• LIBGDX "parsing error emitter" with 2 or more emitters [on hold]

  I have a problem with the use of particle effect of LIBGDX with 2 or more emitters. After using ParticleEditor to create my .p file, I use it in my code BUT...when I use only 1 emitter it's fine but with more than 1, not fine ! :( Here is my error code in java console : Exception in thread "LWJGL Application" java.lang.RuntimeException: Error parsing emitter: -   I have a free software web application that using other free software scripts for appearance. I have trouble to decide whether should I copy source code of used scripts to my project main repository or list them as dependencies and ask user to install them himself? Since some of scripts solving browser compatibilities issues and I'm not a good web designer (i hate to check my web site on IE to see compatibility) using the newest version of scripts is preferable and second solution works here. But it has problem with scripts aren't backward-compatible with versions I've used them for development. Maybe another method is well-known for this issues that I don't know them.

  I need to manage attachments on my Spring web application and I thought to use an open source repository. My app it's a job approval system using J2EE / SPRING 3 Framework and Postgress DB to allow user to tracks the job,right through every step of the approval process. It is a fully managed, collaborative system that operates from a central server and is accessed by a standard internet browser. An user should be able to add an attach to a request or an approval step, so, I though to use Jackrabbit with Postgres database persistence manager.   Hello, I am running on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server an GTK application that used to work fine. It suddenly started to hang in interruptible state (Sl+) without any apparent reason. I tried to restart my X server, but it didn't help. Do you have an idea how to solve this problem?

• How to un-fullscreen an application on your secondary monitor in 11.10

  Nvidia twinview wasn't working for me very well so I uninstalled it and started using the nouveau driver, since then my dual monitors are working properly. With 11.10 the panel has changed. It appears on my main monitor only, along with the unity bar. When I have an application full screened the panel acts as the file menu, along with max, min, and close options. However I'm noticing when I have something full screened on my secondary monitor (where there is no panel) I have no way of un-fullscreening it. The panel on the main monitor do not show any options when that window is selected. This is okay for some apps like my web browser that has these buttons in it anyway, but I fullscreened Banshee and now it's stuck there... Any idea on how to un-fullscreen something in this situation?

• Run application in specific X server or VNC port

  I have an application that I'd like to run, yet I'd like it to be visible only through a certain VNC port. I don't want the app to show up on the normal Ubuntu desktop. I want the app to run "in the background", and be viewable through VNC only. And when connected to this "alternate X server", the end-user wouldn't see any menu bars, no window decorations.. Just the app. Come to think of it, what I'm asking for is a sort of kiosk-mode for only a certain app, accessible through VNC. Is this possible or am I really reaching here? Thanks!   I am relatively new to programming. I have been programming with Java and Android for about 2 years now and just recently released my first app to the Google Play app store. I have passed the word on to everyone I know and posted a few times on Facebook about it. But I am not really seeing anyone install them. I love to code I'm not looking to have the next big time app, but it would be nice to get some installs and feedback/ratings so I can get an idea of how well its doing and if there are any fixes or improvements I can make. I thought about doing an AdMob campaign a couple times here and there at about $10 to $20 per day. But I'm not sure if that will generate any kind of worthwhile feedback. It started off as Perl but I needed it to have proper multithreaded capabilities, so I rewrote it in C++ which was a horrendous experience and the development time was many many times more than that of the Perl bot. C++ is clearly not well suited to web services type programming so there is no way I am going to write in C++ again.

  I tried to install Matlab2013a in my laptop (Ubuntu system). I download a ISO file (very big) and followed their instruction: mount it and run "install". But it returns me an error: Cannot locate Java Runtime Enviroment (JRE). The directory ~/Matlab/sys/java/jre/glnx86/jre does not exist. In the folder ~/Matlab/sys/java/jre/, what I have is "glnxa64". Does that mean that I can't install this version of Matlab in my 32bit laptop? This java comes from Matlab. How should I get it work?

• 14.04 LTS, 32-bit, Software Updater error "Failed to download repository information: Check your internet connection"

  There isn't much to say about this one: when I run Software Updater, I get the above error message. That can't be good. Interestingly, when I click on "Settings..." and then close the settings dialogue that pops up, all of a sudden Software Updater successfully finds updates and installs them. I thought I should bring this to the attention of the Ubuntu community. sudo apt-get update returns the following: W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/deluge-team/ppa/ubuntu/dists/trusty/main/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead. I have screen captures, but I don't have enough reputation points to post them.

