  • JNI loses reference to native methods

    - by lhw
    As an example for later use in Android I wrote a simple callback interface. While doing so i ran into the following error or bug or whatever. In C the two commented lines are supposed to be executed resulting in calling the C callback onChange. But instead i get an UnsatisfiedLinkError. Calling the native Method directly in Java works just fine. Calling it directly from C as presented here in the example also produces the UnsatisfiedLinkError. I'm open for any advice concerning this issue or work arounds and so on. The Java Part: import java.util.LinkedList; import java.util.Random; interface Listener { public void onChange(float f); } class Provider { LinkedList<Listener> all; public Provider() { all = new LinkedList<Listener>(); } public void registerChange(Listener lst) { all.add(lst); } public void sendMsg() { Random rnd = new Random(); for(Listener l : all) { try { l.onChange(rnd.nextFloat()); } catch(Exception e) { System.out.println(e); } } } } class Inheritance implements Listener { static public void main(String[] args) { System.load(System.getProperty("user.dir") + "/libinheritance.so"); } public native void onChange(float f); } The C Part: #include "inheritance.h" jint JNI_OnLoad(JavaVM *jvm, void *reserved) { JNIEnv *env; (*jvm)->GetEnv(jvm, (void**)&env, JNI_VERSION_1_4); inheritance = (*env)->FindClass(env, "Inheritance"); o_inheritance = (*env)->NewObject(env, inheritance, (*env)->GetMethodID(env, inheritance, "<init>", "()V")); provider = (*env)->FindClass(env, "Provider"); o_provider = (*env)->NewObject(env, provider, (*env)->GetMethodID(env, provider, "<init>", "()V")); (*env)->CallVoidMethod(env, o_inheritance, (*env)->GetMethodID(env, inheritance, "onChange", "(F)V"), 1.0); //(*env)->CallVoidMethod(env, o_provider, (*env)->GetMethodID(env, provider, "registerChange", "(LListener;)V"), o_inheritance); //(*env)->CallVoidMethod(env, o_provider, (*env)->GetMethodID(env, provider, "sendMsg", "()V")); (*env)->DeleteLocalRef(env, o_inheritance); (*env)->DeleteLocalRef(env, o_provider); return JNI_VERSION_1_4; } JNIEXPORT void JNICALL Java_Inheritance_onChange(JNIEnv *env, jobject self, jfloat f) { printf("[C] %f\n", f); } The header file: #include <jni.h> /* Header for class Inheritance */ #ifndef _Included_Inheritance #define _Included_Inheritance #ifdef __cplusplus extern "C" { #endif jclass inheritance, provider; jobject o_inheritance, o_provider; /* * Class: Inheritance * Method: onChange * Signature: (F)V */ JNIEXPORT void JNICALL Java_Inheritance_onChange(JNIEnv *, jobject, jfloat); jint JNI_OnLoad(JavaVM *, void *); #ifdef __cplusplus } #endif #endif Compilation: gcc -c -fPIC -I /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/include -I /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/include/linux/inheritance.c inheritance.h gcc -g -o -shared libinheritance.so -shared -Wl,-soname,libinheritance.so -lc inheritance.o

  • How do I avoid the loader lock?

