• How to refresh jQuery Selector Value after an execution?

  Hi, I have like this. $(document).ready(function() { var $clickable_pieces = $('.chess_piece').parent(); $($clickable_pieces).addClass('selectee'); // add selectee class var $selectee = $('.chess_square.selectee'); // wait for click $($selectee).bind('click',function(){ $('.chess_square.selected').removeClass('selected'); $(this).addClass('selected'); { ........... } }); I initially inject 'selectee' class to all div which has 'chess_piece' class then I select DIVs with that class $('.chess_square.selectee'). <div id="clickable"> <div id="div1" class="chess_square"> </div> <div id="div2" class="chess_square selectee"> <div id="sub1" class="chess_piece queen"></div> </div> <div id="div3" class="chess_square"> </div> </div> There are two type of DIV element with class named 'chess_square selectee' and 'chess_square' which doesn't meant to be clickable. I move around Sub DIV of 'rps_square selectee' from DIV2 to DIV1 and add and remove classes to be exactly same like this. The meaning is Queen Piece is moved from Div2 to Div1. <div id="div1" class="chess_square selectee"> <div id="sub1" class="chess_piece queen"></div> </div> <div id="div2" class="chess_square"> </div> <div id="div3" class="chess_square"> </div> However, the problem is jQuery doesn't update var $selectee = $('.rps_square.selectee');. Even though I changed class names, DIV1 is not clickable and DIV2 is still clickable. By the way, I've used jQuery UI selectable but doesn't refresh either.

• qTip pop ups come in from top left of screen (on first load)

  Hi, not sure if i'm set things up incorrectly - I don't seem to see anyone else with this problem, but my qTip popups (all ajax loaded content) are loading quite erratically, in that they are often animating in from off screen before appearing in the correct position. Is there a simple solution to this which I may have missed? Thanks again for your help. • DataGridView update datasource directly after changed Checkbox value

  I have a System.Windows.Forms DataGridView that is bound to a List<MyObject>. The class MyObject contains a boolean property that is bound to DataGridViewCheckboxCell within the DataGridView. public class MyObject { public decimal DefaultValue {get; set; } public bool HasCustomValue {get;set; } public decimal CustomValue {get;set; } public decimal CurrentValue { get { return HasCustomValue ? CustomValue : DefaultValue; } } If I change the value of HasCustomValue another (readonly) property CurrentValue changes it's value, too. That is done by implementing the INotifyPropertyChanged event (I left that part in the source example for simplicity) If I changed HasCustomValue from outside the DataGridView, the column bound to CurrentValue gets updated immediately. Howevery, If the users enables/disables the checkbox, HasCustomValue is not changed in the underlying datasource unless he leaves the column by clicking with the mouse or pressing the TAB key. Is there a way to force the grid to update the datasource directly after changing a checkbox value? If I bind a Control Property I have the ability to set the DataSourceUpdateMode to Windows.Forms.DataSourceUpdateMode.OnPropertyChanged but I haven't found anything like that in a DataGridView

  I'm playing around with WPF Binding and variables. Apparently one can only bind DependencyProperties. And the Button sets them to "AAA". But now I replaced the Setter function with the one that is commented out (simulating some manipulation of the given value). I would expect that whenever the property value is changed it will be reset to "BBB". It does so when you press the button, that is when you set the property in code. But it does for some reason not affect the WPF Bindings, that is you can change the TextBox contents and thus the property, but apparently the Setter is never called. I wonder why that is so, and how one would go about to achive the expected behaviour.

