    - by Tim
    Hi all, I would like to return an array of string in my web services I've tryed : <?php require_once('nusoap/nusoap.php'); $server = new soap_server(); $server->configureWSDL('NewsService', 'urn:NewsService'); $server->register('GetAllNews', array(), array('return' => 'xsd:string[]'), 'urn:NewsService', 'urn:NewsService#GetAllNews', 'rpc', 'literal', '' ); // Define the method as a PHP function function GetAllNews() { $stack = array("orange", "banana"); array_push($stack, "apple", "raspberry"); return $stack; } but it doesn't work.   • Paste string of date format mm/dd/yy to Numbers

    - by David.Chu.ca
    I have trouble to paste a list of strings in the format of 'mm/dd/yy' into Numbers. For example: 04/01/10 04/03/10 04/13/10 The result will be: 2004-01-10 2004-03-10 04/13/10 It looks like that Numbers convert the mm into year, then month and last day. Is there any way to paste whatever as they are? Do I have to change settings in Numberers or System preference?

  • Parsing complex string using regex

    - by wojtek_z
    My regex skills are not very good and recently a new data element has thrown my parser into a loop Take the following string "+USER=Bob Smith-GROUP=Admin+FUNCTION=Read/FUNCTION=Write" Previously I had the following for my regex : [+\\-/] Which would turn the result into USER=Bob Smith GROUP=Admin FUNCTION=Read FUNCTION=Write FUNCTION=Read But now I have values with dashes in them which is causing bad output New string looks like "+USER=Bob Smith-GROUP=Admin+FUNCTION=Read/FUNCTION=Write/FUNCTION=Read-Write" Which gives me the following result , and breaks the key = value structure. USER=Bob Smith GROUP=Admin FUNCTION=Read FUNCTION=Write FUNCTION=Read Write Can someone help me formulate a valid regex for handling this or point me to some key / value examples. Basically I need to be able to handle + - / signs in order to get combinations.

  • reading a string with spaces with sscanf

    - by SDLFunTimes
    For a project I'm trying to read an int and a string from a string. The only problem is sscanf appears to break reading an %s when it sees a space. Is there anyway to get around this limitation? Here's an example of what I'm trying to do: #include<stdio.h> #include<stdlib.h> int main(int argc, char** argv) { int age; char* buffer; buffer = malloc(200 * sizeof(char)); sscanf("19 cool kid", "%d %s", &age, buffer); printf("%s is %d years old\n", buffer, age); return 0; } What it prints is: "cool is 19 years old" where I need "cool kid is 19 years old". Does anyone know how to fix this?

  • Difference b/w putting condition in JOIN clause versus WHERE clause

    - by user244953
    Suppose I have 3 tables. Sales Rep Rep Code First Name Last Name Phone Email Sales Team Orders Order Number Rep Code Customer Number Order Date Order Status Customer Customer Number Name Address Phone Number I want to get a detailed report of Sales for 2010. I would be doing a join. I am interested in knowing which of the following is more efficient and why ? SELECT O.OrderNum, R.Name, C.Name FROM Order O INNER JOIN Rep R ON O.RepCode = R.RepCode INNER JOIN Customer C ON O.CustomerNumber = C.CustomerNumber WHERE O.OrderDate >= '01/01/2010' OR SELECT O.OrderNum, R.Name, C.Name FROM Order O INNER JOIN Rep R ON (O.RepCode = R.RepCode AND O.OrderDate >= '01/01/2010') INNER JOIN Customer C ON O.CustomerNumber = C.CustomerNumber

  • Is this an F# quotations bug?

    - by ControlFlow
    [<ReflectedDefinition>] let rec x = (fun() -> x + "abc") () The sample code with the recursive value above produces the following F# compiler error: error FS0432: [<ReflectedDefinition>] terms cannot contain uses of the prefix splice operator '%' I can't see any slicing operator usage in the code above, looks like a bug... :) Looks like this is the problem with the quotation via ReflectedDefinitionAttribute only, normal quotation works well: let quotation = <@ let rec x = (fun() -> x + "abc") () in x @> produces expected result with the hidden Lazy.create and Lazy.force usages: val quotation : Quotations.Expr<string> = LetRecursive ([(x, Lambda (unitVar, Application (Lambda (unitVar0, Call (None, String op_Addition[String,String,String](String, String), [Call (None, String Force[String](Lazy`1[System.String]), [x]), Value ("abc")])), Value (<null>)))), (x, Call (None, Lazy`1[String] Create[String](FSharpFunc`2[Unit,String]), [x])), (x, Call (None, String Force[String](Lazy`1[String]), [x]))], x) So the question is: is this an F# compiler bug or not?

