  • Excel 2010 - more than 1 calculation within an IF() statement

    I have a situation where I need to calculate shipping values based on the length of the supply chain. Easy, however I need to have instances where an increased amount is required based on specific date criteria. My example is as follows: Shipvalue = 100 Date1 = 1/1/2013 (Jan) - ship 50% more than usual Date2 = 2/1/2013 (Feb) - ship 25% more than usual Date3 = 3/1/2013 (Mar) - ship 25% more than usual Supply chain length is: June - October 100 days November - March 140 days April - June 100 days The issue I have is that as there is an increase in the number of days, my formula: IF( Date1-(Supply chain length + any extra days)=today's date, shipvalue+(shipvalue X 50%), IF( Date2-(Supply chain length + any extra days)=today's date, shipvalue+(shipvalue x 50%) IF( Date2-(Supply chain length + any extra days)=today's date, shipvalue+(shipvalue x 50%), IF( preceding cell<>0,shipvalue, 0) ) ) ) Now the problem with this is that if the length of the supply chain increases then the formula misses all but the 1st increase. So, I thought of adding a variable that would be incremented and checked every time you made an increased shipping amount. So, how do I do both the calculation for the increased shipping value, and set the variable in one part of the IF statement?

  • JDK 7u25: Solutions to Issues caused by changes to Runtime.exec

    The following examples were prepared by Java engineering for the benefit of Java developers who may have faced issues with Runtime.exec on the Windows platform. Background In JDK 7u21, the decoding of command strings specified to Runtime.exec(String), Runtime.exec(String,String[]) and Runtime.exec(String,String[],File) methods, has been made more strict. See JDK 7u21 Release Notes for more information. This caused several issues for applications. The following section describes some of the problems faced by developers and their solutions. Note: In JDK 7u25, the system property jdk.lang.Process.allowAmbigousCommands can be used to relax the checking process and helps as a workaround for some applications that cannot be changed. The workaround is only effective for applications that are run without a SecurityManager. See JDK 7u25 Release Notes for more information. Note: To understand the details of the Windows API CreateProcess call, see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms682425%28v=vs.85%29.aspx There are two forms of Runtime.exec calls: with the command as string: "Runtime.exec(String command[, ...])" with the command as string array: "Runtime.exec(String[] cmdarray [, ...] )" The issues described in this section relate to the first form of call. With the first call form, developers expect the command to be passed "as is" to Windows where the command needs be split into its executable name and arguments parts first. But, in accordance with Java API, the command argument is split into executable name and arguments by spaces. Problem 1: "The file path for the command includes spaces" In the call: Runtime.getRuntime().exec("c:\\Program Files\\do.exe") the argument is split by spaces to an array of strings as: c:\\Program, Files\\do.exe The first element of parsed array is interpreted as the executable name, verified by SecurityManager (if present) and surrounded by quotations to avoid ambiguity in executable path. This results in the wrong command: "c:\\Program" "Files\\do.exe" which will fail. Solution: Use the ProcessBuilder class, or the Runtime.exec(String[] cmdarray [, ...] ) call, or quote the executable path. Where it is not possible to change the application code and where a SecurityManager is not used, the Java property jdk.lang.Process.allowAmbigousCommands could be used by setting its value to "true" from the command line: -Djdk.lang.Process.allowAmbigousCommands=true This will relax the checking process to allow ambiguous input. Examples: new ProcessBuilder("c:\\Program Files\\do.exe").start() Runtime.getRuntime().exec(new String[]{"c:\\Program Files\\do.exe"}) Runtime.getRuntime().exec("\"c:\\Program Files\\do.exe\"") Problem 2: "Shell command/.bat/.cmd IO redirection" The following implicit cmd.exe calls: Runtime.getRuntime().exec("dir temp.txt") new ProcessBuilder("foo.bat", "", "temp.txt").start() Runtime.getRuntime().exec(new String[]{"foo.cmd", "", "temp.txt"}) lead to the wrong command: "XXXX" "" temp.txt Solution: To specify the command correctly, use the following options: Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd /C \"dir temp.txt\"") new ProcessBuilder("cmd", "/C", "foo.bat temp.txt").start() Runtime.getRuntime().exec(new String[]{"cmd", "/C", "foo.cmd temp.txt"}) or Process p = new ProcessBuilder("cmd", "/C" "XXX").redirectOutput(new File("temp.txt")).start(); Problem 3: "Group execution of shell command and/or .bat/.cmd files" Due to enforced verification procedure, arguments in the following calls create the wrong commands.: Runtime.getRuntime().exec("first.bat && second.bat") new ProcessBuilder("dir", "&&", "second.bat").start() Runtime.getRuntime().exec(new String[]{"dir", "|", "more"}) Solution: To specify the command correctly, use the following options: Runtime.exec("cmd /C \"first.bat && second.bat\"") new ProcessBuilder("cmd", "/C", "dir && second.bat").start() Runtime.exec(new String[]{"cmd", "/C", "dir | more"}) The same scenario also works for the "&", "||", "^" operators of the cmd.exe shell.   • Convert NSData to primitive variable with ieee-754 or twos-complement ?