• WPF binding to a boolean on a control

  I'm wondering if someone has a simple succinct solution to binding to a dependency property that needs to be the converse of the property. Here's an example I have a textbox that is disabled based on a property in the datacontext e.g.: <TextBox IsEnabled={Binding CanEdit} Text={Binding MyText}/> The requirement changes and I want to make it ReadOnly instead of disabled, so without changing my ViewModel I could do this: In the UserControl resources: <UserControl.Resources> <m:NotConverter x:Key="NotConverter"/> </UserControl.Resources> And then change the TextBox to: <TextBox IsReadOnly={Binding CanEdit,Converter={StaticResource NotConverter}} Text={Binding MyText}/> Which I personally think is EXTREMELY verbose I would love to be able to just do this(notice the !): <TextBox IsReadOnly={Binding !CanEdit} Text={Binding MyText}/> But alas, that is not an option that I know of. I can think of two options. Create an attached property IsNotReadOnly to FrameworkElement(?) and bind to that property If I change my ViewModel then I could add a property CanEdit and another CannotEdit which I would be kind of embarrassed of because I believe it adds an irrelevant property to a class, which I don't think is a good practice. The main reason for the question is that in my project the above isn't just for one control, so trying to keep my project as DRY as possible and readable I am throwing this out to anyone feeling my pain and has come up with a solution :)

  I'm designing some VB based ASP.NET 2.0, and I am trying to make more use of the various ASP tags that visual studio provides, rather than hand writing everything in the code-behind. Am I declaring the variable wrong in the query? I thought external variables share the same name with a @ prefixed. from what I understand, this should be placing the value I want into the query when it executes the select. EDIT: Okay, thanks for the advice so far, first error was corrected, I need to use : and not @ for the variable declaration in the query. Now it generates an ORA-01745 invalid host/bind variable name. EDIT AGAIN: Okay, looks like user was a reserved word. It works now! Thanks for other points of view on this one. I hadn't thought of that approach.

  Hi all, I'm using Wysihat in a rails project and am stumped by it's inability to bind to my textarea named post_description (model name Post field name description). The following in the source of the posts/new HTML: <div id="post_description_editor" class="editor" contenteditable="true"></div> <textarea cols="40" id="post_description" name="post[description]" rows="20" style="display: none; "></textarea> However, when I type something in the description field and click submit the post validation fails saying the description field is empty.   I have a socket server that I am trying to move over to SSL on python 2.5, but I've run into a snag with pyOpenSSL. I can't find any good tutorials on using it, so I'm operating largely on guesses. The problem is, once the send/receive loop starts, it dies right away, before anything has been sent or received (that I can see anyway): Traceback (most recent call last): File "ClientGen.py", line 50, in networkLoop n_bytes = sock.send(self.message WantReadError The manual's description of the 'WantReadError' is very vague, saying it can come from just about anywhere. What am I doing wrong?

But I need a ListView or other ItemsControl to bind to it in XAML file like this: But I can't figure it out how to pass the ObservableCollection to the ItemsSource of that control. I tried to create a class and then create an instance of a class in xaml file but it did not work. Should I create a static resource somehow Any help will be greatly appreciated.

• Calling private constructors with Reflection.Emit?

  I'm trying to emit the following IL: LocalBuilder pointer = il.DeclareLocal(typeof(IntPtr)); il.Emit(OpCodes.Ldarg_0); il.Emit(OpCodes.Stloc, pointer); il.Emit(OpCodes.Ldloca, pointer); il.Emit(OpCodes.Call, typeof(IntPtr).GetMethod("ToPointer")); il.Emit(OpCodes.Ret); The delegate I bind with has the signature void* TestDelegate(IntPtr ptr) It throws the exception Operation could destabilize the runtime. Anyone knows what's wrong? EDIT: Alright, so I got the IL working now. The entire goal of this was to be able to call a private constructor. The private constructor takes a pointer so I can't use normal reflection. Now.. When I call it, I get an exception saying Attempt by method <built method> to access method <private constructor> failed. Apparently it's performing security checks - but from experience I know that Reflection is able to do private stuff like this normally, so hopefully there is a way to disable that check?

