• What is the new line marker in an uploaded Word doc?

  I am attempting to uplaod a Word doc and then write it line by line in HTML. I made a referecne to the Microsoft Word Object Library. Then I use the following code to grab the and put it in a string variable. However, I have tried multiple regex statements to replace the new line character with "" but nothing I have tried has worked... • How do I write a custom validator for a zend form element with customized error messages?

  I have a question field with a list of allowed characters : A-Z,0-9,colon (:), question mark (?), comma(,), hyphen(-), apostrophe ('). I have the regex which works fine, in the fashion : $question->addValidator('regex', true, array(<regular expresstion>)) The default error message is something like ''' does not match against pattern '' I want to write a custom error message that says ' is not allowed in this field' Is there a simple way to do it using the existing zend components that I'm missing? Is writing a custom validator the only way to achieve what I'm trying to achieve? If yes, how do I write a custom validator (I looked at the documentation and didn't quite understand how I can customize the error messages) If there is any other way, I'd most appreciate that input too.   I'm trying to submit a form on an .asp page but Mechanize does not recognize the name of the control. The form code is: <form id="form1" name="frmSearchQuick" method="post"> .... <input type="button" name="btSearchTop" value="SEARCH" class="buttonctl" onClick="uf_Browse('dledir_search_quick.asp');" > My code is as follows: br = mechanize.Browser() br.open(BASE_URL) br.select_form(name='frmSearchQuick') resp = br.click(name='btSearchTop') I've also tried the last line as: resp = br.submit(name='btSearchTop') The error I get is: raise ControlNotFoundError("no control matching "+description) ControlNotFoundError: no control matching name 'btSearchTop', kind 'clickable' If I print br I get this: IgnoreControl(btSearchTop=) But I don't see that anywhere in the HTML. Any advice on how to submit this form?

I have a question probably lame but it made me stuck I have the a db query $query_Recordset10 = "SELECT * FROM products WHERE razdel='mix' AND ID='$ID+1' AND litraj='$litri' ORDER BY ID ASC"; $Recordset10 = mysql_query($query_Recordset10, $victor) or die(mysql_error()); $row_Recordset10 = mysql_fetch_array($Recordset10); $totalRows_Recordset10 = mysql_num_rows($Recordset10); This is the query for the next product in the line based in the ID of the current product thats on the page. But if the next product matching the criteria in the query is 2 or more ID's ahead my cycle breaks. So is there a way for skipping this rows and get the next ID matching the criteria. This works great unless there are nulls in the dataset. I tried to compensate for the nulls, but the RDLC file generates an error message that it can't display the subreport. (I'm guessing from my brief glance around the web that the answer is NO, but no harm asking)

  I have two models: class Employee < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :projects end class Project < ActiveRecord::Base acts_as_taggable_on :skills, :roles end I would like to find Employees using the tags associated with their projects. The geokit-rails plugin supports a similar concept, using its ':through' relationship. Ideally, I would be able to: specify which tags (i.e. skills, roles) would be included in the conditions order the employees by the total number of projects with matching tags be able to access the matching-tag count for each employee for the purposes of building a tag cloud Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Here's the low-down: I'm new to git. I just set up an account with github and I followed all their instructions flawlessly until I got to the last command of git push origin master Upon entering this command, I get the error message "fatal: No path specified. See 'man git-pull' for valid url syntax." If I type in git origin show the output I see is origin. If I type in git remote -n show the output is * remote origin URL: [email protected]: HEAD branch: (not queried) Local ref configured for 'git push' (status not queried): (matching) pushes to (matching) Please help me get to the bottom of this.

• Globbing with MinGW on Windows

  I have an application built with the MinGW C++ compiler that works something like grep - acommand looks something like this: myapp -e '.*' *.txt where the thing that comes after the -e switch is a regex, and the thing after that is file name pattern. It seems that MinGW automatically expands (globs in UNIX terms) the command line so my regex gets mangled. I can turn this behaviour off, I discovered, by setting the global variable _CRT_glob to zero. This will be fine for bash and other sensible shell users, as the shell will expand the file pattern. For MS cmd.exe users however, it looks like I will have to expand the file pattern myself. So my question - does anyone know of a globbing library (or facility in MinGW) to do partial command line expansion? I'm aware of the _setargv feature of the Windows CRT, but that expands the full command line. Please note I've seen this question, but it really does not address partial expansion.