    - by Mark0978
    We have a managed app, that uses an assembly. That assembly uses some unmanaged C++ code. The Managed C++ code is in a dll, that depends on several other dlls. All of those Dlls are loaded by this code. (We load all the dll's that ImageCore.dll depends on first, so we can tell which ones are missing, otherwise it would just show up as ImageCore.dll failed to load, and the log file would give no clues as to why). class Interop { private const int DONT_RESOLVE_DLL_REFERENCES = 1; private static log4net.ILog log = log4net.LogManager.GetLogger("Imagecore.NET"); [DllImport("kernel32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, SetLastError = true)] private static extern IntPtr LoadLibraryEx(string fileName, IntPtr dummy, int flags); [DllImport("kernel32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, SetLastError = true)] private static extern IntPtr FreeLibrary(IntPtr hModule); static private String[] libs = { "log4cplus.dll", "yaz.dll", "zlib1.dll", "libxml2.dll" }; public static void PreloadAssemblies() { for (int i=0; i < libs.Length; ++i) { String libname = libs[i]; IntPtr hModule = LoadLibraryEx(libname, IntPtr.Zero, DONT_RESOLVE_DLL_REFERENCES); if(hModule == IntPtr.Zero) { log.Error("Unable to pre-load '" + libname + "'"); throw new DllNotFoundException("Unable to pre-load '" + libname + "'"); } else { FreeLibrary(hModule); } } IntPtr h = LoadLibraryEx("ImageCore.dll", IntPtr.Zero, 0); if (h == IntPtr.Zero) { throw new DllNotFoundException("Unable to pre-load ImageCore.dll"); } } } And this code is called by public class ImageDoc : IDisposable { static ImageDoc() { ImageHawk.ImageCore.Utility.Interop.PreloadAssemblies(); } ... } Which is static constructor. As near as I can understand it, as soon as we attempt to use an ImageDoc object, the dll that contains that assembly is loaded and as part of that load, the static constructor is called which in turn causes several other DLLs to be loaded as well. What I'm trying to figure out, is how do we defer loading of those DLLs so that we don't run smack dab into this loader lock that is being kicked out because of the static constructor. I've pieced this much together by looking at: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vsto/thread/dd192d7e-ce92-49ce-beef-3816c88e5a86 http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa290048%28VS.71%29.aspx http://forums.devx.com/showthread.php?t=53529 http://www.yoda.arachsys.com/csharp/beforefieldinit.html But I just can't seem to find a way to get these external DLLs to load without it happening at the point the class is loading. I think I need to get these LoadLibrary calls out of the static constructor, but don't know how to get them called before they are needed (except for how it is done here). I would prefer to not have to put this kind of knowledge of the dlls into every app that uses this assembly. (And I'm not sure that would even fix the problem.... The strange thing is that the exception only appears to be happening while running within the debugger, not while running outside the debugger.

  • Java: why is declaration not sufficient in interface?

    - by HH
    Big class contains Format-interfcase and Format-class. The Format-class contains the methods and the interface has the values of the fields. I could have the fields in the class Format but the goal is with Interface. So do I just create dummy-vars to get the errors away, design issue or something ELSE? KEY: Declaration VS Initialisation Explain by the terms, why you have to init in interface. What is the logic behind it? To which kind of problems it leads the use of interface? Sample Code having the init-interface-problem import java.util.*; import java.io.*; public class FormatBig { private static class Format implements Format { private static long getSize(File f){return f.length();} private static long getTime(File f){return f.lastModified();} private static boolean isFile(File f){if(f.isFile()){return true;}} private static boolean isBinary(File f){return Match.isBinary(f);} private static char getType(File f){return Match.getTypes(f);} private static String getPath(File f){return getNoErrPath(f);} //Java API: isHidden, --- SYSTEM DEPENDED: toURI, toURL Format(File f) { // PUZZLE 0: would Stack<Object> be easier? size=getSize(f); time=getTime(f); isfile=isFile(f); isBinary=isBinary(f); type=getType(f); path=getPath(f); //PUZZLE 1: how can simplify the assignment? values.push(size); values.push(time); values.push(isfile); values.push(isBinary); values.push(type); values.push(path); } } public static String getNoErrPath(File f) { try{return f.getCanonicalPath(); }catch(Exception e){e.printStackTrace();} } public static final interface Format { //ERR: IT REQUIRES "=" public long size; public long time; public boolean isFile=true; //ERROR goes away if I initialise wit DUMMY public boolean isBinary; public char type; public String path; Stack<Object> values=new Stack<Object>(); } public static void main(String[] args) { Format fm=new Format(new File(".")); for(Object o:values){System.out.println(o);} } }

  • How to packing Resources in Maven Project?

    - by Rehman
    I am looking for suggestion in putting image file maven web project. One of classes under src/main/java need to use an image file. My problem is, if i put image file under src/main/webapp/images then application server cannot find that path on runtime(where myeclipse can ) because war archive do not have specified path "src/main/webapp/images". My question is where should i put the image file that my project can find it without prompting any error or exception. I am using Java Web Application with Mavenized falvour MyEclipse 10 Application Server: JBoss 6 Currently i do have following dir structure Project Directory Structure -src/main/java -- classes -src/main/resources -- applicationContext.xml -src/test/java -- test classes -src/test/resources (nothing) -src -- main --- webapp --WEB-INF --Images --Css --Meta-INF -target -pom.xml And pom.xml's build snippet is as follows <build> <sourceDirectory>${basedir}/src/main/java</sourceDirectory> <outputDirectory>${basedir}/target/${project.artifactId}/classes</outputDirectory> <resources> <resource> <directory>${basedir}/src/main/resources</directory> <excludes> <exclude>**/*.java</exclude> </excludes> </resource> </resources> <testResources> <testResource> <directory>${basedir}/src/test/resources</directory> </testResource> </testResources> <finalName>${project.artifactId}</finalName> <plugins> <plugin> <artifactId>maven-compiler-plugin</artifactId> <configuration> <source>${jdk.version}</source> <target>${jdk.version}</target> <optimize>true</optimize> <useProjectReferences>true</useProjectReferences> </configuration> </plugin> <plugin> <artifactId>maven-war-plugin</artifactId> <version>2.1.1</version> <configuration> <warSourceDirectory>${basedir}/src/main/webapp</warSourceDirectory> <webResources> <resource> <directory>${basedir}/src/main/resources</directory> </resource> </webResources> </configuration> </plugin> </plugins> </build> Thanks in advance