  Hi there, I am trying to bind a Listbox ItemSource to a collection of multiple Lists. i.e. List PersonCollection List Person List Collection Now I need to show items from both of these list. In wpf you could use HierarchicalDataTemplate i believe, but not sure how I can do it in windows phone 7. Tried with Blend and it generates the following data template. <DataTemplate x:Key="PersonDataTemplate"> <Grid> <StackPanel Margin="0,0,1,0" Orientation="Vertical" VerticalAlignment="Top"> <TextBlock Margin="0,0,1,0" TextWrapping="Wrap" Text="{Binding Person[0].Name}" d:LayoutOverrides="Width"/> <TextBlock Margin="0,0,1,0" TextWrapping="Wrap" Text="{Binding Collection[0].Total}" d:LayoutOverrides="Width"/> </StackPanel> </Grid> </DataTemplate> Is there another way I can do this? I have tried to set the DataContext of Textbox in DataTemplate to individual arrays but did not seem to work. Cant find anything similar on the net apart from the confirmation that HierarchicalDataTemplate is not supported in Windows Phone 7. I have other ways to do but none elegant.. Thanks in advance. • C++ socket protocol design issue (ring inclusion)

  So I have these two classes, mpqs_client and client_protocol. The mpqs_client class handles a Boost socket connection to a server (sending and receiving messages with some specific format. Upon receiving a message, it calls a static method, parse_message(..), in the class client_protocol, and this method should analyse the message received and perform some corresponding action. Given some specific input, the parse_message method needs to send some data back to the server. As mentioned, this happens through the class mpqs_client. So I could, from mpqs_client, pass "this" to parse_message(..) in client_protocol. However, this leads to a two-way association relationship between the two classes. Something which I reckon is not desireable. Also, to implement this, I would need to include the other in each one, and this gives me a terrible pain. I am thinking this is more of a design issue. What is the best solution here? Code is posted below. Changing the quantities this way this doesn't actually change the order itself, they have to press confirm and therefore committing a positive action to change the order. However if they have changed the quantities and navigate away from the page I would like to warn them they are doing so in case this is an accident, as the changed quantities will be lost if they navigate away or refresh the page. In the code above I am using a global variable which will be false by default (its only true for testing), when a quantity is changed I will update this variable to be true, and when they confirm the changes I will set it to false. If warning is true and the page is unloaded, I offer them a confirmation box, if they say no they would like to stay on this page I need to stop it from unloading. return false isn't working, it still lets the user navigate away (the alerts are there for debugging only) Any ideas?

• Displaying a collection of objects in a .Net grid on a smartphone without data binding.

  I know there's No DataGridView in the CF, but I've got a collection of in-memory objects that I want to display in a grid on a phone. Options I have thought of: Stick all the objects into a SQL-CE database and use a bound datagrid. This'll mean pulling my classes apart and separating the data from the functionality, which may or may not be a bad thing, but seems a little overkill. Write my own dataset and binding code so that I can bind my collection of objects to a bound datagrid. No idea how practical or possible this is, but seems like it's either do-able or impossible and I'm hoping someone here knows which! Find a third-party unbound grid control. The only one I've seen mentioned is OpenNetCF, which I'm downloading as I type. Are there others? Are any of them any good? Do something very nasty with dynamically loading labels and textboxes into a scrolling region on the form. REALLY don't want to go there. I'm not much experienced with data-bound controls other than occasionally making use of the very vanilla functionality in WinForms or ASP.Net, and that quite a long time ago, so if any of the above are silly, please be gentle. • Removing the port number from URL

  I'm new to anything related to servers and am trying to deploy a django application. Today I bought a domain name for the app and am having trouble configuring it so that the base URL does not need the port number at the end of it. I have to type www.trackthecharts.com:8001 to see the website when I only want to use www.trackethecharts.com.   Solution Guys... FYI i am using xampp to use phpmyadmin. and this error happens during the process of creating a database on localhost. • JQuery Delegate and using traveral options in function

