• How to get an X11 Window from a Process ID ?

  Under Linux, my C++ application is using fork() and execv() to launch multiple instances of OpenOffice so as to view some powerpoint slide shows. This part works. Next I want to be able to move the OpenOffice windows to specific locations on the display. I can do that with the XMoveResizeWindow() function but I need to find the Window for each instance. I have the process ID of each instance, how can I find the X11 Window from that ? UPDATE - Thanks to Andy's suggestion, I have pulled this off. I'm posting the code here to share it with the Stack Overflow community. • Synchronous communication using NSOperationQueue

  I am new to Objective C programming. I have created two threads called add and display using the NSInvocationOperation and added it on to the NSOperationQueue. I make the display thread to run first and then run the add thread. The display thread after printing the "Welcome to display" has to wait for the results to print from the add method. So i have set the waitUntilFinished method. Both the Operations are on the same queue. If i use waitUntilFinished for operations on the same queue there may be a situation for deadlock to happen(from apples developer documentation). Is it so? To wait for particular time interval there is a method called waitUntilDate: But if i need to like this wait(min(100,dmax)); let dmax = 20; How to do i wait for these conditions? It would be much helpful if anyone can explain with an example. • Python Ctypes Read/WriteProcessMemory() - Error 5/998 Help!

  Please don't get scared but the following code, if you are familiar with ctypes or C it should be easy to read. I have been trying to get my ReadProcessMemory() and WriteProcessMemory() functions to be working for so long and have tried almost every possibility but the right one. It launches the target program, returns its PID and handle just fine. But I always get a error code of 5 - ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED. When I run the read function(forget the write for now). I am launching this program as what I believe to be a CHILD process with PROCESS_ALL_ACCESS or CREATE_PRESERVE_CODE_AUTHZ_LEVEL. I have also tried PROCESS_ALL_ACCESS and PROCESS_VM_READ when I open the handle. I can also say that it is a valid memory location because I can find it on the running program with CheatEngine. As for VirtualQuery() I get an error code of 998 - ERROR_NOACCESS which further confirms my suspicion of it being some security/privilege problem. • Struggling with currency in Cocoa.

  I'm trying to do something I'd think would be fairly simple: Let a user input a dollar amount, store that amount in an NSNumber (NSDecimalNumber?), then display that amount formatted as currency again at some later time. My trouble is not so much with the setNumberStyle:NSNumberFormatterCurrencyStyle and displaying floats as currency. The trouble is more with how said numberFormatter works with this UITextField. I can find few examples. This thread from November and this one give me some ideas but leaves me with more questions. I am using the UIKeyboardTypeNumberPad keyboard and understand that I should probably show $0.00 (or whatever local currency format is) in the field upon display then as a user enters numerals to shift the decimal place along: Begin with display $0.00 Tap 2 key: display $0.02 Tap 5 key: display $0.25 Tap 4 key: display $2.54 Tap 3 key: display $25.43 Then [numberFormatter numberFromString:textField.text] should give me a value I can store in my NSNumber variable. Sadly I'm still struggling: Is this really the best/easiest way? If so then maybe someone can help me with the implementation? I feel UITextField may need a delegate responding to every keypress but not sure what, where and how to implement it?! Any sample code? I'd greatly appreciate it! I've searched high and low... Edit1: So I'm looking into NSFormatter's stringForObjectValue: and the closest thing I can find to what benzado recommends: UITextViewTextDidChangeNotification. Having really tough time finding sample code on either of them...so let me know if you know where to look?

• CSS text-decoration rule ignored

  I have found similar questions to mine but none of the suggestions seems to apply to my situation, so here goes... I have a webpage with a buch of images on them. Each image has a title which in markup is between h2 tags. The title is a link, so the resulting markup is like this: <ul class="imagelist"> <li> <a href=""><h2>Title 1</h2></a> <a href=""><img src="" /></a> </li> <li> Image 2, etc... </li> </ul> All I want is for the title links to not be underlined. I tried to address this like this: .imagelist li a h2 { color:#333; text-decoration:none; } It completely ignores the text-decoration rule, yet respects the color rule. From other questions I learned that this could be because a child element cannot overrule the text-decoration of any of its parents. So, I went looking for the parent elements to see if any explicit text-decoration rules are applied. I found none. This is driving me crazy, any help?   It's been a few months since I've touched Scheme and decided to implement a command line income partitioner using Scheme. My initial implementation used plain recursion over the continuation, but I figured a continuation would be more appropriate to this type of program. • Phonegap / jquery mobile slide transition not workign properly on first call

