  • Objectdatasource always passes 0 and startIndex and pageSize in asp.net 2.0

    - by 101873438432680351218
I have a DevXpress ASPXGridview, and I am using ObjectDataSource for custom paging. This is my objectDataSource code on aspx page. <asp:ObjectDataSource ID="ObjectDataSource1" runat="server" SelectMethod="GetItems" EnablePaging="true" TypeName="BLL.Item" StartRowIndexParameterName="startIndex" MaximumRowsParameterName="pageSize" SelectCountMethod="GetTotalItems" > <SelectParameters> <asp:ControlParameter ControlID="hfNumber" Name="number" Type="string" /> <asp:ControlParameter ControlID="hfDesc" Name="description" Type="string" /> </SelectParameters> </asp:ObjectDataSource> When I put breakpoints in BLL code, I see that it always executes with startIndex and pageSize as 0. It does pass the other two selectparameters correctly. Also the SelectCountMethod (GetTotalItems) never gets executed.

  • Classic ASP Session not working in IIS 7 Windows Server 2008 R2 x64

    - by user553361
Hi, I've been googleing and searching here info about this but so far couldn't find anything relevant to my problem. We have a website currently working on II6 and Windows Server 2003 (x86) without any problem. Now we want to migrate our server to a Virtual Machine with Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64) and IIS7. Out current app is built in Classic ASP and SQL Server (This one located on a 2nd Server but this is staying the way it is now). The website is configured as a WebSite, not a virtual directory. Using DefaultAppPool with 4 applications. Now, the problem I'm getting is with the Sessions, or at least that's what I think since I created a simple hello.asp with this code <% response.write "Hello" response.write Session.SessionID %> And this is giving us this result: Hello error '8002801d' /hello.asp, line 3 ASP Sessions Properties Enable Session State : True Maximum Sessions : 2147483647 New ID On Secure Connection : True Time-out : 20 min This is the log in Event Viewer Warning 24/12/2010 14:03:42 Active Server Pages 9 None FailedReqLog Url http://apps.shocklogic.com:80/hello.asp App Pool DefaultAppPool Authentication anonymous User from token NT AUTHORITY\IUSR Activity ID {00000000-0000-0000-1400-0080000000F8} Site 1 Process 3312 Failure Reason STATUS_CODE Trigger Status 500 Final Status 500 Time Taken 110 msec Would be great if anyone has any ideas. • Unexpected Html.EditorFor behavior in ASP.NET MVC 2

    - by NickLarsen
I am getting some unexpected behavior from Html.EditorFor(). I have this controller: [HandleError] public class HomeController : Controller { [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Get)] public ActionResult Lister() { string[] values = { "Hello", "world", "!!!" }; return View(values); } [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Lister(string[] values) { string[] newValues = { "Some", "other", "values" }; return View(newValues); } } And this is my view which is intended to work for both of these: <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<string[]>" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="TitleContent" runat="server"> Lister </asp:Content> <asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" runat="server"> <h2>Lister</h2> <% using (Html.BeginForm()) { %> <% foreach (string value in Model) { %> <%= value %><br /> <% } %> <%= Html.EditorForModel() %> <input type="submit" value="Append Dashes" /> <% } %> </asp:Content> And the problem is that when the post back is made from the view, it hits the correct action, but the text boxes still show the original hello world data while the foreach loop outputs the new values. It feels like something in ASP.NET is overriding my model values from updating the text boxes and they are just displaying the same old values. I found this issue while trying to learn EditorFor with an IEnumerable.