    Hi every one. I am new programmer in Obj-C and cocoa. Im a trying to write a framework which will be used to read a binary files (Flexible Image Transport System or FITS binary files, usually used by astronomers). The binary data, that I am interested to extract, can have various formats and I get its properties by reading the header of the FITS file. Up to now, I manage to create a class to store the content of the FITS file and to isolate the header into a NSString object and the binary data into a NSData object. I also manage to write method which allow me to extract the key values from the header that are very valuable to interpret the binary data. I am now trying to convert the NSData object into a primitive array (array of double, int, short ...). But, here, I get stuck and would appreciate any help. Therefore, I think that the Obj-C double does not use the IEEE-754 convention as well as the Obj-C int are not twos-complement. I am really not familiar with this two convention (IEEE and twos-complement) and would like to know how I can do this conversion with Obj-C. In advance many thanks for any help or information.

    When trying to do math on an big integer (int64) large number in xslt template I get the wrong result since there is no native 64-bit integer support in xslt (xslt number is 64-bit double). I am using msxml 6.0 on Windows XP SP3.     I am trying to get the Highlighter class from Lucene to work properly with tokens coming from Solr's WordDelimiterFilter. It works 90% of the time, but if the matching text contains a ',' such as "1,500" the output is incorrect: Expected: 'test 1,500 this' Observed: 'test 11,500 this' I am not currently sure whether it is Highlighter messing up the recombination or WordDelimiterFilter messing up the tokenization but something is unhappy. This behaviour is observed only in case of a ManyTomany mapped relationships. Since I would also like audit the packageproduct deletion, its kind of an annoyance when the event listener aren't able to capture the delete event. Any information about it would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello, VS C# 2008 SP1 I have a created a small application that records and plays audio. However, my application needs to save the wave file to the application data directory on the users computer. The mciSendString takes a C style string as a parameter and has to be in 8.3 format. However, my problem is I can't get it to save. And what is strange is sometime it does and sometimes it doesn't. Howver, most of the time is failes. However, if I save directly to the C drive it works first time everything. I have used 3 different methods that I have coded below. The error number that I get when it fails is 286."The file was not saved.   • objective-c uncompress/inflate a NSData object which contains a gzipped string

    Hi, I'm using objective-c (iPhone) to read a sqlite table that contains blob data. The blob data is actually a gzipped string. The blob data is read into memory as an NSData object I then use a method (gzipInflate) which I grabbed from here (http://www.cocoadev.com/index.pl?NSDataCategory) -- see method below. However, the gzipInflate method is returning nil. If I step through the gzipInflate method, I can see that the status returned near the bottom of the method is -3, which I assume is some type of error (Z_STREAM_END = 1 and Z_OK = 0, but I don't know precisely what a status of -3 is). Consequently, the function returns nil even though the input NSData is 841 bytes in length. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong? Is there something wrong with the method? Something wrong with how I'm using the method? Any thoughts on how to test this?     Hello, I am trying to read command lien argument but it seems there is some kind of bug in .NET. The parameter which I pass to my console application /i "C:\Projects\PC\trunk\Simulator\PDF-Source\PDF-Source\bin\Debug\ConversionFiles\dummy.pdf" /o "result" CommandLine variable return three arguments, but I pass four and values of these arguments messed up. /i = true "C:\Projects\PC\trunk\Simulator\PDF-Source\PDF-Source\bin\Debug\ConversionFiles\dummy.pdf" = true /o = "result" As you see only the last argument is parsed corectlly. I managed to do it with a regular ListView, but now that I switched to ObjectListView(a lot more features, and ease), I can't seem to do the same.     I have URLs like http://example.com/depict?smiles=CO&width=200&height=200 (and with several other optional arguments) My urls.py contains: urlpatterns = patterns('', (r'^$', 'cansmi.index'), (r'^cansmi$', 'cansmi.cansmi'), url(r'^depict$', cyclops.django.depict, name="cyclops-depict"), I can go to that URL and get the 200x200 PNG that was constructed, so I know that part works. In my template from the "cansmi.cansmi" response I want to construct a URL for the named template "cyclops-depict" given some query parameters. I thought I could do {% url cyclops-depict smiles=input_smiles width=200 height=200 %} where "input_smiles" is an input to the template via a form submission. In this case it's the string "CO" and I thought it would create a URL like the one at top. This template fails with a TemplateSyntaxError: Caught an exception while rendering: Reverse for 'cyclops-depict' with arguments '()' and keyword arguments '{'smiles': u'CO', 'height': 200, 'width': 200}' not found. This is a rather common error message both here on StackOverflow and elsewhere. In every case I found, people were using them with parameters in the URL path regexp, which is not the case I have where the parameters go into the query. That means I'm doing it wrong. How do I do it right? That is, I want to construct the full URL, including path and query parameters, using something in the template.   • Can't get max_post_size php variable set in lunar pages.

    I need to increase max post size and upload size for php to use the audio module of drupal. I read this has to be set in php.ini. However I don't think I have access to that file in lunar pages. I also read it can also be set in .htaccess. However it doesn't change anything. I tried: php_value post_max_size "40M" php_value upload_max_filesize "40M" i also tried: php_value post_max_size 40M php_value upload_max_filesize 40M On localhost it says restart webserver. But this is not possible on shared host. Could that be the problem?
