  • Evaluating Javascript Arrays

    I have an array that contains an array of arrays if that makes any sense. so for example: [[1, 2, 3], [2, 3, 4], [3, 4, 5], [4, 5, 6]] I want to see whether an array exists withing the array, so if [1, 2, 3] is duplicated at all. I have tried to use the .indexOf method but it does find the duplicate. I have also tried Extjs to loop through the array manually and to evaluate each inner array, this is how I did it: var arrayToSearch = [[1, 2, 3], [2, 3, 4], [3, 4, 5], [4, 5, 6]]; var newArray = [1, 2, 3]; Ext.each(arrayToSearch, function(entry, index){ console.log(newArray, entry); if(newArray == entry){ console.log(index); }; }); This also does not detect the duplicate. the console.log will output [1, 2, 3] and [1, 2, 3] but will not recognize them as equal. I have also tried the === evaluator but obviously since == doesn't work the === wont work. I am at wits end, any suggestions.

    Hi, I am trying to update a table based on a json request. The first update / draw works fine - but any subsequent changes to the variables (the start and end date) do not show up - even though the json pulled from the server seems to be correct (according to firebug). AFAIK the code below should re-initialize everything - no sure what is going on (I'm using the Google vizulization api)? function handleQueryResponse(response) { if (response.isError()) { //alert('Error in query: ' + response.getMessage() + ' ' + response.getDetailedMessage()); return; } visualization = new google.visualization.Table(document.getElementById('visualization')); visualization.draw(response.getDataTable(), null); } One more thing: I'm working on a page that displays textbased tables and currently trying to decide between the google table (viz api) and a jQuery alternative I came across jqGrid any good ones I am missing?

  • Javascript Function for related select elements onSubmit

    I am trying to create (4) Select elements within a form element. Each select element has a different number of options. So if a user click one option on Select #1 and then click another option on Select #2, after hitting submit they will be taken to www.blah.com/option1/option2 page which will display the filtered results. Or they can chose an option from all 4 select menus and be taken to option1/option2/option3/option4 page. The categories are all related .Select #1 is a category, Select #2 is a subcategory of 1, Select #3 is a subcategory of #2 and Select #4 is a subcategory of #3. A great example would be on (LINK) http://www.safavieh.com/rugs (LINK) except only four Select elements. I would also like to add the "Reset" button next to "Submit." I know I need to construct a function in my header and use onSubmit attribute within the form but other than that I am unsure of what's involved so I'm hoping someone could point me in the right direction.   • Scroll to a text position in Javascript

    I have a real-time HTML editor, with a textarea on the left for code entry, and a 'preview' DIV on the right to contain the preview of the code entered. At the moment, when editing the code in the left pane, the preview just sits where it is, so often the part of the code you're editing is not in the visible area of the preview (especially when images are involved). My question is how do I make the preview scroll to show the part of the code that's currently being edited? Here is the page I have so far: http://www.caerphoto.com/rtedit.html You'll notice in the source I have a (currently unused) matchPreview() function that tries to match the scroll position of the preview based on the scroll position of the textarea, but obviously if images or large text are involved the two panes no longer match.

  • Safari javascript cookie issue

    I've hit a bit of a weird issue in Safari in regards to setting a js cookie. The cookie itself is just a rgb colour value, which gets set using .click(), and is working fine in Chrome and Firefox, yet in Safari the value of the cookie is incomplete, showing up as rgb(193 instead of rgb(193, 184, 76) as the other browsers do.     I am working on a web page that uses dojo and has a number (6 in my test case, but variable in general) of project widgets on it. I'm invoking dojo.addOnLoad(init), and in my init() function I have these lines: dojo.connect(dijit.byId("project" + 0).InputNode, "onChange", function() {makeMatch(0);}); dojo.connect(dijit.byId("project" + 1).InputNode, "onChange", function() {makeMatch(1);}); dojo.connect(dijit.byId("project" + 2).InputNode, "onChange", function() {makeMatch(2);}); dojo.connect(dijit.byId("project" + 3).InputNode, "onChange", function() {makeMatch(3);}); dojo.connect(dijit.byId("project" + 4).InputNode, "onChange", function() {makeMatch(4);}); dojo.connect(dijit.byId("project" + 5).InputNode, "onChange", function() {makeMatch(5);}); and change events for my project widgets properly invoke the makeMatch function. But if I replace them with a loop: for (var i = 0; i < 6; i++) dojo.connect(dijit.byId("project" + i).InputNode, "onChange", function() {makeMatch(i);}); same makeMatch() function, same init() invocation, same everything else - just rolling my calls up into a loop - the makeMatch function is never called; the objects are not wired. What's going on, and how do I fix it? I've tried using dojo.query, but its behavior is the same as the for loop case.

    Is there a way to get a list of the exposed functions from a Flash object? For example, you could get a list of all methods in an object by executing: for (var i in object) { if (typeof object[i] == "function") { console.log(i); } } The only issue is that this won't expose any methods registered through the ExternalInterfaces API. I can try and see if the function exists (object['method']) and it tells me it is a function, but I would have to guess every existing method in this manner. NOTE: Obviously, I don't have access to the actionscript.

    I have created a table with draggable rows. Unfortunately, most of the rows are covered with a large textbox input element. In order to drag the rows, you have to grab the row on the very edge just outside of the textbox. Is there a way to allow the rows to be grabbed through the textboxes without destroying the textbox functionality? (i.e. relay the mouse drag event, but not the mouseclick event?)