  • asp.net with jquery valduation issue

    - by Eyla
    Greetings, I have 2 textboxs, 2 checkboxs and 2 labels. first textbox, checkbox, and label related to each other and the same for the rest. textbox should accept valid phone number based on jquery validation plugin and when the chackbox check the validation rule would change and in both option the error message would disply inside the label. I have no problem to implement that for one text box but when I add second one will have a problem and only the validation will happen for the second one only. please look at my code and advice. <script src="js/jquery-1.4.1.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="js/jquery.validate.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> var RegularExpression; var USAPhone = /^[01]?[- .]?(\([2-9]\d{2}\)|[2-9]\d{2})[- .]?\d{3}[- .]?\d{4}$/; var InterPhone = /^\d{9,12}$/; var errmsg; function ValidPhoneHome(sender) { if (sender.checked == true) { RegularExpression = InterPhone; errmsg = "Enter 9 to 12 numbers as international number"; } else { RegularExpression = USAPhone; errmsg = "Enter a valid number"; } jQuery.validator.addMethod("phonehome", function(value, element) { return this.optional(element) || RegularExpression.test(value); }, errmsg); } function ValidMobileHome(sender) { if (sender.checked == true) { RegularExpression = InterPhone; errmsg = "Enter 9 to 12 numbers as international number"; } else { RegularExpression = USAPhone; errmsg = "Enter a valid number"; } jQuery.validator.addMethod("mobilephone", function(value, element) { return this.optional(element) || RegularExpression.test(value); }, errmsg); } $(document).ready(function() { ValidPhoneHome("#<%= chkIntphoneHome%>"); ValidMobileHome("#<%= chkIntMobileHome%>"); $("#aspnetForm").validate({ rules: { "<%=txtHomePhone.UniqueID %>": { phonehome: true } } , errorLabelContainer: "#lblHomePhone", rules: { "<%=txtMobileHome.UniqueID %>": { mobilephone: true } } , errorLabelContainer: "#lblMobileHome" }) </script> <asp:CheckBox ID="chkIntphoneHome" runat="server" Text="Internation Code" onclick="ValidPhoneHome(this)" > <asp:TextBox ID="txtHomePhone" runat="server" ></asp:TextBox> <label id="lblHomePhone"></label> <asp:CheckBox ID="chkIntMobileHome" runat="server" Text="Internation Code" onclick="ValidMobileHome(this)" /> <asp:TextBox ID="txtMobileHome" runat="server"></asp:TextBox> <label id="lblMobileHome"></label>

  • COM access to classic ASP intrinsic objects

    - by wrench
I'm converting a VB6 COM object that works with classic ASP to a c# .Net COM Object Interop_COMSVCS.ObjectContext objContext; Interop_COMSVCS.AppServer objAppServer; objAppServer = null; // need to initialize before using objAppServer = new Interop_COMSVCS.AppServer(); objContext = objAppServer.GetObjectContext(); oApplication = (Interop_ASP.Application)objContext["Application"]; oSession = (Interop_ASP.Session)objContext["Session"]; oResponse = (Interop_ASP.Response)objContext["Response"]; oRequest = (Interop_ASP.Request)objContext["Request"]; oSession works to store local information to.from ASP storage oResponse can do simple writes to the browser BUT any code like oRequest.Cookies["sessionId"] or oResponse.Cookies["sessionId"] doesn't provide any sort of read or write access. Any cast or conversion I trry to do tells me I'm dealing with an empty or null System Object. There doesn't seem to be any sort of syntax to get/set the cookie collection. With COM+ I've seesn soem articles that indcate a switch for Access to ASP Intrinsic Objects -- that seesm to describe my issue, but I'd rather not use COM+. There are also some articles that indicate if I was using ASP.NET I could use HttpContext and HttpRequest/Response, but that's a completely different set of data objects that don't seem to be available with classic ASP. I've been stuck on this fopr a few days. Any help appreciated.

  • asp.net controls vs html element security?

    - by Eyla
In general, If I have a choice when developing a web site to use html elements or asp.net controls which one is better to use if my website is interactive with server side operations such as accessing database. Is it more secure to use asp.net controls or does not matter. On other words, is it more secure to use asp.net controls instead of html element to deliver data or receive data from/to server side or no differences?

