I have installed the windows XP on which i have the VMWare as virtual server. I want to install / Host the sharepoint in such scenario in VMWare . Is that possible ?
Error i am getting:--
E: I wasn't able to locate a file for the sun-java6-bin package. This might mean you need to manually fix this package. (due to missing arch)
then a blue dialog box appears with OK (Which is not clickable and pressing enter is not workin.)
EDIT
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo aptitude clean
sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude dist-upgrade
sudo aptitude install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin sun-java6-fonts
Tried this but still not working... same problem.

I'm having a Mac computer at work, and the internet connection is through HTTP proxy.
I want to install fink (or macports, doesn't really matter), to have all the useful utilities (like mc).
I've set the proxy during fink installation. It has successfully installed, but "fink selfupdate" cannot download using rsync (using cvs it fails too).
What can I do?
When you download linux drivers for devices such as wireless dongles, you'll get a folder full of random files that I'm assuming oyu need to compile? How do you install a wireless driver in linux?

I have an existing XP installation on a 160GB disk, with about 90 GB free.
I'm trying to install Win7 on the same HDD, following directions from here.
The question is: How long should it take to run the "shrink" command, given the above parameters? How much space will that free up for Win7?
Hi,
I have a machine behind a firewall to which I have only FTP and HTTP access - is there any remote desktop software available that I can install over FTP and access over HTTP (java based perhaps)?
The reason I'm asking is because ultraVNC stopped working for no reason and I need to access the PC (it has installed windows 7 with UAC disabled).
thanks

I want to install Python 2.6, but as it's still experimental for Debian Unix, I'm wondering what might best course of action is. Is the right idea to idea it into /usr/local for my system and then update the python sym link in /usr/bin to point to that version? Other considerations or ways to do it I should be thinking about?
I have to install cold fusion. I know nothing at all about it. I was, in fact, surprised it was still being used.

Can anyone point me in the direction even to get started? There is no open source version right?
Hi,

I am trying to install Java SDK for windows 7 (Ultimate version, 64bit), I downloaded the following file from oracle website: jdk-7u9-windowsx64.exe. When I try to execute it, I get an error that it is not a valid win 32 application. I think the JDK version is correct. Can somebody help me out? Also, comment if you need more info about my machine configuration to help me out.
Edit: I have 4 GB RAM on my system , Dell Latitude E4310
I have a CentOS box where I installed cvsnt ( 2.5.03 (Scorpio) Build 2382) but now I'm trying to access a server with the SSH protocol (:ssh:) and it tells me that " the :ssh: access method is not available on this system"
How can I install the support to ssh?
(following some tutorials I have the $CVS_RSH configured to point to ssh executable file)
I'm running XP and I've tried to install Windows 95 and 98 with the official CDs in Virtualbox. Both of them give the error:
FATAL: no bootable medium found! System Halted
I've mounted the CD drives within Virtualbox and also tried to change the boot order so that the CD drive is first but to no avail. I don't understand exactly what's going on here.
I used this file http://www.icewalkers.com/rpm/yum/fedora-core-6/download/yum-3603.html
all the links say file not found.
I can install yum with rpm -ivh *.rpm
I need to have yum in rpm
If you know please tell me installing yum and dependencies with rpm.
I'm a bit new to Technet and just trying to work my way round things.
Firstly I want to install Windows Server 2008 R2 as I believe this is the latest edition - however when I look to download it from Technet, it will only allow me to download the Windows Automated Installation Kit. Does this have Windows Server 2008 R2 embedded in WAIK or is there some other extra step to do? Or am I just doing this all wrong :)
