• JMenuBar dropping down to a "custom" JPanel and "erased"

  The JMenuItems of JMenuBar drops down to a JPanel added to the JFrame, but the JPanel erases the JMenuItems. Do I supposed to pause the re-drawing of the JPanel? I'm using getGraphics() on the JPanel for drawing an image, this method is called from a thread with (for example) 200 ms delay. edit: It's a (very simple) game inside the JPanel. (I've added a field "paused" to the JPanel and i've edited the paint method so it repaints the JPanel only if paused is false, however I don't know if this "solution" is good. (It's set to true when the user clicks on a menu and set to false when selects or cancels it.)

  I have had some problems with authentication in ASP.NET. I'm not used most of the built in authentication in .NET. I gotten some complaints from users using Internet Explorer (any version - may affect other browsers as well) that the login process proceeds but when redirected they aren't authenticated and are bounced back to loginpage (pages that require authentication check if logged in and if not redirect back to loginpage). Can this be a cookie problem? Do I need to check if cookies are enabled by the user? What's the best way to build authentication if you have a custom member table and don't want to use ASP.NET login controls?   I can't seem to capture the scroll event on an iPad. None of these work, what I am doing wrong? window.onscroll=myFunction; document.onscroll=myFunction; window.attachEvent("scroll",myFunction,false); document.attachEvent("scroll",myFunction,false); They all work even on Safari 3 on Windows. Ironically, EVERY browser on the PC supports window.onload= if you don't mind clobbering existing events. But no go on iPad.

• is_tarfile() returns True for a blank file

  Hello all, I am testing some logic to handle a user uploading a TAR file. When I feed a blank file to tarfile.is_tarfile() it returns True, which is not what I am expecting: $ touch tartest $ cat tartest $ python -c "import tarfile; print tarfile.is_tarfile('tartest')" True If I add some text to the file, it returns False, which I am expecting: $ echo "not a tar" > tartest $ python -c "import tarfile; print tarfile.is_tarfile('tartest')" False I could add a check at the beginning to check for a zero-length file, but based on the documentation for tarfile.is_tarfile(name) I think this is unecessary: Return True if name is a tar archive file, that the tarfile module can read. I went so far as to check the source, tarfile.py, and I can see that it is checking header blocks but I do not fully understand how it is evaluating those blocks. Am I misreading the documentation and therefore setting unfair expectations? Thank you, Zachary

• Unable to display data in a WPF datagrid that has a DataView instance as the items source

  I am using a DataGrid object from the WPF toolkit. I am binding the DataGrid object to the default view of a DataTable instance as declared in the following code: WeatherGrid.ItemsSource = weatherDataTable.DefaultView; weatherDataTable has three columns. The first column is defined to contain a string data type. The other two columns are defined to contain double data types. When the application exits the function that calls the binding as expressed in the declaration, The DataGrid object displays data for the first column, but not the other columns. When I type the following in the immediate window in the debugger: ((DataRowView)WeatherGrid.Items[0]).Row[1] I get a number, but this doesn't correspond with what is being displayed. Why is only the first column visible, and how can I get all of the data to be visible?   Hello, I just cannot for the life of me get my nant build file to terminate upon a test failure and return (thus preventing the packaging and artifact step from running) This is the unit part of the nant file: <target name="unittest" depends="build"> <nunit2 verbose="true" haltonfailure="false" failonerror="true" failonfailureatend="true"> <formatter type="Xml" /> <test assemblyname="Code\AppMonApiTests\bin\Release\AppMonApiTests.dll" /> </nunit2> </target> And regardless what combination of true/false i set the haltonfailure, failonerror, failonfailureatend properties to, the result is always this: [11:15:09]: Some tests has failed in C:\Build\TeamCity\buildAgent\work\ba5b94566a814a34\Code\AppMonApiTests\bin\Release\AppMonApiTests.dll, tests run terminated. [11:15:09]: NUnit Launcher exited with code: 1 [11:15:09]: Exit code 0 will be returned.1 Please help as i don't want to be publishing binarys where the unit tests have failed!!! • Hiding Row in DataGridView Very Slow

  I have a DataGridView in a Winforms app that has about 1000 rows (unbound) and 50 columns. Hiding a column takes a full 2 seconds. When I want to hide about half the rows, this becomes a problem. private void ShowRows(string match) { this.SuspendLayout(); foreach (DataGridViewRow row in uxMainList.Rows) { if (match == row.Cells["thisColumn"].Value.ToString())) { row.Visible = false; } else { row.Visible = true; } } this.ResumeLayout(); } I did some testing by adding by addingConsole.WriteLine(DateTime.Now)around the actions, androw.Visible = falseis definitely the slow bit. Am I missing something obvious, like setting IsReallySlow = false? Or do I have to go ahead and enable Virtual Mode and code up the necessary events?

• ExtJS combo setting problem

  Hi I run into an interesting problem while was using combos in input form. My form contains combos that get data from json stores. It works fine when adding new record, but when the form is opened for editing an existing record, sometimes the id appears as selected not its value (eg: there's 5 instead of "apple"). I think it tries to set the value before it finishes loading the combo. Is there a way to solve this?
