  • Dynamic SQL to query an Adventureworks table

    - by salvationishere
I am trying to see a list of tables from Adventureworks DB from "Person" schema in Sql Server 2008. I developed teh following SP, but after running it as follows it gives me error "Incorrect syntax near ')'". Do you know how I can revise this SP or exec statement? CREATE PROCEDURE [getTableNames] @SchemaName VARCHAR(50) AS BEGIN SET NOCOUNT ON; SET @SchemaName = 'PERSON' DECLARE @cmd AS VARCHAR(max) SET @SchemaName = RTRIM(@SchemaName) SET @cmd = N'SELECT TABLE_NAME ' + 'FROM information_schema.Tables ' + 'WHERE TABLE_TYPE = ''BASE TABLE'' AND TABLE_SCHEMA = @SchemaName' END exec sp_executesql getTableNames, N'@SchemaName NVARCHAR(50), @SchemaName'

  • jquery to check if returned data object is empty

    - by user253530
$("#post").live("click",function() { $("input:checkbox[name='bookmarkid']:checked").each(function() { $.post("php/socialbookmark-post.php", {bookmarkID: $(this).val()},function(data) { if(data != "") alert(data); }); }); }); the php file outputs some text only if something goes wrong. The checking that I do fails if the data is empty and displays an empty message. I need to fix this. Any ideas?

  • Try-Catch or Check Length? C# XNA

    - by Shaded
I was just wondering which would be cheaper, using a try catch block for index out of bounds or checking the length of a multi dimensional array and comparing values? I have a feeling it's the length, since I can store the length in a variable and then just do if's which are relatively cheap. I'm just not sure how expensive try-catch is. Thanks!

  • HttpSendRequest not getting latest file from server

    - by Doug Kavendek
I am having an issue with my HTTP requests in my app, such that if the remote file is the same size as the local file (even though its modified time is different, as its contents have been changed), attempts to download it return quickly and the newer file is not downloaded. In short, the process I am following is: Setting up an HTTP connection with the INTERNET_FLAG_RESYNCHRONIZE flag and calling HttpSendRequest(); then checking the HTTP status code and finding it to be "200". If the remote file is updated, but remains the same size as the local copy: The local file is unchanged after running the app. If I call HttpQueryInfo() with HTTP_QUERY_LAST_MODIFIED after sending the request, it gives me the actual last modified time of the server's file, which I can see is different from the local file I am trying to have it overwrite. If the remote file is updated, and the file size becomes different from the local copy: It is downloaded and overwrites the local copy as expected. Here's a fairly abridged version of the code, to cut out helpers and error checking: // szAppName = our app name HINTERNET hInternetHandle = InternetOpen( szAppName, INTERNET_OPEN_TYPE_PRECONFIG, NULL, NULL, 0 ); // szServerName = our server name hInternetHandle = InternetConnect( hInternetHandle, szServerName, INTERNET_DEFAULT_HTTP_PORT, NULL, NULL, INTERNET_SERVICE_HTTP, NULL, 0 ); // szPath = the file to download LPCSTR aszDefault[2] = { "*/*", NULL }; DWORD dwFlags = 0 | INTERNET_FLAG_IGNORE_REDIRECT_TO_HTTP | INTERNET_FLAG_IGNORE_REDIRECT_TO_HTTPS | INTERNET_FLAG_KEEP_CONNECTION | INTERNET_FLAG_NO_AUTH | INTERNET_FLAG_NO_AUTO_REDIRECT | INTERNET_FLAG_NO_COOKIES | INTERNET_FLAG_NO_UI | INTERNET_FLAG_RESYNCHRONIZE; HINTERNET hHandle = HttpOpenRequest( hInternetHandle, "GET", szPath, NULL, NULL, aszDefault, dwFlags, 0 ); DWORD dwTimeOut = 10 * 1000; // In milliseconds InternetSetOption( hInternetHandle, INTERNET_OPTION_CONNECT_TIMEOUT, &dwTimeOut, sizeof( dwTimeOut ) ); InternetSetOption( hInternetHandle, INTERNET_OPTION_RECEIVE_TIMEOUT, &dwTimeOut, sizeof( dwTimeOut ) ); InternetSetOption( hInternetHandle, INTERNET_OPTION_SEND_TIMEOUT, &dwTimeOut, sizeof( dwTimeOut ) ); DWORD dwRetries = 5; InternetSetOption( hInternetHandle, INTERNET_OPTION_CONNECT_RETRIES, &dwRetries, sizeof( dwRetries ) ); HttpSendRequest( hInternetHandle, NULL, 0, NULL, 0 ); Since I have found I can query the remote file's last modified time, and find it to be accurate, I know it's actually getting to the server. I thought that specifying INTERNET_FLAG_RESYNCHRONIZE would force the file to resynch if it's out of date. Do I have it all wrong? Is this just how it's supposed to work?