  • Calculating string sizes on iPhone on a background thread

    - by jbrennan
    I've got some somewhat hefty string size calculations happening in my app (each one takes close to 500ms, and happens when the user scrolls to a new "page" in my app (like the Weather app). The delay only happens once per page, as the calculation only needs to be run once (and can even be cached for subsequent launches with the same data). Anyway, I still like to not block the UI for this type of work, as to me it screams using threads, but I know UIKit is not meant to be used from other threads. (I know NSString is not part of UIKit, but the string sizing methods are part of the UIKitAdditions...) So how should I go about doing this? What's the best way to not block the UI and do so safely?

  • How to connect an existing wizard generated data set to a different server(same database) at run tim

    - by Kiril
    Hello, I am coding a simple space empire management game in Visual C# 2008, which relies on connecting to a remote SQL server database to get/store data. I would like the user to be able to connect to a user-specified SQL server from the login screen(he specifies IP address, port, database name, ID, password and presses "connect" button). However, I found out that the Dataset connection string property is read only and cannot be changed. Is there any way to guide the wizard-generated DataSet to a user-specified server at run time? Thanks in advance.

  • In Seam what's the difference between injected EntityManager and getEntityManager from EntityHome

    - by Navi
    I am testing a Seam application using the needle test API. In my code I am using the getEntityManager() method from EntityHome. When I run the unit tests against an in memory database I get the following exception: java.lang.IllegalStateException: No application context active at org.jboss.seam.Component.forName(Component.java:1945) at org.jboss.seam.Component.getInstance(Component.java:2005) at org.jboss.seam.Component.getInstance(Component.java:1983) at org.jboss.seam.Component.getInstance(Component.java:1977) at org.jboss.seam.Component.getInstance(Component.java:1972) at org.jboss.seam.framework.Controller.getComponentInstance(Controller.java:272) at org.jboss.seam.framework.PersistenceController.getPersistenceContext(PersistenceController.java:20) at org.jboss.seam.framework.EntityHome.getEntityManager(EntityHome.java:177) etc .. I can resolve some of these errors by injecting the EntityManager with @In EntityManager entityManager; Unfortunately the persist method of EntityHome also calls the getEntityManager. This means a lot of mocks or rewriting the code somehow. Is there any workaround and why is this exception thrown anyway? I am using Seam 2.2.0 GA by the way. There is nothing special about the components. They are generated by seam-gen. The test is performed with in memory database - I followed the examples in http://jbosscc-needle.sourceforge.net/jbosscc-needle/1.0/db-util.html.

  • Difference between OData and REST web services

    - by Scott
    While looking into some web services, I ran across this "new" technology that Microsoft is calling OData. (http://www.odata.org) Reading through their description within the FAQ on what OData is, I am having a hard time distinguishing OData from REST-ful web services. Could someone please help me understand the differences?

  • Determining whether values can potentially match a regular expression, given more input

    - by Andreas Grech
    I am currently writing an application in JavaScript where I'm matching input to regular expressions, but I also need to find a way how to match strings to parts of the regular expressions. For example: var invalid = "x", potentially = "g", valid = "ggg", gReg = /^ggg$/; gReg.test(invalid); //returns false (correct) gReg.test(valid); //returns true (correct) Now I need to find a way to somehow determine that the value of the potentially variable doesn't exactly match the /^ggg$/ expression, BUT with more input, it potentially can! So for example in this case, the potentially variable is g, but if two more g's are appended to it, it will match the regular expression /^ggg$/ But in the case of invalid, it can never match the /^ggg$/ expression, no matter how many characters you append to it. So how can I determine if a string has or doesn't have potential to match a particular regular expression?

