    - by ikurtz
Greetings, I am trying to play some audio files without holding up the GUI. Below is a sample of the code: if (audio) { if (ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem(new WaitCallback(CoordinateProc), fireResult)) { } else { MessageBox.Show("false"); } } if (audio) { if (ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem(new WaitCallback(FireProc), fireResult)) { } else { MessageBox.Show("false"); } } if (audio) { if (ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem(new WaitCallback(HitProc), fireResult)) { } else { MessageBox.Show("false"); } } The situation is the samples are not being played in order. some play before the other and I need to fix this so the samples are played one after another in order. How do I implement this please? Thank you.

  • Mysql adapter for Zend_Translate

    - by Peter
Hi everybody, I'm currently in the planning phase of a rather large project that I'll develop in the Zend Framework. One of the problems I'm facing is that the customers will want to translate not only the content but also the interface. I'm currently using gettext and poedit to manage my language files but this is not an option for the customer as they, for one, want have FTP access to the site. Hence, I'm thinking of a mysql back end with an interface in the front end for the customer to manage his own translations of the interface. There is however still no mysql adapater for Zend_Translate. So, does anybody now of an adapter script for Zend_Translate so it can work with a mysql table? Or any arguments against using mysql and possible other solutions for this problem?

  • For a .Net project, what file extensions should I exclude from source control?

    - by arame3333
Everytime I start a project I have to think carefully about which files to exclude from source control. Has someone made a list of the criteria so I can look it up from the beginning? I work on my own so I have not got round to it. I appreciate that in the case of a DLL, you would want to include some and exclude others, so it is not just dependent on the file extension. My projects are ASP.Net, although a general discussion of other templates would also be useful.

  • make error in re-building ns2

    - by user3702405
I have implemented a new routing protocol named AODV2 in ns-2.35. I am using ns-2.35 in fedora 13. All .cc files have a .o file with them that means recompilation is done. But I am getting an error in response to the 'make' command. Error is shown below: trace/cmu-trace.o: In function hdr_aodv2::access(Packet const*)': cmu-trace.cc:(.text._ZN9hdr_aodv26accessEPK6Packet[hdr_aodv2::access(Packet const*)]+0x7): undefined reference tohdr_aodv2::offset_2' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: * [ns] Error 1 I don't know how to remove this error, Can anyone help me please? • Where does C# and the .NET Framework fail?

    - by Nate Bross
In my non-programming life, I always attempt to use the approprite tool for the job, and I feel that I do the same in my programming life, but I find that I am choosing C# and .NET for almost everything. I'm finding it hard to come up with (realistic business) needs that cannot be met by .NET and C#. Obviously embedded systems might require something less bloated than the .NET Micro Framework, but I'm really looking for line of business type situations where .NET is not the best tool. I'm primarly a C# and .NET guy since its what I'm the most comfertable in, but I know a fair amount of C++, php, VB, powershell, batch files, and Java, as well as being versed in the web technologes (javascript, html/css). But I'm open minded about it my skill set and I'm looking for cases where C# and .NET are not the right tool for the job. The bottom line here, is that I feel that I'm choosing C# and .NET simply because I am very comfertable with it, so I'm looking for cases where you have chosen something other than .NET, even though you are primarly a .NET developer.

  • What are good Python and/or Django deployment solutions?

    - by e-satis
For now I use some mix between virtual_env, pip and Fabric. This allows to: install required libs; generate dynamic content; isolate installation; push everything through ssh. It works well, I just want to know if there are other tools around. The only problem I could think of is that it's a lot of to set up every time. It doesn't solve database / media files migration issues either, but maybe I should just open another question for this specific subject. Eventually, I don't know how to automatize the server setup. I'd love to have a tool to let me configure Apache/Lighttp/Cherokee and MySQL automatically. Related : How django projects can be deployed with minimal installation works?

  • Eclipse Problems View doesn't show Errors

    - by Jack
[Note: There is another thread about this problem but it did not answer the question.] For one specific project in Eclipse, the problems view does not show errors. It shows warnings but it does not show errors. The other projects do show errors (and everything else). For that problematic project, I can see the red squiggly error line in the files. However, the directory structure does not show an error icon and the error is not populated in the Problems View. Any ideas?

  • C# String Resource Values as Enum String Part values?

    - by JL
Using VS2010 and .net V4.0 I would like to achieve the following: I already have 2 resource files in my project for 2 languages - English and Czech. I must say Resource Management in .net is excellent, I am suprised even to get code completion when implementing a String for example: string desc = Strings.ResourceManagerDesc This gets the string associated with the current culture of the thread. Now I am trying to create an Enum that can have the String portion of the Enum interpreted from the Strings resources. In the following way (This code DOES NOT WORK): public enum DownloadStatus { 1 = Strings.DownloadState_Complete, 2 = Strings.DownloadState_Failed, 3 = Strings.DownloadState_InProgress } This is a made up example, but you can see the point here. Since the above code won't work, is there a best practice way to achieve what I want?

