  • Has glassfish 2.1.1 a bug handling http request and handle them twice?

    I'm using glassfish 2.1.1. I've watched a mysterious http/webservice-call handling. It seams an http request is handled by two different threads. After http basic authentication the first thread is faster. Persisting some data end, but writing response fails in glassfish internal. The second thread fails, because it tries to persist identical data and there are (unique) constrain failures. The response (the failure) of second thread was delivered to client. I don't won't discuss the behavior with the unique constrain failure. I've improve the webservice, so it can handle this better, because it could be happen anytime, that the client send the ws call a second time. But I think, glassfish 2.1.1 has an bug handling http request. Is there any known issue? Have I done an mistake?   • How do I make Nginx redirect all requests for files which do not exist to a single php file?

    I have the following nginx vhost config: server { listen 80 default_server; access_log /path/to/site/dir/logs/access.log; error_log /path/to/site/dir/logs/error.log; root /path/to/site/dir/webroot; index index.php index.html; try_files $uri /index.php; location ~ \.php$ { if (!-f $request_filename) { return 404; } fastcgi_pass localhost:9000; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME /path/to/site/dir/webroot$fastcgi_script_name; include /path/to/nginx/conf/fastcgi_params; } } I want to redirect all requests that don't match files which exist to index.php. This works fine for most URIs at the moment, for example: example.com/asd example.com/asd/123/1.txt Neither of asd or asd/123/1.txt exist so they get redirected to index.php and that works fine. However, if I put in the url example.com/asd.php, it tries to look for asd.php and when it can't find it, it returns 404 instead of sending the request to index.php. Is there a way to get asd.php to be also sent to index.php if asd.php doesn't exist?

  • Does Apache allow to authorize an HTTP request based on a result of a subrequest?

    I'm looking for an equivalent of nginx http auth request module but for Apache. For each incoming HTTP requests, the module sends a subrequests to authentication/authorization back-end. Th auth request carries a path and all headers of the original request. Based on the result of the auth request, the original requests is allowed (HTTP code 200), denied (HTTP code 403) or login is requested (HTTP code 401). Such a generic mechanism allows to build really flexible authentication and authorization schemes. Is something like this possible in Apache (likely with a help of some third party module)?

    I am running Ubuntu 12.04. As you might know Google Earth 7 doesn't work in Ubuntu 12.04 yet. I installed Google Earth via make-googleearth-package --force command. My installation was saccesful. At the beginning everything was working fine. But after some days I had a problem. When I type in "Fly to" box a city I wanted to search for it.     For some weird reason, our domain's content is returned for any https request set to any of our server's hosted domain names. https://domain.com leads to our website, with a proper SSL certificate (so, no warning). https://domain2.com, also hosted on our server but without SSL certificate, leads to a warning, and if accepted, to our website's content! The problem is that any search for our keywords in Google shows "fake websites" on top of ours, with the warning et al. It seems unsolvable so we are thinking about switching back ton nonsecure http . I'm just afraid of losing whatever indexing we have. How can i avoid that? Thanks, a.

  • IIS throws HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable after installation of windows 8

    I was using IIS7.5 on Windows 7. Everything worked great. I then installed Windows 8. The shortcut link to my IIS7.5 stopped working, because all this was apparently moved to a windows.old folder. I had to install IIS8 via the 'turn Windows features on/off'. After I did that, I saw my sites again and everything looked ok, until I browsed to a site and got the error: Service Unavailable HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable. I restarted IIS, restarted my PC, restarted the single site, but the problem remains. I also tried looking at the event logs. My eventlogs used to be in C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles\W3SVC4, but I don't see any log of today in there. Maybe that has changed with the new IIS as well? If so, where are the eventlogs now or where can I see where they should be saved?