• md5deep error with after compression and extraction

  I am using md5deep to generate the checksum for the contents of an entire directory. After generation, if I use the checksum file and run a check, there are no errors. However, if I compress the file and extract it, it seems to generate an error about a missing file. The file is just called .md5. There is no file called .md5 inside the directory. It seems to create a file that is not existent. This problem exists when I use md5sum or md5deep. Any thoughts on why this is happening?

  I want to develop a django webapp that would get deployed at the customer site. The web app would run in a private cloud environment (ESX server here) of the customer. My web app would use a mysql database. The problem is I would not have direct access/control of the webapp. My question is, how to package such a web application with it's database and other entities so that it's easier to upgrade/update the app and it's database in future. Right now the idea I have is that I would provide a vm with the django app and database setup. The customer can just start the vm and he would have the webapp running. What are the other options I should consider?

• Why does a proportional controller have a steady state error?

  I've read about feedback loops, how much this steady state error is for a given gain and what to do to remove this steady state error (add integral and/or derivative gains to the controller), but I don't understand at all why this steady state error occurs in the first place. If I understand how a proportional control works correctly, the output is equal to the current output plus the error, multiplied by the proportional gain (Kp). However, wouldn't the error slowly diminish over time as it is added (reaching 0 at infinite time), not have a steady state error? From my confusion, it seems I'm completely misunderstanding how it works - a proper explanation of how this steady state error eventuates would be fantastic.

• Grub Rescue Error: Unknown Filesystem

  I was trying to dual boot Windows with Linux (linux installed first). I read that it was easier to do so if windows was installed first. So I tried to install windows, by creating a partition for it. There wasn't enough room on the drive so I tried changing the filesystem of my existing partition to support windows. Now whenever I try to start my computer I get the grub rescue screen. I've tried booting from CD and USB with ubuntu and also with windows, but nothing happens. I ran ls in grub rescue and got hd0, (hd0,msdos5), cd (with an install disc inserted), fd0, and fd1. However if I run ls on any of these I receive the error: unknown filesystem. Can anyone help me out?

  I'm wanting to try out Ubuntu, so followed the instructions for how to install Ubuntu onto a USB. I downloaded the .iso file, then the pendrivelinux 3 part process to make the USB bootable. I can see what looks like a full list of files on the USB (including the wubi.exe application and the syslinux folder). When I try to restart the computer with the USB in, I get the Dell start up screen, and then a black screen with "Boot Error" in the top right hand corner. Setup options (default) are to boot from Removable Device, then Hard Disc. USB is brand new, straight out of the packet. Computer: Dell Inspiron 530S BIOS: 1.0.13 OS: Windows Vista Home Edition USB: EMTEC 8Gb, formatted to FAT32 I've tried some of the tips in other help topics (holding down CTRL key while restarting, removing all other USB devices). I tried to reformat the USB to something other than FAT32, but my only other options were NTFS or exFAT (not FAT16 which was suggested in another topic).

  My Step Father is starting his own company, and he gets the wonderful life of having to deal with multiple clients. He needs a calendar system that can do the following: Can be updated from iCal (I'm pretty sure this just means CalDAV support) Needs to be able to show different clients the details of whats on his calendar for them, while showing other client's arranged times as only busy Wants to show it in a professional way, preferably on his own website. I was looking at Google Calendar, but alas it doesn't seem to actually support it like I thought it would. He was looking at MobileMe, but its simply public. Is there a calendar app or PHP application that can be installed on his server that can do this?

• Automatically switch to workspace with active application

  Hi, I currently have 4 workspaces. If I have a pidgin chat window open on one workspace that is currently not active and I get a message in that already open chat window, I want do be able to click on the green envelope symbol in the upper menu-bar and be switched to the workspace the window is situated. Currently if I click on the green envelope symbol there will be appear a button on the lower menu-bar on which I have to click to be switched to the other workspace. Same with opening links. If in some application I click on a link the last activated Firefox window will open the link. Even this last active firebox window is on a currently not active workspace, and there is a Firefox window on the currently active workspace. So either open the link in the Firefox on the currently active workspace, or switch to the workspace on which the link was opened. Is/are there any solution(s) to this problem?