    - by EasyDot
Hello! Im trying to create a new ASP.NET website and add it to my subversion repository but it does not work because subversion only add the C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\WebApplication1 folder and ignores the project files located in C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\WebSites folder. Why can't I add a ASP.NET website to Subversion like WindowsFormsApplications? How shall i add a ASP.NET website to Subversion repository?

  • asp.net mvc post variable to controller

    - by Erwin
Hello fellow programmer I came from PHP language(codeigniter), but now I learning ASP.Net MVC :) In PHP codeigniter we can catch the post variable easily with $this->input->post("theinput"); I know that in ASP.Net MVC we can create an action method that will accepts variable from post request like this public ActionResult Edit(string theinput) Or by public ActionResult Edit(FormCollection formCol) Is there a way to catch post variable in ASP.Net like PHP's codeigniter, so that we don't have to write FormCollection object nor have to write parameter in the action method (because it can get very crowded there if we pass many variable into it) Is there a simple getter method from ASP.Net to catch these post variables?

  • doofus ASP.Net master page scrollbar question

    - by Stephen Falken
    Like happens to all of us sometimes, I inherited some crappy code I have to fix. We need to center our pages on widescreen machines, so we have a master page layout div like so: .MasterLayout { width:1100px; height: 100%; position:absolute; left:50%; margin-left:-550px; vertical-align:top; } I removed most of the detailed attributes for readability here, but here's how the table for the master page is laid out: <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="width: 100%;"> <tr> <td style="width: 100%" align="center" colspan="2"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" style="height: 20px; background-color: #333;"> <asp:SiteMapPath/> </td> </tr> <tr> <td style="width: 86px; height: 650px; background-color: #B5C7DE; margin: 6px;" valign="top"> <asp:Menu /> <asp:SiteMapDataSource /> </td> <td style="background-color:#ffffff; margin:5px; width:1000px;" valign="top"> <asp:contentplaceholder id="ContentPlaceHolder1" runat="server"/> </td> </tr> </table> When resizing the browser window, the horizontal scrollbar only reaches as far as the left edge of the <asp:contentplaceholder/> control, and the <asp:menu/> that's in the 86px wide <td> is hidden. How can I fix this problem? THANKS IN ADVANCE

  • Crystal Reports in ASP.NET MVC

    - by Odd
I know the use of server-side controls is a no-no in ASP.NET MVC, however we have a long list of crystal reports that the company has already produced for a previous application that I would like to utilize for our new ASP.NET MVC application. Is there an appropriate way to use crystal reports in ASP.NET MVC? If so, how?

  • Conditional required field validation in an ASP.net ListView

    - by Jim Dagg
I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to implement validation in a ListView. The goal is to require the user to enter text in the comments TextBox, but only if the CheckBox is checked. Downside is that these controls are in the EditTemplate of a ListView. Below is a snippet of the relevant code portion of the EditTemplate: <tr style="background-color: #00CCCC; color: #000000"> <td> Assume Risk? <asp:CheckBox ID="chkWaive" runat="server" Checked='<%# Bind("Waive") %>' /> </td> <td colspan="5"> <asp:RequiredFieldValidator ID="RequiredFieldValidator1" runat="server" ErrorMessage="Comments required" ControlToValidate="txtComments" /> <asp:TextBox Width="95%" ID="txtComments" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("Comment") %>'></asp:TextBox> </td> <td> <asp:Button ID="btnSave" runat="server" Text="Save" CommandName="Update" Width="100px" /> </td> </tr> Is there a way to do conditional validation using this method? If not, is there a way I could validate manually in the ItemUpdating event of the Listview, or somewhere else, and on a failure, alert the user of the error via a label or popup alert?

