    Hello. I manage two corporate Twitter accounts and two personal Twitter accounts, and it would be really useful to know how many followers each account has at the end of each week. I'm using TweetStats.com to gather statistics at the moment, but the follower stats functionality isn't granular enough to determine the precise number of followers. Does anyone know of any useful and free tools that can provide the exact number of followers for a specific Twitter account on any given date? Thank you, Mike.

You can download them to your local machine or eBook reader and read them. This is a great start as many important subjects are now covered and converted into an eBook. I personally read through a few of the books and found they are very comprehensive and and detailed. The goal is not to cover complete technology in a single book but rather pick a single topic and discuss it in detail. Just like eBooks mentioned earlier my SQL Server Wait Stats was inspired from my article series on SQL Wait Stats. The latest book SQL Server Interview Question and Answers was derived from my article series on SQL Interview Q and A. Writing book is an absolutely different concept than writing blog posts.   • Modify game using external file

    In Flash, for example, I can place an xml file along with the binary, then if I modify some variable the game will change for everyone. How to achieve something like that in Android? I know that for every change I make to the game, the player would need to download a new update. But the main goal I'm looking for, is modifying a game stats without the need for recompile the entire APK. I'm working with Haxe+OpenFL.

  • Parent variable inheritance methods Unity3D/C#

    I'm creating a system where there is a base "Hero" class and each hero inherits from that with their own stats and abilities. What I'm wondering is, how could I call a variable from one of the child scripts in the parent script (something like maxMP = MP) or call a function in a parent class that is specified in each child class (in the parent update is alarms() in the child classes alarms() is specified to do something.) Is this possible at all? Or not? Thanks.

  • Google Analytics Filters not removing traffic from other domain

    We have a frustrating problem where someone copied our site code including our Google Analytics code. So we are getting stats logged from their site which is very frustrating. I have setup 4 Filters, each trying to disallow any traffic from this other website, but still their traffic is being shown, including on the Real Time section. Do Filters even work to exclude traffic? Here is how I have it setup: Neither of these seem to help at all.

  • How exactly is Google Webmaster Tools measuring "Site Performance"?

    I've been working for two months now on improving our response time (mainly server side) on a new forum (a brand new product on a technical point of view) we've launched in Germany a few month ago and I'm a lot surprised by the results I get. I monitor our response time using Apache logs and our own implementation of Boomerang beacon. Using my stats, I can see that our new product responds in about 680 ms where our old product was responding in about 1050 ms. On the other side, Google Webmaster Tool tells us that our pages have an average reponse time of about 1500 ms today where it was 700 three months ago with our old product. I've figured that GWT was taking client side metrics into account so I've added some measures on our Boomerang beacon and everything looks just fine. I've also ran some random pages on ySlow and Google's Page Speed and everything looks better than it was before. We event have a 82% on Google's Page Speed tool which is quite cool for a site with some ads in it :) Lately, we have signed a deal with Akamai to use two of their products : CDN for our static files (we were using another CDN before but it wasn't very effective) and RMA to improve Networks routes. We have also introduced a new agressive cache mecanism to ensure that most of the pages served to crawlers are cached by our memcache grid. After checking my metrics, it seems that this changes have improved from 650ms to about 500ms, which is good (still not great but it is definitly an improvement). But webmaster tools continues to report an increasing average response time where we see it decreasing in the same time. Have you ever had the same kind of wierd behavior on your sites while doing performance improvements ? Do you have any idea how to monitor the same thing Google does with Site Performance in Google Webmaster Tools so that we could improve our site and constantly check if it is what Google wants ? Edit 2011/07/26 : Thanks for your answers guys ! Nevertheless, I was not precise enough. The main issue we have is not with the Site Performance page but with the Crawl Stats one for now. We probably found an issue on our side with some very slow pages (around 3000 ms !!) and we are trying to fix them. I'll keep you posted as soon I'll have some infos. Thanks again !

I am interested to know if anyone has documented the techniques used in popular games with proven success in this area. Ideally, any resource would cover most common types of stats and include layman mathematical models or techniques used to balance game mechanics found in advanced MMORPGs (I know it's a cliché, but WoW style) Any help would be great!

  • Automatic Maintenance Jobs in every PDB? New SPM Evolve Advisor Task in Oracle 12.1.0.2

    A customer checking out our slides from the OTN Tour in August 2014 asked me a finicky question the other day: "According to the documentation the Automatic SQL Tuning Advisor maintenance task gets executed only within the CDB$ROOT, but not within each PDB - but the slides are not clear here. So what is the truth?" Ok, that's good question. In my understanding all tasks will get executed within each PDB - that's why we recommend (based on experience) to break up the default maintenance windows when using Oracle Multitenant. Otherwise all PDBs will have the same maintenance windows, and guess what will happen when 25 PDBs start gathering object statistics at the same time ... The documentation indeed says: Automatic SQL Tuning Advisor data is stored in the root. It might have results about SQL statements executed in a PDB that were analyzed by the advisor, but these results are not included if the PDB is unplugged. A common user whose current container is the root can run SQL Tuning Advisor manually for SQL statements from any PDB. When a statement is tuned, it is tuned in any container that runs the statement. This sounds reasonable. But when we have a look into our PDBs or into the CDB_AUTOTASK_CLIENT view the result is different from what the doc says. This new task doesn't appear as a stand-alone job (client) in the maintenance window but runs as a sub-entity of the Automatic SQL Tuning Advisor task.   • How can I make Maya export a mesh as double-sided?

    I'm exporting from Maya 2009 to OBJ. The mesh I'm exporting has in it's Render Stats "Double Sided" checked, but when the polygon is exported, only a single side is actually exported. What really needs to happen is for each polygon that is double sided, two polygons need to be exported, facing in opposite directions.. I can do this manually, but is there a way to make the OBJ exporter do it for me?

  • What to do with a site that has multiple languages in Google Analytics...

    We have a site that has four "streams" for language and each language has different content based on that language and location (US English, Spanish, Canadian English and Canadian French). I'm wondering if I have to set up accounts for each stream so that we can see the stats from each stream only, or do I use one account and somehow tell GA to separate the different streams based on language. For example, the US English site starts at (/en/) while the Canadian English site starts at (/ca_en/), etc.

  • How do I save files with libgdx so that users can't read them?

    Writing my game in libgdx, I arrived at the point when I need to save the player stats and the info of the levels. However, in libgdx it's not allowed to write the file inside folder of the application, only external (on the SD) is allowed. The point is that I don't want the file to be seen by anyone, or if they can see it, how can I convert it to a binary file so it's not human readable? I just want to hide the file.

    I am trying to run parser from here, but it gives this error: This program requires jinja2 version 2.7 or later I have already installed the jinja2 package by running sudo apt-get install python-jinja2. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong (with a little guide to run the tool as well)? The m5out folder is here, with the stats for a ARM core simulation, so you don't have to install gem5 to get those two files required by the script.
