• Calling https process from ASP Net

  I have an ASP NET web server application that calls another process running on the same box that creates a pdf file and returns it. The second process requires a secure connection via SSL. The second process has issued my ASP NET application with a digital certificate but I still cannot authenticate, getting a 403 error. The code is a little hard to show but here's a simplified method ... • xerces serialization in Java 6

  In Java 6, the entire xerces XML parser/serializer implementation is now in the Java runtime (rt.jar). The packages have been moved under the com.sun.* namespace, which places them off-limits for explicit reference within client code. This is not a problem when using the parser, which is instantiated via javax API-defined factories. However, our code also uses xerces serialization (org.apache.xml.serialize.* ). AFAICT, there are no javax.xml API-defined factories for creating instances of Serializer and OutputFormat. This seems to imply that the only way to get one is to explicitly call the com.sun.org.apache.xml.serialize.* APIs. I've found the serialization classes in javax.xml.stream, but they don't seem to provide any output-formatting control like the xerces OutputFormat class. Question: Is there a way to access the xerces serialization functionality (which is in rt.jar) via a javax standard API, without including xerces.jar and also without explicitly instantiating com.sun.* classes? If not, is there an javax API-compliant way to achieve the same effect?

  I have had been on a roller coaster trying to get ImageMagick to work on my Ubuntu slice. I Whenever I try to upload an image I get the following error: /tmp/stream.1170.0 is not recognized by the 'identify' command. If I type 'which identify' I get: /usr/local/bin/identify If I run '/usr/local/bin/identify' or just 'identify', I get the following error: /usr/local/bin/identify: error while loading shared libraries: libMagickCore.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory If I run '/usr/bin/identify', ImageMagick is run just fine. How can I set my path to where when Paperclip runs the identify command, it points to /usr/bin/identify? Thanks. p.s. I have tried adding this to paperclip.rb: Paperclip.options[:command_path] = '/usr/bin' and Paperclip.options[:command_path] = '/usr/local/bin'

• C++ Microsoft SAPI: How to set Windows text-to-speech output to a memory buffer?

  Hi all, I have been trying to figure out how to "speak" a text into a memory buffer using Windows SAPI 5.1 but so far no success, even though it seems it should be quite simple. There is an example of streaming the synthesized speech into a .wav file, but no examples of how to stream it to a memory buffer. In the end I need to have the synthesized speech in a char* array in 16 kHz 16-bit little-endian PCM format. Currently I create a temp .wav file, redirect speech output there, then read it, but it seems to be a rather stupid solution. Anyone knows how to do that? Thanks!

I've been looking at RapidXML, the Kranf xmlParser, and pugiXML. The first two of those might permit requirement #1 by way of a hook. The third, pugiXML, supports the #2 requirement. But none of those three fulfill both requirements. What is the smallest (free) library that can handle both requirements?

But my goal is when user click on the button (which generate Excel .xls), I want download popup to show up asking user whether to save or open the .xls file just like any other web services doing for downloading any type of files. I can't really figure what exactly that means without sample code..

  I am trying to write to a folder that is located on my C:\ drive. I keep getting the error of : Could not find a part of the path .. etc My filepath looks basically like this : C:\WebRoot\ManagedFiles\folder\thumbs\5c27a312-343e-4bdf-b294-0d599330c42d\Image\lighthouse.jpg And I am writing to it like so : using (MemoryStream memoryStream = new MemoryStream()) { thumbImage.Save(memoryStream, ImageFormat.Jpeg); using (FileStream diskCacheStream = new FileStream(cachePath, FileMode.CreateNew)) { memoryStream.WriteTo(diskCacheStream); } memoryStream.WriteTo(context.Response.OutputStream); } Don't worry too much about the memory stream. It is just outputting it (After I save it). Since I am creating a file, I am a bit perplexed as to why it cannot find the file (Shouldn't it just write to where I tell it to, regardless?). The strange thing is, It has no issue when I'm testing it above using File.Exists. Obviously that is returning false, But it means that atleast my Filepath is semi legit. Any help is much appreciated.

Is there a better way to do timeouts with fopen? If I use ini_set('default_socket_timeout',2); above that code it times out properly but $info then becomes null so ideally I'd like to use the stream functions. thanks

  I am trying to create a flash client that can stream audio to an online radio server. Theoretically a user could enter the server info / login, and then connect and start sending data to the server which could then be broadcasted and listened to by other clients. I don't think this would be very hard, but am unsure about what data formats to use and what is the best server for the job.   Subversion sets a binary file's svn:mime-type property to application/octet-stream by default. I need to change this default to some other mime-type. When I import for the first time this code, I would like Subversion to set mime-type to the one I choose. The reason is that my code base contains code in binary files (proprietary format), and I have the applications necessary to emulate diff and diff3 for these. But Subversion does not let me due to their default mime-type. Please note: There is no default extension (*.jar, *.py, etc) for these code files. Some files don't even have an extension. So configuring mime-type by file extension is not possible.

Any server setting that might be preventing me from making a connection to GMail (I'm using a shared service)? Is the address even right? Has anyone ever managed to do something like this? I've found tons of examples on how to send email via GMail, but very little of retrieving. Any help is much appreciated.

  With the Debugging Tools for Windows you can run SSIndex.cmd against your symbol files and it will embed the command to retrieve each source code file from the TF server. We have a bunch of indexed files and recently our IT migrated our TFS 2008 installation to TFS 2010 and in the process changed the server name. Question is, how can I update all these symbol files to point to the new server? I thought SSindex used an alternate data stream named 'srcsrv' but SysInternals' streams.exe shows nothing on these symbol files even though srctool.exe shows the data.