  • Adding custom valiadtion to ASP.NET controls

    - by Brian
We're trying to build a simple asp control for some clients where they can just drop in a single block - i.e. <captcha:CaptchaControl ID="CaptchaControl1" runat="server" Server="http://localhost:51947/" /> and have it render the control. The catch is that I can't get this to include custom validation. Right now I'm using the RenderContents function to display the layout of the control itself as well as hook it up the to Javascript. The problem is that I don't know how to get custom validation to fire when used as part of a control. protected override void RenderContents(HtmlTextWriter output) { output.Write(@" <script type=""text/javascript"" src=""http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3/jquery.min.js""></script> <link rel=""stylesheet"" type=""text/css"" href=""/Layout/CaptchaLayout.css"" /> //etc <asp:Textbox id=""text1"" runat=""server"" text=""""></asp:Textbox> <asp:CustomValidator id=""CustomValidator2"" runat=""server"" ControlToValidate = ""text1"" ErrorMessage = ""You must enter at least 8 characters!"" ClientValidationFunction=""validateLength"" > </asp:CustomValidator>" ); } Any suggestions for a better way to do this?

  • update datagridview using ajax in my asp.net without refreshing the page.(Display real time data)

    - by kurt_jackson19
I need to display a real time data from MS SQL 2005. I saw some blogs that recommend Ajax to solve my problem. Basically, right now I have my default.aspx page only just for a workaround I could able to display the data from my DB. But once I add data manually to my DB there's no updating made. Any suggestions guys to fix this problem? I need to update datagridview with out refreshing the page. Here's my code on Default.aspx.cs using System; using System.Data; using System.Configuration; using System.Web; using System.Web.Security; using System.Web.UI; using System.Web.UI.WebControls; using System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts; using System.Web.UI.HtmlControls; using System.Data.SqlClient; public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { FillDataGridView(); } protected void up1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { FillDataGridView(); } protected void FillDataGridView() { DataSet objDs = new DataSet(); SqlConnection myConnection = new SqlConnection (ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["MainConnStr"].ConnectionString); SqlDataAdapter myCommand; string select = "SELECT * FROM Categories"; myCommand = new SqlDataAdapter(select, myConnection); myCommand.SelectCommand.CommandType = CommandType.Text; myConnection.Open(); myCommand.Fill(objDs); GridView1.DataSource = objDs; GridView1.DataBind(); } } Code on my Default.aspx <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head runat="server"> <title>Ajax Sample</title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server" EnablePageMethods="true"> <Scripts> <asp:ScriptReference Path="JScript.js" /> </Scripts> </asp:ScriptManager> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server" OnLoad="up1_Load"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server" Height="136px" Width="325px"/> </ContentTemplate> <Triggers> <asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="GridView1" /> </Triggers> </asp:UpdatePanel> </form> </body> </html> My problem now is how to call or use the ajax.js and how to write a code to call the FillDataGridView() in my Default.aspx.cs page. Thank you guys, hope anyone can help me on this problem.

  • Registry access error when Migrating ASP.NET application to IIS7

    - by fande455
I'm running windows 7 64-bit and iis7. I'm trying to setup a web application that was previously in iis6 on XP. It's giving me the error below. I've added the network service user to the Performance Monitor Users group to no avail. Access to the registry key 'Global' is denied. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the registry key 'Global' is denied. ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request identity. ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}\ASPNET on IIS 5 or Network Service on IIS 6) that is used if the application is not impersonating. If the application is impersonating via , the identity will be the anonymous user (typically IUSR_MACHINENAME) or the authenticated request user. To grant ASP.NET access to a file, right-click the file in Explorer, choose "Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account, and check the boxes for the desired access.

  • Using Office 2010 web apps with ASP.NET

    - by Martin de Ruiter
Would it be possible to use the Office 2010 web apps with an ASP.NET application? For example: - For each user of my ASP.NET application there is a folder with Word documents on my server - The ASP.NET application displays the available documents in a grid to the user - When clicking on one of the documents in the grid, the Word document is loaded in an IFrame which contains the Office 2010 web apps Word interface and editing of the document can take place - After editing, the document can be saved to the server, and the ASP.NET grid displays an updated status Would such a scenario be possible? And what do you need, e.g. Sharepoint, Office 2010 licenses?
