I am trying to schedule the opening of a commandline to run task in another pc. But I am not able to open them.

How can we remove the windows service using the commandline ?
Hi!
I need to install an ISAPI extension on IIS 5.1 using commandline. On windows server 2003 there is a script iisext.vbs but on windows xp it's not present.
A while back, I came across a random password generator for the commandline that displayed a grid of "memorable" passwords. Output was something like this:
adam@host:~$ CantRememberThisCommand
lkajsdf aksjdfl
kqwrupo qwerpoi
qwerklw zxlkelq
The idea was that you could run this utility while someone was looking over your shoulder, and still pick a password with some level of secrecy due to the large number of choices.
I cannot remember what this utility was called. Oh interwebs, can you help?
I have written a stored procedure in MSSQL Server 2008 R2 which sends emails when my Application logs errors. It works fine on servers at our office but when I ran it on our remote servers I got
must issue a starttls command first
So maybe there is a setting somewhere which is different between the two servers, and that's why it's working on one and not the other. How do I set the server so that it issues a "starttls commaned first"?
I'm trying to learn PHP and I'm just in the process of installing apache, msql and PHP.
I'm on a mac osx 10.7.2
Processor 2.26 GHz intel core 2 due
I downloaded: mysql-5.5.18-osx10.6-x86_64.dmg
I'm now at the point of setting the root password and when I type in: sudo: mysql_secure_installation it asks me to enter my password, then it says:
sudo: mysql_secure_installation: command not found
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
I tried export HISTTIMEFORMAT='%D %T' but it seems the time stamp of commands executed before I set HISTTIMEFORMAT will be the time I logged in current session. Is this normal? Is there any way to check when did the previous command executed? Thanks.
I am wondering what is the command in Windows to show the current local directory? I am now working in PUTTY psftp mode, so the current directory is not shown in prompt.
Also is there GUI for ssh and sftp under windows? I don't think PUTTY offer anything GUI?
Thanks!
Hi,
I have a 2 1.5TB drives containing numerous video, audio, documents etc that I would like to essentially mirror to 2 other drives for backup. I would like to do this using rsync (as it seems the most appropriate thing to use).
What command should I use to do so? Is there anything to be aware of when rsyncing NTFS partitioned drives/files?
If the use the following scp command then I get an error:
scp -P 22 [email protected]: /home/username/public_html/* ./
The error I get is:
stdin: is not a tty
scp: .: not a regular file
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for help.
I'm wondering where to find detailed information regarding the Microsoft Advanced Windows Firewall commandline settings. For instance, from reading a couple technet articles I've learned that I can run the following:
netsh advfirewall firewall set rule group=”File and Printer Sharing” new enable=Yes
The bit about 'group="File and Printer Sharing"' is the part I'm having trouble finding documentation for.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. And, if possible, I'd rather a pointer to the docs than a simple listing of group names.
Please, recommend network bandwidth limiter for windows which can be controlled from commandline. No need for fancy options, only limiting of up and down traffic on a host required.
I get different output of file command on same file(checked inode) from different machines.
One of the machines is with suse10 sp3 and the another - rhel4.
machine1>file x.tcl
x.tcl: ASCII English text
machin2>file x.tcl
x.tcl: data
Even in vi editor same file look different from different machine. Any clue?
One more thing - there's third machine suse10 sp3 works fine. Is this machine issue?
I am writing a batch file to compress a folder using various archiving applications.
Currently I also use Winrar (X64) but manually set up the parameters
I would like to add rar to my batch
The folder concerned has many sub folders and I need to take this into account
What is the commandline for the following keeping folder structure?:
Solid Archive,
Archive Format=RAR5,
Compression Method=Best,
Dictionary Size=1024MB
Many thanks
In Ubuntu, when we right-click a icon and use "open with", there is an option to remember that application for that file's type.
For some reason, my system is no more memorizing the application (I think it was aftare some update).
And, even when I have already used the "open with" command, the application is not showing in the "open with" list, so I have, everytime, to go to "open with"-"Other Application".
Any hint to solve this?
I'm a newbie to Xen, and I've recently installed Xen 4.2 by sources on my system.
I've found a strange thing I've a VM when I start it via the command "xm create machine.cfg" all work fine, but if I use "xl create machine.cfg" it gives me the following error
xc: error: panic: xc_dom_core.c:442: xc_dom_alloc_segment: segment ramdisk too large (0x4ba 0x2000 - 0x1bd9 pages): Out of memory
libxl: error: libxl_dom.c:208:libxl__build_pv xc_dom_build_image failed: Invalid argument
cannot (re-)build domain: -3
xenconsole: Could not read tty from store: No such file or directory
What could be the problem? Any idea?
I'm using evrouter to simulate keypresses from my mouses extra buttons. It works great but I need to run the command with sudo to make it work so I can't just use my DE to handle autostart.
I considered init.d but from what I've heard this only works for different stages of boot, and I need this to run as root after login.
$ cat .evrouterrc
"Logitech G500" "/dev/input/event4" any key/277 "XKey/0"
"Logitech G500" "/dev/input/event4" any key/280 "XKey/9"
"Logitech G500" "/dev/input/event4" any key/281 "XKey/8"
$ sudo evrouter /dev/input/event4
How would one modify the following line in iptables file (debian)?
ACCEPT all -- XXX.XXX.XX.X anywhere PHYSDEV match --physdev-in vif3.1
TO
ACCEPT all -- YYY.YYY.YY.Y anywhere PHYSDEV match --physdev-in vif3.1
I looked up the https://wiki.debian.org/iptables
and I'm having hard time figuring out how to exactly do this modification.
Can it be done using one command, or there is a way to temporally "extract" the iptables file and modify it using nano or vi, and put it back in place?
simple issue.. I'm a noob
I am running a cisco 5500 ASA which is used to manage a VPN, I need the command used to check the current user list.
I think it might be an 'access-list', if so I have no idea what the name of the access list is, is there a way to show the access lists?
thanks.
Is there a CLI command or program that will list available wireless access points? I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 on a laptop and sometimes I boot straight into the CLI instead of a GUI. I know iwconfig can configure a connection but will not list available AP's.
Is there a way to get DVD region code from commandline (linux/ubuntu 9.10)?
I want to script this action and store the region code (and other data about DVD) in a log.
