    Can someone please explain what the "partition by" keyword does and give a simple example of it in action, as well as why one would want to use it? An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?)". I don't know why. Previous I used VisualStudio 2010 but my trial has expired. Is there any hope to run this on SharpDevelop?

    Why would bitmap outperform vector? My Flash is for a large Kiosk, with rich media requirements and must function accurately as a counter. I want to keep everything vector for scalability. When I did a simple FPS test, I noticed my Bitmap version performed perfectly, and the all vector file was noticeably slower. PLEASE EXPLAIN • vector performance• what graphic standards I can apply• solutions for using vector KIOSK TEST ANIMATION RESULTS • only text and bitmap perform well, not vector • background and clouds OK, but more layers slow it down

    Hi all, I'm just wondering if there's any way for WPF application integrated with windows live ID? and it's actually for windows health vault [www.healthvault.com] so health vault is using windows live id or open id to login into their system. and what i gonna do is, creating wpf application (instead of web application) for health vault, so all of the login form username pass and everything is handled inside the wpf application without showing/using any internet browser. so since this's quite new for me, i hope if there's somebody ever did this before especially for health vault system that run on standalone wpf app. alright, so that's it, thank you in advance!

    Hi everyone! I need to translate colors in bitmap loaded to BufferedImage from RGB to YCbCr (luminance and 2 channels chrominance) and back after process. I made it with functions used like rgb2ycbcr() in main method for each pixel, but it isn't so smart solution. I should use ColorSpace and ColorModel classes to get BufferedImage with correct color space. It would be more flexible method, but I don't know how to do that. I'm lost and I need some tips. Can somebody help me?

    I read about subquery in Criteria, but I am still unable to grasp it properly. So, here I am taking one example and if somebody can help me writing that using subquery it will be great. Lets say we have table Employee{EmployeeId.(int),Name(string),Post(string),No_Of_years_working(int)} Now I want all the employees who are Managers and working for less than 10 years. I know that we can get the result without using subqueries but I wanna use subquery just to understand how it works in criteria. So, how I can write Criteria using subquery to get those employees.     Hi, I'm currently using this code to calculate the sunrise / sunset times. (To be more precise, I'm looking for civil dawn / civil dusk times which are defined as the time when the sun is between 0° and -6° altitude). As a next step, I'd like to compute the dawn beginning and dusk ending times. I believe the calculations must be very similar. My idea is that if I want to calculate the dawn beginning (dusk ending) time for a place I just calculate the sunrise (sunset) times for a place 6° farther east (west). Can somebody confirm this assumption, or am I thinking wrong? Thanks for answers! -- Ry

  • Will pool the connection help threading in sqlite (and how)?

    I currently use a singleton to acces my database (see related question) but now when try to add some background processing everything fall apart. I read the sqlite docs and found that sqlite could work thread-safe, but each thread must have their own db connection. I try using egodatabase that promise a sqlite wrapper with thread safety but is very buggy, so I return to my old FMDB library I start to see how use it in multi-thread way. Because I have all code with the idea of singleton, change everything will be expensive (and a lot of open/close connections could become slow), so I wonder if, as the sqlite docs hint, build a pooling for each connection will help. If is the case, how make it? How know wich connection get from the pool (because 2 threads can't share the connection)? I wonder if somebody already use sqlite in multu-threading with NSOperation or similar stuff, my searching only return "yeah, its possible" but let the details to my imagination...

  • Streaming a non-PCM WAV file to a SilverLight application

    Hi, I would like to allow users to play recorded WAV files that stored on a server back to a Silverlight application as a client to play them. I saw that there is a way to play a WAV file on Silverlight (here), but when i tried to impliment it, i got an error playing the file because it is not in PCM format but encoded. The files that i'm trying to play are encoded with a special encoder, so i thought that the only way is to decode the WAV file on the server and stream it back to the client. The limitation is that the decode process should occur in real time because it is not reasonable to convert all the WAV files that exists. Is it possible to do it? Which streamer can i use? (Windows Media Service can help here?) Does somebody has any experience with such a scenario? Appreciate your help.