  • Why does Font.registerFont throw an error the second time a swf is loaded?

    - by Al Brown
    I've found an issue (in flash cs5) when using TLFTextfields and fonts shared at runtime, and I wondered if anyone has a solution. Here's the scenario. Fonts.swf: library for fonts (runtime shared DF4) Popup.swf: popup with a TLFTextfield (with text in it) using a font from Fonts.swf Main.swf : the main swf with a button that loads and unloads Popup.swf (using Loader or SafeLoader give the same results) Nice and simple, Run main.swf, click button and the popup appears with the text. Click the button again to remove the popup. All well and good now click the button again and I get the following error. ArgumentError: Error #1508: The value specified for argument font is invalid. at flash.text::Font$/registerFont() at Popup_fla::MainTimeline()[Popup_fla.MainTimeline::MainTimeline:12] I'm presuming it's happening because the font is already registered (checked when clicking before the load). Does anyone know how to get past this? If you are wondering here's my Main.as package { import fl.controls.Button; import flash.display.Loader; import flash.display.Sprite; import flash.events.Event; import flash.events.IOErrorEvent; import flash.events.MouseEvent; import flash.events.UncaughtErrorEvent; import flash.net.URLRequest; import flash.text.Font; public class Main extends Sprite { public var testPopupBtn:Button; protected var loader:Loader; public function Main() { trace("Main.Main()"); testPopupBtn.label = "open"; testPopupBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, testClickHandler); } protected function testClickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { trace("Main.testClickHandler(event)"); if(loader) { testPopupBtn.label = "open"; this.removeChild(loader); //loader.unloadAndStop(); loader = null; }else{ testPopupBtn.label = "close"; trace("Registered Fonts -->"); var fonts:Array = Font.enumerateFonts(false); for each (var font:Font in fonts) { trace("\t",font.fontName, font.fontStyle, font.fontType); } trace("<--"); loader = new Loader(); loader.uncaughtErrorEvents.addEventListener(UncaughtErrorEvent.UNCAUGHT_ERROR, uncaughtErrorHandler); this.addChild(loader); try{ loader.load(new URLRequest("Popup.swf")); }catch(e:*){ trace(e); } } } private function uncaughtErrorHandler(event:UncaughtErrorEvent):void { trace("Main.uncaughtErrorHandler(event)", event); } } }

  • UITableview has problem reloading

    - by seelani
    Hi guys, I've kinda finished my application for a school project but have run into a major "bug". It's a account management application. I'm unable to insert a picture here so here's a link: http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee112/seelani/Screenshot2010-12-22atPM075512.png Here's the problem when i click on the plus sign, i push a nav controller to load another view to handle the adding and deleting of categories. When i add and return back to the view above, it doesn't update. It only updates after i hit the button on the right which is another view used to change some settings, and return back to the page. I did some research on viewWillAppear and such but I'm still confused to why it doesn't work properly. This problem is also affecting my program when i delete a category, and return back to this view it crashes cos the view has not reloaded successfully. I will get this error when deleting and returning to the view. "* Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '* -[NSMutableArray objectAtIndex:]: index 4 beyond bounds [0 .. 3]'". • Setting an XAML Window always on top (but no TopMost property)

    - by Brian Scherady
    I am developing an application based on OptiTrack SDK (from NaturalPoint). I need to run the application window as "Always on Top". The window is designed in XAML and is controled in the class "CameraView" but it does not seem to include a "TopMost" property or equivalent. Attached are the code of "CameraView.xaml.cs" and the code of "CameraView.xaml" that are part of OptiTrack SDK (NaturalPoint) called "Single_Camera_CSharp_.NET_3.0". One could expect the class CameraView to contain properties or members to set the position of the window on the screen or to set it to TopMost but as far as searched I found nothing. I wonder what I should do. • C# Reading and Writing a Char[] to and from a Byte[]