  • C - struct problems - writing

    - by Catarrunas
    Hello, I'm making a program in C, and I'mm having some troubles with memory, I think. So my problem is: I have 2 functions that return a struct. When I run only one function at a time I have no problem whatsoever. But when I run one after the other I always get an error when writting to the second struct. Function struct item* ReadFileBIN(char *name) -- reads a binary file. struct tables* getMesasInfo(char* Filename) -- reads a text file. My code is this: #include "stdafx.h" #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <string.h> #include <time.h> int numberOfTables=0; int numberOfItems=0; //struct tables* mesas; //struct item* Menu; typedef struct item{ char nome[100]; int id; float preco; }; typedef struct tables{ int id; int capacity; bool inUse; }; struct tables* getMesasInfo(char* Filename){ struct tables* mesas; char *c; int counter,numberOflines=0,temp=0; char *filename=Filename; FILE * G; G = fopen(filename,"r"); if (G==NULL){ printf("Cannot open file.\n"); } else{ while (!feof(G)){ fscanf(G, "%s", &c); numberOflines++; } fclose(G); } /* Memory allocate for input array */ mesas = (struct tables *)malloc(numberOflines* sizeof(struct tables*)); counter=0; G=fopen(filename,"r"); while (!feof(G)){ mesas[counter].id=counter; fscanf(G, "%d", &mesas[counter].capacity); mesas[counter].inUse= false; counter++; } fclose(G); numberOfTables = counter; return mesas; } struct item* ReadFileBIN(char *name) { int total=0; int counter; FILE *ptr_myfile; struct item my_record; struct item* Menu; ptr_myfile=fopen(name,"r"); if (!ptr_myfile) { printf("Unable to open file!"); } while (!feof(ptr_myfile)){ fread(&my_record,sizeof(struct item),1,ptr_myfile); total=total+1; } numberOfItems=total-1; Menu = (struct item *)calloc(numberOfItems , sizeof(struct item)); fseek(ptr_myfile, sizeof(struct item), SEEK_END); rewind(ptr_myfile); for ( counter=1; counter < total ; counter++) { fread(&my_record,sizeof(struct item),1,ptr_myfile); Menu[counter] = my_record; printf("Nome: %s\n",Menu[counter].nome); printf("ID: %d\n",Menu[counter].id); printf("Preco: %f\n",Menu[counter].preco); } fclose(ptr_myfile); return Menu; } int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) { struct item* tt = ReadFileBIN("menu.dat"); struct tables* t = getMesasInfo("Capacity.txt"); getchar(); }** Thanks in advance.

  • memory of drawables, is it better to have resources inside APK, outside APK or is it the same for me

    - by Daniel Benedykt
Hi I have an application that draws a lot of graphics and change them. Since I have many graphics, I thought of having the images outside the APK, downloaded from the internet as needed, and saved on the files application folder. But I started to get outOfMemory exceptions. The question is: Does android handle memory different if I load a graphic from APK than if I load it from 'disk'? code using APK: topView.setBackgroundResource(R.drawable.bg); code if image is outside APK: Drawable d = Drawable.createFromPath(pathName); topView.setBackgroundDrawable(d); Thanks Daniel

  • How to set up source control in VS2010

    - by Jouke van der Maas
Hi, I want to set up source control for my project, but it seems like I need a server for this. I've never done this before, and I couldn't find anything helpfull yet. Is there any way to host a server locally so Visual studio can use it? Or do you know any online (free) servers I can use? By the way, if source control is not actually what i should use for keeping track of changes in my files, please suggest a better option. Thanks in advance.

  • C# naming convention for extension methods for interface

    - by Sarah Vessels
I typically name my C# interfaces as IThing. I'm creating an extension method class for IThing, but I don't know what to name it. On one hand, calling it ThingExtensions seems to imply it is an extension class to some Thing class instead of to the IThing interface. It also makes the extension class be sorted away from the interface it extends, when viewing files alphabetically. On the other hand, naming it IThingExtensions makes it look like it is an interface itself, instead of an extension class for an interface. What would you suggest?

  • Convert jpg Byte[] to Texture2D

    - by Damien Sawyer
I need to import jpeg images into a WP7/XNA app with associated metadata. The program which manages these images exports to an XML file with an encoded byte[] of the jpg files. I've written a custom importer/processor which successfully imports the reserialized objects into my XNA project. My question is, given the byte[] of the jpg, what is the best way to convert it back to Texture2D. // 'Standard' method for importing image Texture2D texture1 = Content.Load<Texture2D>("artwork"); // Uses the standard Content processor "Texture - XNA Framework" to import an image. // 'Custom' method var myCustomObject = Content.Load<CompiledBNBImage>("gamedata"); // Uses my custom content Processor to return POCO "CompiledBNBImage" byte[] myJPEGByteArray = myCustomObject.Image; // byte[] of jpeg Texture2D texture2 = ???? // What is the best way to convert myJPEGByteArray to a Texture2D? Thanks very much for your help. :-) DS

  • How can I handle maxRequestLength exceptions elegantly?

