  I have got myself stuck into a really amazing issue here.The code is like as below. class A { public: A(){ m_event = CreateEvent(NULL, false, false, NULL); // create an event with initial value as non-signalled m_thread = _beginthread(StaticThreadEntry, 0, this); // create a thread } static void StaticThreadEntry(A * obj) { obj->ThreadEntry(); } void ThreadEntry(); }; void A::ThreadEntry() { WaitforSingleObject(m_event,INFINITE); } int main() { A a; SetEvent(m_event); // sets the event to signalled state which causes the running thread to terminate WaitForSingleObject(m_thread, INFINITE); // waits for the thread to terminate return 0; } Problem : When the above code is run,sometimes( 1 out of 5 ) it hangs and the control gets stuck in the call to WaitforSingleObject()( inside the main function ).The code always calls SetEvent() function to ensure that the thread would terminate before calling Wait() function. I do not see any reason why it should ever hang?

• Seam cache provider with ehcache null

  Hi every one, I'm trying to configure seam/ehcache following the tutorial from jboss page: http://docs.jboss.org/seam/2.1.2/reference/en-US/html/cache.html I put the ehcache.1.2.3.jar in project.ear/lib and injected CacheProvider as especified, but the CacheProvider always return null. The documentation doesn't show any aditional configuration for ehcache, just for jboss cache. • jquery ajax post callback - manipulation stops after the "third" call

  EDIT: The problem is not related to Boxy, I've run into the same issue when I've used JQuery 's load method. EDIT 2: When I take out link.remove() from inside the ajax callback and place it before ajax load, the problem is no more. Are there restrictions for manipulating elements inside an ajax callback function. I am using JQuery with Boxy plugin. When the 'Flag' link on the page is clicked, a Boxy modal pops-up and loads a form via ajax. When the user submits the form, the link (<a> tag) is removed and a new one is created from the ajax response. This mechanism works for, well, 3 times! After the 3rd, the callback function just does not remove/replace/append (tested several variations of manipulation) the element. The only hint I have is that after the 3rd call, the parent of the link becomes non-selectable. However I can't make anything of this. Sorry if this is a very trivial issue, I have no experience in client-side programming. • Numeric comparison difficulty in R

  I'm trying to compare two numbers in R as a part of a if-statement condition: (a-b) >= 0.5 In this particular instance, a = 0.58 and b = 0.08... and yet (a-b) >= 0.5 is false. I'm aware of the dangers of using == for exact number comparisons, and this seems related: (a - b) == 0.5) is false, while all.equal((a - b), 0.5) is true. The only solution I can think of is to have two conditions: (a-b) > 0.5 | all.equal((a-b), 0.5). This works, but is that really the only solution? Should I just swear off of the = family of comparison operators forever?

• In Android Browser link does not always execute onClick causing focus instead

  I am trying to program a very standard JS behavior for a link using an HREF onClick handler, and I am facing a strange problem caused by what I believe to be focus/touch mode behavior on Android. Sometimes when I click on the link, instead of executing the action, it simply becomes selected/focused, with either just a focus rectangle or even also with a filled focus rectangle (selected as opposed to just focused?).   I pull product price from another page. Then I multiply it with quantity entered in the quantity input field. The problem is, if I forget to enter quantity value before I pull product price data or if I change the quantity field later, the final total price is not updated.   Hi, I'm trying to optimize a piece of software which is basically running millions of tests. These tests are generated in such a way that there can be some repetitions. Of course, I don't want to spend time running tests which I already ran if I can avoid it efficiently. So, I'm thinking about using a Bloom filter to store the tests which have been already ran. However, the Bloom filter errs on the unsafe side for me. It gives false positives. That is, it may report that I've ran a test which I haven't. Although this could be acceptable in the scenario I'm working on, I was wondering if there's an equivalent to a Bloom filter, but erring on the opposite side, that is, only giving false negatives. I've skimmed through the literature without any luck.

Sales" End If Basically what is happening is, if a certain radio button is selected and the user didn't click the checkbox the default regions are included and they are hardcoded because the query runs much faster. if the user did click the checkbox then the textbox where they type the specific regions shows up and it will run the query that includes the dbo.B605SaleAsOfAdvancedMaster.SDESCR in (" & TextBox1.Text & ") If you can somehow do this using parameters and not with the textbox1.text in the query it will run much faster for me thanks for your help

  Hello, I've been looking into custom event (listeners) for quite some time, but never succeeded in making one. There are so many different mehods, extending the Event class, but also Extending the EventDispatcher class, very confusing! • Refresh page isnt working in asp.net using treeview

  Hi, I am trying to refresh an asp.net page using this command: <meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="10"/> On that page I have 2 treeviews. The refresh works ok when I just open the page, but when I click on one of the treeviews and expand it, the refresh stopps working and the page isnt being refreshed. Any ideas why this can happen? Is there any connection to the treeview being expanded?