    - by Simon G
    Hi, I have a byte array of around 10,000 bytes which is basically a blob from delphi that contains char, string, double and arrays of various types. This need to be read in and updated via C#. I've created a very basic reader that gets the byte array from the db and converts the bytes to the relevant object type when accessing the property which works fine. My problem is when I try to write to a specific char[] item, it doesn't seem to update the byte array. I've created the following extensions for reading and writing: public static class CharExtension { public static byte ToByte( this char c ) { return Convert.ToByte( c ); } public static byte ToByte( this char c, int position, byte[] blob ) { byte b = c.ToByte(); blob[position] = b; return b; } } public static class CharArrayExtension { public static byte[] ToByteArray( this char[] c ) { byte[] b = new byte[c.Length]; for ( int i = 1; i < c.Length; i++ ) { b[i] = c[i].ToByte(); } return b; } public static byte[] ToByteArray( this char[] c, int positon, int length, byte[] blob ) { byte[] b = c.ToByteArray(); Array.Copy( b, 0, blob, positon, length ); return b; } } public static class ByteExtension { public static char ToChar( this byte[] b, int position ) { return Convert.ToChar( b[position] ); } } public static class ByteArrayExtension { public static char[] ToCharArray( this byte[] b, int position, int length ) { char[] c = new char[length]; for ( int i = 0; i < length; i++ ) { c[i] = b.ToChar( position ); position += 1; } return c; } } to read and write chars and char arrays my code looks like: Byte[] _Blob; // set from a db field public char ubin { get { return _tariffBlob.ToChar( 14 ); } set { value.ToByte( 14, _Blob ); } } public char[] usercaplas { get { return _tariffBlob.ToCharArray( 2035, 10 ); } set { value.ToByteArray( 2035, 10, _Blob ); } } So to write to the objects I can do: ubin = 'C'; // this will update the byte[] usercaplas = new char[10] { 'A', 'B', etc. }; // this will update the byte[] usercaplas[3] = 'C'; // this does not update the byte[] I know the reason is that the setter property is not being called but I want to know is there a way around this using code similar to what I already have? I know a possible solution is to use a private variable called _usercaplas that I set and update as needed however as the byte array is nearly 10,000 bytes in length the class is already long and I would like a simpler approach as to reduce the overall code length and complexity. Thank

  • A "Trig" Calculating Class

    - by Clinton Scott
    I have been trying to create a gui that calculates trigonometric functions based off of the user's input. I have had success in the GUI part, but my class that I wrote to hold information using inheritance seems to be messed up, because when I run it gives an error saying: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.RuntimeException: Uncompilable source code - constructor ArcTrigCalcCon in class TrigCalc.ArcTrigCalcCon cannot be applied to given types; required: double,double,double,double,double,double found: java.lang.Double,java.lang.Double,java.lang.Double reason: actual and formal argument lists differ in length at TrigCalc.TrigCalcGUI.(TrigCalcGUI.java:31) at TrigCalc.TrigCalcGUI.main(TrigCalcGUI.java:87) Java Result: 1 and says it is the object causing the problem. Below Will be my code. First I will put up my inheritance class with cosecant secant and cotangent and then my original class with the original 3 trig functions: { public ArcTrigCalcCon(double s, double cs, double t, double csc, double sc, double ct) { // Inherit from the Trig Calc class super(s, cs, t); cosecant = 1/s; secant = 1/cs; cotangent = 1/t; } public void setCsc(double csc) { cosecant = csc; } public void setSec(double sc) { secant = sc; } public void setCot(double ct) { cotangent = ct; } } Here is the first Trigonometric class: public class TrigCalcCon { public double sine; public double cosine; public double tangent; public TrigCalcCon(double s, double cs, double t) { sine = s; cosine = cs; tangent = t; } public void setSin(double s) { sine = s; } public void setCos(double cs) { cosine = cs; } public void setTan(double t) { tangent = t; } public void set(double s, double cs, double t) { sine = s; cosine = cs; tangent = t; } public double getSin() { return Math.sin(sine); } public double getCos() { return Math.cos(cosine); } public double getTan() { return Math.tan(tangent); } } and here is the demo class to run the gui: public class TrigCalcGUI extends JFrame implements ActionListener { // Instance Variables private String input; • Why do I get a WCF timeout even though my service call and callback are successful?