    - by JMP
In my ASP.NET MVC (v2 if it matters) app, I have a page that allows the user to upload a file. I've configured the maxRequestLength for my app to allow files up to 25MB. As a test, I send it a 500MB file which throws the exception: Maximum request length exceeded. (I only know this because ELMAH catches the error and logs it.) In my web.config, I've set customErrors mode="On" with a defaultRedirect, but the user isn't redirected at all, they don't even get a yellow-screen-of-death. In Chrome, for example, you'll see the error: Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error. Is it possible to provide a more elegant user experience for this situation?

  • Is it possible to modify ASP.NET to no longer require runat="server"?

    - by sean2078
I know why runat="server" is currently required (ASP.NET why runat="server"), but the consensus is that it should not be required if you incorporate a simple default into the design (I agree of course). Would it be possible to modify, extend, decompile and recreate, intercept or otherwise change the behavior of how ASP.NET parses ASPX and ASCX files so that runat="server" would no longer be required? For instance, I assume that a version of Mono could be branched to accomplish this goal. In case specific requirements are helpful, the following highlights one design: During parsing, when configured namespace tags are encountered (such as "asp"), default the element's runat property to "server" During parsing, when configured namespace tags are encountered (such as "asp"), if the element's runat property value is available, then that value should be used in place of the default New page-level setting introduced (can be set in the page directive or web.config) that specifies the default runat value for a specific namespace tag

  • Launching desired version of XCode from Finder

    - by Andy J Buchanan
My google-fu has failed me, and I guess this may be basic OS X/Xcode knowledge but.... When I double click .xcodeproj files, I'm getting the Beta I have installed launching instead of the stable release - which is the one I actually want. I have tried changing the launch program in the finder info window, but it always displays as "Xcode" and doesn't seem to accept that there are different versions - even though it offers them to me in the drop down list. Is there an xcode setting for this? Thanks.

  • Slow PDF upload for Confluence

    - by JPJedi
We run a site that we host that uses the Atlassian Confluence. The site works great and is being used now. But there is one thing. It seems like when pdf and gifs are uploaded the upload speed will be slower. But the smaller files will upload fine. Has anyone else having an issue with uploading pdf's into confluence? I am trying to use fiddler to track the speed but am not having luck with that. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

  • Avoiding dispose of underlying stream

    - by danbystrom
I'm attempting to mock some file operations. In the "real" object I have: StreamWriter createFile( string name ) { return new StreamWriter( Path.Combine( _outFolder, name ), false, Encoding.UTF8 ) ); } In the mock object I'd like to have: StreamWriter createFile( string name ) { var ms = new MemoryStream(); _files.Add( Path.Combine( _outFolder, name ), ms ); return new StreamWriter( ms, Encoding.UTF8 ) ); } where _files is a dictionary to store created files for later inspection. However, when the consumer closes the StreamWriter, it also disposes the MeamoryStream... :-( Any thoughts on how to pursue this?

  • What is the best way for communication between cluster nodes

    - by Tom
I have an application written in a combination of ASP/VB6/VBScript and ASP.NET/C# that consists of a website part, SOAP-like webservice part and a queue processing part processing incoming files in a hotfolder. We are used to running under load balancers (Microsoft or other make). Often we need to communicate between the different load balanced servers. Currently we do this through the SQL Server database that is common for all nodes, however, this comes with a performance penalty as each message requires a transaction and continual polling from the other nodes. What would be better ways to achieve this? Tom, Appelby

  • Testing file existence using NSURL

    - by Peter Hosey
Snow Leopard introduced many new methods to use NSURL objects to refer to files, not pathnames or Core Services' FSRefs. However, there's one task I can't find a URL-based method for: Testing whether a file exists. I'm looking for a URL-based version of -[NSFileManager fileExistsAtPath:]. Like that method, it should return YES if the URL describes anything, whether it's a regular file, a directory, or anything else. I could attempt to look up various resource values, but none of them are explicitly guaranteed to not exist if the file doesn't, and some of them (e.g., NSURLEffectiveIconKey) could be costly if it does. I could just use NSFileManager's fileExistsAtPath:, but if there's a more modern method, I'd prefer to use that. Is there a simple method or function in Cocoa, CF, or Core Services that's guaranteed/documented to tell me whether a given file (or file-reference) URL refers to a file-system object that exists?