  I have an awkward visual glitch. I want nice transition when changing pages on the app. Unfortunately first time i change to another page, Instead of sliding current pagg out and new page in , current page is immediately replaces by the new page, then slides out... and when it's out of view it's the new page is shown... the second time around it works like a charm though !!!   Hello, I have a content area that loops through divs and shows there content. I'm having trouble making it display the initial content, unfortunately it waits 5000 milliseconds before triggering the very first content area to display. Anyone spot an easy way to make it display the initial area, then slide to the next area and do them at 5000 milliseconds. • Need to display my code in stack trace. I see only System... lines.

  Sometimes when I get an Exception while debugging in Visual Studio, all the code lines in the stack trace belong to the System.. name space. It doesn't display my line of code which was responsible for the exception. Is there a way to be make the stack trace show more lines or to ignore stack trace from the system namespace? Something like Just-My-Code for stack trace?

  I'm trying to split a dhcp scope between a existing domain controller TTP01 and the new DC TTP02 to provide failover. I'm using the the wizard in DHCP [my scope] Advanced Split-scope. In the final step I get an error saying: Migration of Scope Options on Added DHCP Server: Failed Error: 0x00004E4C - The class name being used is unknown or incorrect. I can't find anything that seems to be wrong with my Scope Options settings, they are: Option Name Vendor Value Class 003 Router Standard 192.168.137.1 None 006 DNS Server Standard 192.168.137.2 None 015 DNS Domain Name Standard ttp.local None 060 PXEClient Standard PXEClient None I can't find any information about this error except this msdn article when searching. How do make it work?

• Synergy Key Mapping

  I'm running a Synergy server on Ubuntu and a Synergy+ client on OSX. The server has a standard windows keyboard with shift, ctrl, windows, and alt keys. My MacBookPro has shift, fn, control, alt/option, and command keys. When I press ctrl-c, ctrl-v, etc, the appropriate copy/paste action doesn't happen on the Mac, but it does in Ubuntu. If I'm controlling the mac, and press alt-c, alt-v, then I get the copy/paste action. So I played around with key mapping in synergy.conf and found that the following allows me to do copy/paste with ctrl-c/ctrl-v: section: screens godzilla: mbp.local: ctrl = alt alt = ctrl end Is this all that I need to do? Or are there other mappings that will help as well? The synergy configuration page refers to the following key mappings. What are the equivalent keys for each of these on the Windows keyboard and Mac keyboard? • getting a pyserial not loaded error

  I'm getting a "pyserial not loaded" error with the python script fragment below (running OSX 10.7.4). I'm trying to run a python app called Myro for controlling the Parallax Scribbler2 robot - figured it would be a fun way to learn a bit of Python - but I'm not getting out of the gate here. I've searched out all the Myro help docs but like a lot in-progress open source programs, they are a moving target and conflicting, out of date, or not very specific about OSX. I have MacPorts installed and installed py27-serial without error. MacPorts lists the python versions I have installed, along with the active version: Available versions for python: none python24 python25 python25-apple python26 python26-apple python27 python27-apple (active) python32 Perhaps stuff is getting installed in the wrong places or my PATH is wrong (I don't much know what I am doing in Terminal and have probably screwed something up). • Error when reloading supervisord: unix:///tmp/supervisor.sock no such file

  I'm running supervisord on my CentOS 6 box like so, /usr/bin/supervisord -c /etc/supervisord.conf and when I launch supervisorctl all process status are fine, but if I try to reload using supervisorctl I get unix:///tmp/supervisor.sock no such file I'm using the same config file I've used successfully on other boxes, and im running everything as root. • Apache2 Virtual Host with ScriptAlias returning 403

  I am trying to reference my libs directory which is a sibling directory to my DocumentRoot. I am using the following ScriptAlias to try to accomplish this.
