• Settings.bundle Not Appearing on Application Updates

  I have an app that does not currently use a Setting.bundle to display setting in the iPhone Settings app. I am releasing an update that does. On a fresh install, the settings are added to the Setting App as expected, but upon updating from the old install, the bundle is not added. Is there some sort of trick to get the Settings App to show my Settings.bundle?

  Hi, I have problem in declaring the intents on my app. I have a form with text fields and spinner. I have added a button which onClick must display Datepicker. I have declared the DatePicker as a new class and added to intent onCLick. date.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View view) { Intent i=new Intent(SendMail.this,DatePicker.class); startActivity(i); } }); In manifest i have declared <activity android:name=".DatePicker"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> Now the problem is when i click the button the whole form is getting reset and all the spinner values are getting vanished. This must be because of declaring the intent wrongly. So, can anyone specify how to declare my intent so that the DatePicker will be called on the main form iteself

• IPhone XCode programming: view called from a navigation view doesn't set its IBOutlet attributes

  I created a view Called ProgrammaView that appears when a row of a table is clicked. This view has a UILabel, a UIImageView and a UITextView. Now. ProgrammaView's Outlets have to be changed by the parameter passed to a method of the view called iniz. in this image there is first the ProgrammaView.h and then the method iniz. The problem is that the label and other stuff doesn't change! I checked 3 million times that everything between the xib file and the controller is linked. The trick to call iniz in the other viewcontrollers works well in other part of the program so i think is not that the problem. Thank you in advance!

  I have a pretty simple UIScrollView defined inside Interface Builder. I've pasted in some UILabels and when I run my app, I can drag to see the UILabels at the bottom but as soon as I let go it bounces away from view. What property controls this sort of setting?

  Hi, I have a layout with an ImageView defined like: <ImageView android:layout_width="45dip" android:layout_height="45dip" android:scaleType="fitXY" /> now I just want to set the imageview to be a static color, like red or green. I'm trying: ColorDrawable cd = new ColorDrawable("FF0000"); cd.setAlpha(255); ImageView iv = ...; iv.setImageDrawable(cd); the imageview is just empty though, no color. The 45dip space is being used up though. What do I need to do to get the color to be rendered? Thanks

• Cloud Agnostic Architecture?

  Hi, I'm doing some architecture work on a new solution which will initially run in Windows Azure. However I'd like the solution (or at least the architecture/design) to be Cloud Agnostic (to whatever extent is realistic). Has anyone done any work on this front or seen any good white papers/blog posts? Our highlevel architecture will consist of a payload being sent to a web service (WCF for instance), this will be dumped on a queue (for arguments sake) and a worker process will grab messages off this queue and proccess them. There will be a database of customer information which we'd ideally like to keep out of the cloud however there are obvious performance considerations. Keen to hear other's thoughts. Cheers Dave

• Cannot run an executable binary file on another Linux System??

  I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 and Qt4.6, and I've created an executable binary file on my own computer through QtCreator. Now I want to put my executable file on CentOS 5, but it seems that this executable file cannot run on CentOS. Do I need to set some compile parameters to make it runnable on Linux other than Ubuntu?? Or do I need to put some lib files with the executable binary file? (For windows, the .exe file should put together with some .dll files to provide the correct dynamic lib linkage, is there some similar problem on linux?) Thanks for your help!

• Google Drive Update keeps throwing an error when I try to save a thumbnail

  The Base64 string checks out fine. I was able to export it to another website and download it again as my image. When I try to do an update using the Drive Javascript api, it just keeps returning this error: Invalidvaluefor:Notavalidbase64bytestring I also true making the string URL safe. Per this page https://google-api-client-libraries.appspot.com/documentation/drive/v2/python/latest/drive_v2.files.html Am I doing something wrong here, the documentation says send Base64, the string is valid and, the string is intact throughout the process, but Google will not accept it? I am using the javascript api, I think there is maybe a bug sending the thumbnail using the javascript api.   I'm using the following code to submit to a WCF service. I keep getting an error that the key is invalid. I have a webpage on the same server that I submit the same data (but different key) using a FORM POST. It works fine that way. I put the URL below all in a URL (including valid key from server webpage) and get the key is invalid error.   I am using this method - (void)keyboardWillShow:(NSNotification *)notification that is triggered when the keyboard shows. When this method is triggered, it receives a notification that contains several parameters about the keyboard, as the animation duration, animation curve and frame. I need to forward this notification and all its parameters to another class. So, I've tried to do this inside keyboardWillShow: [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] postNotificationName:@"doSomething" object:notification userInfo:nil]; the doSomething notification runs doSomething method on another class, and it has this form: - (void) doSomething:(NSNotification *)notification { but when I try to read the notification values on this other class, using, for example, myRect = [[[notification userInfo] objectForKey:UIKeyboardFrameEndUserInfoKey] CGRectValue]; I obtain zero for all values. • Obtaining touch location for a uiscrollview touch

  I have a uiscrollview as an element of a uiscrollviewcontroller, along with other view objects. The image scrolls and zooms as expected, when the scrollView is the top subview. However, I also need to get the screen location of the touch, in particular when there is no scroll action. (I understand the location may change during a scroll, but that's not important.) I haven't found a way to do that. In the scrollviewcontroller implementation I have customized all of the standard methods that should do this: "touchesShouldBegin...", "touchesBegan:...", "touchesEnded:...", and so on. As far as I can tell, none of these are being called during a touch event when the scrollView is the top subview. I've tried setting the delayContentTouches property to both YES and NO, and that doesn't seem to make a difference. As an alternative, I've tried putting a UIView as the top subview and then tried passing the touches to the now underlying scrollView. In this configuration, the standard methods are called and I can get the touch location, but I haven't found a mechanism for the touches to be passed to the scrollView so scrolling occurs. Doing something like sending the touch messages to the specific scrollView, or to "super" or just sending them to nextResponder doesn't do it. It seems I can make the scroll work or find the location of the touch but not both, depending on what the "top" subview is. I suspect this is trivial, but after two weeks of struggling, it's time to eat my embarrassment for not being able to do this seemingly simplest of things. I've read all of the related questions here on stackoverflow, tried most if not all of the suggestions, and so far, nothing has worked. I've looked through the various links and references suggested by the answers, including Apple's documentation, but none have pointed out the gap in my understanding. Any ideas would be appreciated.

• saving iPhone program state with a deep UINavigationController

  Can someone a good way to save the program state (UINavigationController stack, etc) of an iPhone application. My application obtains a bunch of information from the network and I want to return the person back to the last screen they were on, even if it was 3 or 4 screens deep. I assume that I will need to reload the data from the network along the way as I recreate the UINavigation controllers. I don't necessarily have a problem with this. I'm thinking about maybe having my UINavigationController objects implement some type of protocol which allow me to save/set their state? I'm looking to hear from others who may have needed to implement a similar scenario and how they accomplished it. My application has a UITabbarController at the root and UINavigationController items for each tab bar item. thanks!