    - by KallDrexx
    I'm playing around with hooking up an in-game console to a WCF interface, so an external application can send console commands and receive console output. To accomplish this I created the following service contracts: public interface IConsoleNetworkCallbacks { [OperationContract(IsOneWay = true)] void NewOutput(IEnumerable<string> text, string category); } [ServiceContract(SessionMode = SessionMode.Required, CallbackContract = typeof(IConsoleNetworkCallbacks))] public interface IConsoleInterface { [OperationContract] void ProcessInput(string input); [OperationContract] void ChangeCategory(string category); } On the server I implemented it with: public class ConsoleNetworkInterface : IConsoleInterface, IDisposable { public ConsoleNetworkInterface() { ConsoleManager.Instance.RegisterOutputUpdateHandler(OutputHandler); } public void Dispose() { ConsoleManager.Instance.UnregisterOutputHandler(OutputHandler); } public void ProcessInput(string input) { ConsoleManager.Instance.ProcessInput(input); } public void ChangeCategory(string category) { ConsoleManager.Instance.UnregisterOutputHandler(OutputHandler); ConsoleManager.Instance.RegisterOutputUpdateHandler(OutputHandler, category); } protected void OutputHandler(IEnumerable<string> text, string category) { var callbacks = OperationContext.Current.GetCallbackChannel<IConsoleNetworkCallbacks>(); callbacks.NewOutput(text, category); } } On the client I implemented the callback with: public class Callbacks : IConsoleNetworkCallbacks { public void NewOutput(IEnumerable<string> text, string category) { MessageBox.Show(string.Format("{0} lines received for '{1}' category", text.Count(), category)); } } Finally, I establish the service host with the following class: public class ConsoleServiceHost : IDisposable { protected ServiceHost _host; public ConsoleServiceHost() { _host = new ServiceHost(typeof(ConsoleNetworkInterface), new Uri[] { new Uri("net.pipe://localhost") }); _host.AddServiceEndpoint(typeof(IConsoleInterface), new NetNamedPipeBinding(), "FrbConsolePipe"); _host.Open(); } public void Dispose() { _host.Close(); } } and use the following code on my client to establish the connection: protected Callbacks _callbacks; protected IConsoleInterface _proxy; protected void ConnectToConsoleServer() { _callbacks = new Callbacks(); var factory = new DuplexChannelFactory<IConsoleInterface>(_callbacks, new NetNamedPipeBinding(), new EndpointAddress("net.pipe://localhost/FrbConsolePipe")); _proxy = factory.CreateChannel(); _proxy.ProcessInput("Connected"); } So what happens is that my ConnectToConsoleServer() is called and then it gets all the way to _proxy.ProcessInput("Connected");. In my game (on the server) I immediately see the output caused by the ProcessInput call, but the client is still stalled on the _proxy.ProcessInput() call. After a minute my client gets a JIT TimeoutException however at the same time my MessageBox message appears. So obviously not only is my command being sent immediately, my callback is being correctly called. So why am I getting a timeout exception? Note: Even removing the MessageBox call, I still have this issue, so it's not an issue of the GUI blocking the callback response.