    I have to following situation: I had an old blog that was made using Joomla (this blog was indexed well enough by search engines). For some problems I delete it and I have create it again using WordPress. Now I have many visit (from Google) that leading to specific pages of the old site (pages that don't exist in the new version). For example I have visit to URL as: /scorejava/index.php/corso-spring-mvc/1-test that don't exist on my new site. I would know if using the .htaccess file (or other sistem) I can redirect the HTTP request directed to some subfolder (that don't exist in the new version) to the homepage of my new site. For example I have the request towards the void URL: /scorejava/index.php/corso-spring-mvc/1-test. And I would create a regular expression that say something like: all the request toward the subfolder corso-spring-mvc (and all it's content file and subfolder) have to be redirected to www.scorejava.com.   • APC not caching many files

    Hello I have a Drupal site running on a VPS at Linode with PHP 5.2.10 and APC 3.1.6. It never caches more than about 25 files and barely uses any of its available memory. Drupal has hundreds of php files. I have another server where APC seems to work well and does indeed cache hundreds of files. The only difference with that site is that it runs Ubuntu 10.04 and php 5.3.2. The config settings are the same. What could be wrong? I'll paste the config from apc.php below.   • Comparing Nginx+PHP-FPM to Apache-mod_php

Apache + mod_php or Nginx + PHP-FPM I used ApacheBench (ab) and Siege to test both setups and I'm seeing Apache performing better. This surprises me a little bit since I've heard a lot of good things about Nginx + PHP-FPM. My current Nginx setup is something that is a bit out of the box, and the same goes for PHP-FPM What optimizations I can make to speed up the Nginx + PHP-FPM combo over Apache and mo_php ? In my tests using ab, Apache is outperforming Nginx significantly (higher requets/second and finishing tests much faster) I've googled around a bit, but since I've never using Nginx, PHP-FPM or FastCGI, I don't exactly know where to start PHP v5.2.13, Drupal v6, latest PHP-FPM and Nginx compiled from source.   • Performance Test and TCP tuning

    We are in the process of performance testing an application which receives tcp requests converts them to soap requests (WCF-httpBinding) which other services work on. The server is Windows Server 2008 R2. The TCP requests are received by TcpListener instance (.NET C#). There are 3 http-binded WCF services running on the same server. We have built a performance test client which goal is to simulate multiple concurrent requests(each request has to be different and recognizable by the application). We built a test running 150 requests that run on the same time (by 150 different threads), and we noticed straight away that some requests get the TCP connection slowly, but once they get it, they act fast. A single request writes twice on the same connection- request and an application ack. Although a single request+ack can take about 150ms, the 150 test takes about 7 seconds. The Problem When we try to run this test from 2 different computers we lose requests. some clients requests are getting no connection was made because the target machine actively refused it So I got here and got convinced it was because of the backlog. I changed the TcpListener parameters and did the registry AFD backlog changes written here but it still didn't work, so I inserted all of the TCP tuning suggested plus some netsh commands which were recommended, but still no change, we still get that error. Is there anything else I need to know? Are there any other solutions?

  • AWS elastic load balancer basic issues

    I have an array of EC2 t1.micro instances behind a load balancer and each node can manage ~100 concurrent users before it starts to get wonky. i would THINK if i have 2 such instances it would allow my network to manage 200 concurrent users... apparently not. When i really slam the server (blitz.io) with a full 275 concurrents, it behaves the same as if there is just one node. it goes from 400ms response time to 1.6 seconds (which for a single t1.micro is expected, but not 6). So the question is, am i simply not doing something right or is ELB effectively worthless? Anyone have some wisdom on this?   • Installing a .deb file manually?

    apt-get install gitosis --fix-missing on my Linode still leads to a 404 (Failed to fetch http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/g/gitosis/gitosis_0.2+20080825-2_all.deb 404 Not Found [IP: 130.89.148.12 80] ) . The correct file location seems to be http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/g/gitosis/gitosis_0.2+20090917-11_all.deb Is there any way I can install this without apt-get, or point apt-get in the right direction somehow? Several other packages on my Debian Linode also point to 404, both from command line and virtualmin.