• How to evaluate a custom math expression in Python

  I'm writing a custom dice rolling parser (snicker if you must) in python. Basically, I want to use standard math evaluation but add the 'd' operator: #xdy sum = 0 for each in range(x): sum += randInt(1, y) return sum So that, for example, 1d6+2d6+2d6-72+4d100 = (5)+(1+1)+(6+2)-72+(5+39+38+59) = 84 I was using regex to replace all 'd's with the sum and then using eval, but my regex fell apart when dealing with parentheses on either side. Is there a faster way to go about this than implementing my own recursive parsing? Perhaps adding an operator to eval?

• How to do a range query

  I have a bunch of numbers timestamps that I want to check against a range to see if they match a particular range of dates. Basically like a BETWEEN .. AND .. match in SQL. The obvious data structure would be a B-tree, but while there are a number of B-tree implementations on CPAN, they only seem to implement exact matching. Berkeley DB has the same problem; there are B-tree indices, but no range matching. What would be the simplest way to do this? I don't want to use an SQL database unless I have to. Clarification: I have a lot of these, so I'm looking for an efficient method, not just grep over an array.

Based on what criteria does a query/subquery return a NULL and when doesn’t it return any results, not even a NULL value? b) I assume a scalar subquery will always return NULL, when no matching rows are found? I assume most-outer scalar query also returns NULL if no rows are found? c) SELECT FirstName, LastName, YEAR(BirthDate) FROM Persons WHERE YEAR(BirthDate) IN (SELECT YearReleased FROM Albums); If subquery finds no results, is then a WHERE clause of an outer query translated into WHERE YEAR(BirthDate) IN (null); ? If instead WHERE clause is translated into WHERE YEAR(BirthDate) IN(); then shouldn’t that be an error condition, since how can YEAR(BirthDate) value be compared to nothing? thanx

When I click a button, I need to check the label, versus all the list items to find the matching one, when it finds that I need to assign the corresponding number.   In JavaScript: encodeURIComponent("©v") == "%C2%A9%E2%88%9A" Is there an equivalent for C# applications? For escaping HTML characters I used: txtOut.Text = Regex.Replace(txtIn.Text, @"[\u0080-\uFFFF]", m => @"&#" + ((int)m.Value[0]).ToString() + ";"); But I'm not sure how to convert the match to the correct hexadecimal format that JS uses. For example this code: txtOut.Text = Regex.Replace(txtIn.Text, @"[\u0080-\uFFFF]", m => @"%" + String.Format("{0:x}", ((int)m.Value[0]))); Returns "%a9%221a" for "©v" instead of "%C2%A9%E2%88%9A". It looks like I need to split the string up into bytes or something. Edit: This is for a windows app, the only items available in System.Web are: AspNetHostingPermission, AspNetHostingPermissionAttribute, and AspNetHostingPermissionLevel.

• C#: Efficiently search a large string for occurences of other strings

  Hi, I'm using C# to continuously search for multiple string "keywords" within large strings, which are = 4kb. This code is constantly looping, and sleeps aren't cutting down CPU usage enough while maintaining a reasonable speed. The bog-down is the keyword matching method. I've found a few possibilities, and all of them give similar efficiency. 1) http://tomasp.net/articles/ahocorasick.aspx -I do not have enough keywords for this to be the most efficient algorithm. 2) Regex. Using an instance level, compiled regex. -Provides more functionality than I require, and not quite enough efficiency. 3) String.IndexOf. -I would need to do a "smart" version of this for it provide enough efficiency. Looping through each keyword and calling IndexOf doesn't cut it. Does anyone know of any algorithms or methods that I can use to attain my goal?