  • Progress dialog getting dismissed before the thread gets finished - Android

    - by user264953
    Hi experts, I use the code provided by Fedor in the following link, in order to get the latitude and longitude from my simple demo app. I am trying to fetch the latitude and longitude using the MyLocation class provided by him in that link. What is the simplest and most robust way to get the user's current location in Android? I try to fetch the latitude and longitude on a button click. On the button click, I start an async task and delegate the location fetching work to the do in background method of my asynctask. pre execute - progressdialog initiated. post execute - progress dialog dismissed. This is how, the progress dialog in my code should work and here is the issue which I have. THe progress dialog gets initiated correctly, but even before the latitude and longitude gets printed in the doinbackground method, the progress dialog gets dismissed. I do not understand why this happens. Here is my front end activity public class LocationServices extends Activity { MyLocation myLocation = new MyLocation(); LocationResult locationResult; TextView tv1, tv2; Location location; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); tv1 = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.tv1); tv2 = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.tv2); Button btn = (Button) findViewById(R.id.Button01); btn.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { new LocationAsyncTasking().execute(); } }); } public class LocationAsyncTasking extends AsyncTask<String, Void, Void> { ProgressDialog dialog; int totalAvail; protected void onPreExecute() { // this.dialog.setMessage("Inserting data..."); dialog = new ProgressDialog(LocationServices.this); this.dialog.setMessage("Fetching data..."); this.dialog.show(); } protected Void doInBackground(String... args) { Looper.prepare(); locationResult = new LocationResult() { public void gotLocation(Location location) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub // LocationServices.this.location = location; System.out.println("Progress dialog should be present now - latitude"+location.getLatitude()); System.out.println("Progress dialog should be present now - longitude"+location.getLongitude()); } }; myLocation.getLocation(LocationServices.this, locationResult); return (null); } protected void onProgressUpdate(Integer... progress) { } protected void onPostExecute(Void unused) { dialog.dismiss(); } } } I am quite puzzled, thinking of what makes this progress dialog disappear even before the SOP in doinbackground is finished. Experts, please help me understand and resolve this issue. Any help in this regard is well appreciated. Looking forward, Best Regards, Rony

  • StreamWriter appends random data

    - by void
    Hi I'm seeing odd behaviour using the StreamWriter class writing extra data to a file using this code: public void WriteToCSV(string filename) { StreamWriter streamWriter = null; try { streamWriter = new StreamWriter(filename); Log.Info("Writing CSV report header information ... "); streamWriter.WriteLine("\"{0}\",\"{1}\",\"{2}\",\"{3}\"", ((int)CSVRecordType.Header).ToString("D2", CultureInfo.CurrentCulture), m_InputFilename, m_LoadStartDate, m_LoadEndDate); int recordCount = 0; if (SummarySection) { Log.Info("Writing CSV report summary section ... "); foreach (KeyValuePair<KeyValuePair<LoadStatus, string>, CategoryResult> categoryResult in m_DataLoadResult.DataLoadResults) { streamWriter.WriteLine("\"{0}\",\"{1}\",\"{2}\",\"{3}\"", ((int)CSVRecordType.Summary).ToString("D2", CultureInfo.CurrentCulture), categoryResult.Value.StatusString, categoryResult.Value.Count.ToString(CultureInfo.CurrentCulture), categoryResult.Value.Category); recordCount++; } } Log.Info("Writing CSV report cases section ... "); foreach (KeyValuePair<KeyValuePair<LoadStatus, string>, CategoryResult> categoryResult in m_DataLoadResult.DataLoadResults) { foreach (CaseLoadResult result in categoryResult.Value.CaseLoadResults) { if ((LoadStatus.Success == result.Status && SuccessCases) || (LoadStatus.Warnings == result.Status && WarningCases) || (LoadStatus.Failure == result.Status && FailureCases) || (LoadStatus.NotProcessed == result.Status && NotProcessedCases)) { streamWriter.Write("\"{0}\",\"{1}\",\"{2}\",\"{3}\",\"{4}\"", ((int)CSVRecordType.Result).ToString("D2", CultureInfo.CurrentCulture), result.Status, result.UniqueId, result.Category, result.ClassicReference); if (RawResponse) { streamWriter.Write(",\"{0}\"", result.ResponseXml); } streamWriter.WriteLine(); recordCount++; } } } streamWriter.WriteLine("\"{0}\",\"{1}\"", ((int)CSVRecordType.Count).ToString("D2", CultureInfo.CurrentCulture), recordCount); Log.Info("CSV report written to '{0}'", fileName); } catch (IOException execption) { string errorMessage = string.Format(CultureInfo.CurrentCulture, "Unable to write XML report to '{0}'", fileName); Log.Error(errorMessage); Log.Error(exception.Message); throw new MyException(errorMessage, exception); } finally { if (null != streamWriter) { streamWriter.Close(); } } } The file produced contains a set of records on each line 0 to N, for example: [Record Zero] [Record One] ... [Record N] However the file produced either contains nulls or incomplete records from further up the file appended to the end. For example: [Record Zero] [Record One] ... [Record N] [Lots of nulls] or [Record Zero] [Record One] ... [Record N] [Half complete records] This also happens in separate pieces of code that also use the StreamWriter class. Furthermore, the files produced all have sizes that are multiples of 1024. I've been unable to reproduce this behaviour on any other machine and have tried recreating the environment. Previous versions of the application didn't exhibite this behaviour despite having the same code for the methods in question. EDIT: Added extra code.