  • Titanium vs The Native Tools

    - by Elfira
Hi, I'm still checking everything out. I'm wondering what the limitations are if we develop the app using Titanium. What cannot be done using Titanium, for iPhone and for Android? What things can only be done using only the the native tools? I heard that performance could be an issue. How bad is this going to be? Thank you in advance. :)

  • Make HTML content area fit to viewport height?

    - by viatropos
I just made this demo extracting out what I'm trying to accomplish: Autosize Main Content Area I want the pink/yellow area to act according to these rules: Minimum height is the size of its content (which is variable) IF content size is smaller than viewport size Otherwise minimum height is such that it adjusts to fill the window. Checking out the source to that demo, what am I missing? I feel like this is a pretty easy case that shouldn't require javascript. Any ideas?

  • Handling national language prefix for checkconstraints

    - by Chris Chilvers
I'm trying to create a check constraint such as CHECK Type IN (N'Create', N'Remove') for an enumeration's value. Sqlite complains about this syntax and only accepts CHECK Type IN ('Create', 'Remove'). The main database will be Sql Server 2005, but I use sqlite's in memory database for unit tests. Is there any way to get sqlite to recognise the national language (N) prefix? Alternatively, is there an easy way when using FluentNHibernate to adapt an nvarchar constant to match the database's dialect?

  • Which's the best way to protect primary key on ASP.NET MVC?

    - by Junior Mayhé
I'm creating a ASP.NET MVC website and I was wandering which techniques do you guys use to protect primary key on these mvc urls. Actually ASP.NET MVC generates this syntax for its urls: /Controller/Action/Id Last week I was trying to encrypt it using SHA-1 Encryption, but this encrypter generates some special symbols like + (plus), / (slash), and other annoying chars which difficult the decryption. Perhaps creating a custom encryption should solve the problem. But I wanna here from you guys, do you have some ideas to protect mvc urls?

  • hibernate sybase db power function

    - by Vipin Thomas
We are trying to use sybase function power to do mathematical calculation for one of the DB columns. The hibernate is generating power function as pow(?, xyzo0_.AmtScale) whereas sybase supports power function as Syntax POWER( numeric-expression-1, numeric-expression-2 ) We have tried modifying the hibernate.dialect. Have tried org.hibernate.dialect.SybaseASE15Dialect org.hibernate.dialect.Sybase11Dialect org.hibernate.dialect.SybaseAnywhereDialect but all dialects generate the power function as pow(?, xyzo0_.AmtScale). Is this hibernate issue or are we missing something?

  • What is your favorite pastime to engage in while your project is buidling?

    - by ondesertverge
As my average project grows in size the sum of build times throughout the day (and night) adds up to a substantial amount of time. Some of the things I or others do in this time include: Reading the news Thinking of ways to advance the project Looking at other projects Throwing darts Checking the unanswered list on stackoverflow.com Build times aren't constant making it hard to plan constructive use of them. I would like to hear of a method in use to make beneficial use of those few minutes that can add up to a few hours.

  • What's the different between these 2 mysql queries? one using left join

    - by Lyon
Hi, I see people using LEFT JOIN in their mysql queries to fetch data from two tables. But I normally do it without left join. Is there any differences besides the syntax, e.g. performance? Here's my normal query style: SELECT * FROM table1 as tbl1, table2 as tbl2 WHERE tbl1.id=tbl2.table_id as compared to SELECT * FROM table1 as tbl1 LEFT JOIN table2 as tbl2 on tbl1.id=tbl2.id Personally I prefer the first style...hmm..

  • How do I access the TFS workspace of an employee that has quit to review/check in some of the change

    - by Fadeproof
One of my co-workers has resigned and was made to leave the premises before checking in all of his code to TFS. I have access to the physical files. Is there a way for me to access his workspace and check in some of the changes that are still left unchecked in? From tfs I can see which files he has checked out but no way of seeing the exact changes unless very manually.
