to add the new Drawable code. (Working with the HelloTabWidget example, none of my modules use RelativeLayout, and I don't see any layout for "tabcontent".) I also found this thread - Android: Scale a Drawable or background image?. According to it, it sounds like I would have to pre-scale my images, which defeats the whole purpose of making them scaleable. I also found another thread where someone subclassed the Drawable class so it would either not scale, or it would scale properly. I can't find it now, but that seems like a LOT to go through when you should just be able to do something simple like mTab.setScaleType(centerInside).   • Bulk email notifications API for social networking site

    I'm looking to build a social networking site that notifies followers of a particular user when new content has been posted by that user. Since the hope is that the site will eventually have thousands of users with thousands of followers, I'd prefer to use an outside product/service to send the emails rather than building the functionality into the application and dealing with scalability issues. I've looked at MailChimp and a few others out there. Since my use case isn't really email campaigns, these providers don't seem like the right solution. In fact, MailChimp support confirmed for me that my scenario doesn't fit for them. I'm sure others have run into this same requirement. What are others out there using? I'm using .NET so would like to target something that has a .NET wrapper if possible. Any advice would be most appreciated!

    I have just started my career as an android programmer, and am currently relying heavily on the sample code and api examples. I have been working with this api example, to produce an expandable list of items (note this example does not use the ExpadableListView). In playing with the example, I tried to add another widget that would become visible and be gone at the same time as the text (mDialogue in the sample code). This works well with another TextView, but as soon as I tried to add a button widget, it stopped working. The list would expand on first click, showing my hidden TextView and Button, but it will not disappear on further clicks. The button is however, clickable, and I was able to set up an onClick listener to change the button text back and forth. I'm starting to wonder, is it just not possible to have a clickable item inside a clickable list item? Or is there some kind of work around? Would it solve my problem if I used ExpandableListView?