  I am having trouble figuring out how to use the JQuery delegate function to do what I require. Basically, I need to allow users to add Panels (i.e. divs) to a form dynamically by selecting a button. Then when a user clicks a button within a given Panel, I want to be able to to something to that Panel (like change the color in this example). Unfortunately, it seems that references to the JQuery traversing functions don't work in this instance. Can anybody explain how to achieve this effect?   Pretty new to jQuery, so I'm hoping someone can help me out... There's a couple of things going on here... Help with any part of it is appreciated. For starters, I'm trying to append a row to a table when a user clicks in the first enabled input field for that row. • NotApplicable marker with display pattern

  Ok, so I'm pretty new to Cocoa, especially Bindings, but here's what I'm trying to do. I've got a Core Data model consisting of two entities: Category and Item. Category has a to-many relationship to Item called children, and Item has a relationship to Category called parent. Item has two attributes that Category does not have: quantity and desiredQuantity. What I'd like to do is display the tree in an NSOutlineView with two columns. One column is bound to the name of either the Category or the Item. I want to the second column to display something along the lines of 2 of 5 for the Item rows and nothing at all for the Category rows. When I use a display pattern, the Category rows end up showing of I noticed that if I don't use a display pattern for the second column, and instead just bind its Value to either the quantity or the desiredQuantity, the Category rows show nothing; its only if I try to use the display pattern. How can I make it display nothing for the Category rows and still use the display pattern? Or can I? Edit: I guess I didn't explain what the NotApplicable marker has to do with anything - Category does have properties for quantity and desiredQuantity, but they just return NSNotApplicableMarker.

• Boost::Thread linking error on OSX?

  So I'm going nuts trying to figure this one out. Here's my basic setup: I'm compiling a shared library with a bunch of core functionality that uses a lot of boost stuff. We'll call this library libpf_core.so. It's linked with the boost static libraries, specifically the python, system, filesystem, thread, and program_options libraries. This all goes swimmingly. Now, I have a little test program called test_socketio which is compiled into a shared library (it's loaded as a plugin at runtime). It uses some boost stuff like boost::bind and boost::thread, and it's linked again libpf_core.so (which has the boost libraries included remember). When I go to compile test_socketio though, out of all my plugins it gives me a linking error: [ Building test_socketio ] g++ -c -pg -g -O0 -I/usr/local/include -I../include test_socketio.cc -o test_socketio.o g++ -shared test_socketio.o -lpy_core -o test_socketio.so Undefined symbols: "boost::lock_error::lock_error()", referenced from: boost::unique_lock<boost::mutex>::lock() in test_socketio.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status And I'm going crazy trying to figure out why this is. I've tried explicitly linking boost::thread into the plugin to no avail, tried ensuring that I'm using the boost headers associated with the libraries linked into libpf_core.so in case there was a conflict there. Is there something OSX specific regarding boost that I'm missing? In my searching on google I've seen a number of other people get this error but no one seems to have come up with a satisfactory solution.

• C#: Using one Data Table in order to fill 2 different comboboxes?

  Hi all. I have 2 comboboxes on a form (form1) called combobox1 and combobox2. Each comboboxes should be filled with data stored in 2 different tables in Sql server 2005: table1 and table2 I mean: combobox1 -- table1 combobox2 -- table2 I fill data table with proper data and then bind the comboboxes to it separately. My problem is: after filling 2 combos, both of them have equal data got from table2. This is my code: DataTable tb1 = new DataTable(); //Filling tb1 with data got from table1 combobox1.Items.Clear(); combobox1.DataSource = tb1; combobox1.DisplayMember = "Name"; combobox1.ValueMember = "ID"; combobox1.SelectedIndex = -1; //filling tb1 with data got from table2 combobox2.Items.Clear(); combobox2.DataSource = tb1; combobox2.DisplayMember = "Name"; combobox2.ValueMember = "ID"; combobox2.SelectedIndex = -1; What's wrong?