  • Decode json string returned from Flickr API using PHP, curl

    - by Globalz
    Im trying to decode a json string returned from flickr within my PHP code. Im using CURL but it keeps returning a string even when I wrap json_decode() around the json sring variable. Any ideas? $api_key = '####'; $photoset_id = '###'; $query = 'http://api.flickr.com/services/rest/?&method=flickr.photosets.getPhotos&api_key='.$api_key.'&photoset_id='.$photoset_id.'&extras=url_o,url_t&format=json&jsoncallback=1'; $ch = curl_init(); // open curl session // set curl options curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $query); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); $data = curl_exec($ch); // execute curl session curl_close($ch); // close curl session var_dump(json_decode($data));

  • Difference between Document-oriented-DB and Bigtable clones

    - by chen
    We are looking for a suitable storage engine for our weblog history data. We looked at Bigtable's paper and understand it is suitable to us well. However, I also understand that Document-oriented-DB such as MongoDB seems to provide a little more powerful schema power -- i.e, it can model our data as well. I wonder how nowadays ppl choose a scalable NoSQL DB --- I read enough articles like "we looked at A, B and C, and we decided to use C". But I'd like to see some benchmark number. What I am saying is that if MongoDB and the like can provide same level of performance as Bigtable clones, why don't web companies choose it (preparing to deal with various potentially more complex data problem)? Thanks, By the way, I read an article (which convinced me at the moment) saying Cassandra does not fit the M/R operation, any comments?

  • How big can a user agent string get?

    - by Josh
    If you were going to store a user agent in a database, how large would you accomdate for? I found this technet article which recommends keeping UA under 200. It doesn't look like this is defined in the HTTP specification at least not that I found. My UA is already 149 characters, and it seems like each version of .net will be adding to it. I know I can parse the string out and break it down but I'd rather not. EDIT Based on this Blog IE9 will be changing to send the short UA string. This is a good change.

  • How to use strange characters in a query string

    - by peter
    I am using silverlight / ASP .NET and C#. What if I want to do this from silverlight for instance, // I have left out the quotes to show you literally what the characters // are that I want to use string password = vtakyoj#"5 string encodedPassword = HttpUtility.UrlEncode(encryptedPassword, Encoding.UTF8); // encoded password now = vtakyoj%23%225 URI uri = new URI("http://www.url.com/page.aspx@password=vtakyoj%23%225"); HttpPage.Window.Navigate(uri); If I debug and look at the value of uri it shows up as this (we are still inside the silverlight app), http://www.url.com?password=vtakyoj%23"5 So the %22 has become a quote for some reason. If I then debug inside the page.aspx code (which of course is ASP .NET) the value of Request["pasword"] is actually this, vtakyoj#"5 Which is the original value. How does that work? I would have thought that I would have to go, HttpUtility.UrlDecode(Request["pswd"], Encoding.UTF8) To get the original value. Hope this makes sense? Thanks.

  • How do I flip a column in mysql that has data structured: 'last name, first name'?

    - by ggg
    I want to create a new column in a MYSQL table that has Fn Ln instead of Ln, Fn. Most of my data is printed Fn Ln. Another idea is to incorporate a string function each time there is an output (php based) but that seems to waste resources. Finally, I couldn't find the syntax (loop or foreach) for my php function anyway. Here is the working php function that I got from a previous post: $name = "Lastname, Firstname"; $names = explode(", ", $name); $name = $names[1] . " " . $names[0];

  • How to use a variable in an awk expression

    - by lugte098
    I'm trying to make this command: sed bla bla filename | awk '{printf "%s %s_entry_%.3f %.3f %.3f %.3f",$1,$3,$4,$5,$6,$7}' But the thing is, i want the %.3f part to be variable. So in one case it could be %.3f and in another it could be %.3f %.3f %.3f. So i'll just use a static one in my example code for clarity. So if i want 4 of these %.3f and put them in variable $values like so: values="%.3f %.3f %.3f %.3f" Then how can i put this string in the awk expression, without making awk to just put literally "${values}" in there. The following is my non-working-attempt: sed bla bla filename | awk '{printf "%s %s_entry_${values}",$1,$3,$4,$5,$6,$7}'
