• Allow user to execute a shell script without seeing its contents?

  I'd like to have an hg hook that sends email using a gmail account. Obviously I don't want anyone to be able read the email-sending script except me or root, since it has a password in, so here's what I've tried: -rwsr-xr-x 1 james james 58 Feb 18 12:05 incoming.email.sh -rwx--x--x 1 james james 262 Feb 18 12:04 send-incoming-email.sh where incoming.email.sh is the file executed as the hook: #! /bin/bash /path/to/send-incoming-email.sh However, when I try to run as another user I get the error: /bin/bash: /path/to/send-incoming-email.sh: Permission denied The send-incoming-email.sh file works fine when I run as myself. Is what I'm trying to do possible, or will setuid not propagate to commands executed from a shell script? System is Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS.

It looks like "Itisserverfault". Nevertheless, my sent items folder shows properly formatted emails. What should i do the fix this issue?

Currently they are on an owned email server and I am collecting emails via IMAP protocol (i would not like to use POP..) in Thunderbird. I have a few partners and I want to allow them to access the same email address. Here is what I desired: All users can open All the inboxes via IMAP @ Thunderbird (with proper configuration) at the same time, there are a webmail system, every user can login their account (userA, userB, userC), and they will see all inboxes (email@domain1, email@domain2, email@domain3) Would you recommend any suite that fits my needs? Either (a system to be installed on my server) or (a remote service where I need to config MX records) will do. Thank you.

• Forward emails from specific domain in Exchange

  Our Exchange server handles emails for @ourdomain.com (for example). We have multiple clients that will send emails to our [email protected] email address and we want to configure server-side rules that will forward emails from each client's domain to a different email address within our exchange server. For example: [email protected] sends an email to [email protected] and we forward it to [email protected] [email protected] sends an email to [email protected] and we forward it to [email protected] ...and so on. It would be nice if we can additionally stop the email arriving in the [email protected] mailbox, but that is not a specific requirement. We have a rule setup in Outlook that sort of works, but it doesn't do all from a domain only specific email addresses. It does work when Outlook is not running which is a start. I realise it would be easier to give each client a partiuclar email address and have them email straight to that rather than all use the same, but this is what I have been asked to setup.... :S

• Mac Outlook showing all links in smart quotes?

  I was given the task of fixing my friend's email today and really don't know what the problem is. When an email is sent from his laptop (Mac) from Outlook the email address link in the signature shows exactly like this: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>. Additionally the website link displays like this: www.website.com<http://www.website.com>. And lastly, the image comes through as cid:randomstringofnumbers. When I sent him an email and he sent one back it converted my signature to same weird formatting. Plus, even in the header where it shows our emails, they are displaying the same way: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>. And the weirdest thing is that this problem seems to be "compounding". So when I scroll down to the last, most recent email in the thread I see this www.website.com<http://www.website.com> next email shows this: www.website.com<http://www.website.com><http://www.website.com> and the next this: www.website.com<http://www.website.com><http://www.website.com><http://www.website.com> This is happening to the emails too, everywhere. I'm thinking this might be something to do with smart quotes and the auto formatting but I'm not sure. Could this be the problem? And if so how do I fix it?

Subscriber may have different attribute : email phone fax .... For each list, their setting is different , so a require_attribute table is introduced. It is a bridge between subscriber and List That store Listid ,subid , attribute, datatype That means the system have a lot of list, each user have their own list, and the list have different attribute, some list have email , phone , some may have phone, address, name mail.. And the datatype is different, some may use 'name' as integer , some may use 'name' as varchar attribute means email phone, it is to define for which list have which subscriber attribute datatype means for each attribute, what is its datatype Table :subscriber : Field :subid , name,email Table :Require Attribute: Field : Listid ,subid , attribute, datatype The attribute here is {name, email} So a simple data is Subscriber: 1 , MYname, Myemail Require Attribute : Listid , 1 , 'email', 'intger' Listid , 1 , 'name', 'varchar' I found that this kind of storage is too complex too handle with, Since the subscriber is share to every body, so if a person want to change the datatype of name, it will also affect the data of the other user.   I'll give an example of one that I've noticed: the number of web sites that ask for your email address (GOOG ID, YAHOO! ID, etc.) has skyrocketed. I can come up with no legitimate reason for this other than (1) password reset [other ways to do this], or (2) to remind you that you have an account there, based upon the time of your last visit. Why does a web site need to know your email address (Google ID, etc.) if all you want to do is... download a file (no legit reason whatsoever) play a game (no legit reason whatsoever) take an IQ test or search a database (no legit reason whatsoever) watch a video or view a picture (no legit reason whatsoever) read a forum (no legit reason whatsoever) post on a forum (mildly legit reason: password reset) newsletter (only difference between a newsletter and a blog is that you're more likely to forget about the web site than you are to forget about your email address -- the majority of web sites do not send out newsletters, however, so this can't be the justification) post twitter messages or other instant messaging (mildly legit reason: password reset) buy something (mildly legit reasons: password reset + giving you a copy of a receipt that they can't delete, as receipts stored on their server can be deleted) On the other hand, I can think of plenty of very shady reasons for asking for this information: so the NSA, CIA, FBI, etc. can very easily track what you do by reading your email or asking GOOG, etc. what sites you used your GOOG ID at to use the password that you provide for your account in order to get into your email account (most people use the same password for all of their accounts), find all of your other accounts in your inbox, and then get into all of those accounts sell your email address to spammers These reasons, I believe, are why you are constantly asked to provide your email address. I can come up with no other explanations whatsoever. Question 1: Can anyone think of any legitimate or illegitimate reasons for asking for someone's email address? Question 2: What are some other interesting internet trends of the past ~10 years?

• Cisco Unified Communication integration for Microsoft Lync crashes on Remote Desktop services 2008 R2!

  this is the 1st time to write here and the 1st time to use a mail client other than outlook. I tried to add my enterprise email address to evolution mail, I tried both server types exchange mapi and microsoft exchange. With exchange mapi i get this error message "Authentication failed. MapiLogonProvider: Failed to login into the server" With Microsoft Exchange I get this error "Could not connect to server . Make sure the URL is correct and try again." Although I'm sure of all the steps Server: ip address of the mail server Username: Domainname\Username Domain: domain name My system is Ubuntu Release 11.04 (natty) Kernel Linux 2.6.38-15-generic Genome 2.32.1 Evolution 2.32.2 Any kind of help is appreciated and thanks in advance

  In a JSP I have the following field: <stripes:text name="email"/> This field is in my action bean(snippet): public class CreateClaim implements ActionBean { private String email; public void setEmail(String email) { this.email = email; } public String getEmail() { return email; } public Resolution alc(){ email = "poodle"; return new ForwardResolution("aForward.jsp"); } } In the alc() methos I am setting email to be null. But when the pages renders the value of the email field is exactly as it was entered originally. Is there a way of clearing this field once and event has triggered? Cheers Dave

When using {{ form.email }} in case of some validation error, django still renders the previous value in the input tag's value attribute: <input type="text" id="id_email" maxlength="75" class="required" value="[email protected]" name="email"> I want to render the input tag myself (to add some javascript code and an error class in case of an error). For example this is my template instead of {{ form.email }}: <input type="text" autocomplete="on" id="id_email" name="email" class="email {% if form.email.errors %}error{% endif %}"> However this does not display the errorneous value ("[email protected]" in this example) to the user. How do I get the field's value in the template?

  Django newbie here. I wrote simplified login form which takes email and password. It works great if both email and password are supplied, but if either is missing i get KeyError exception. According to django documentation this should never happen: By default, each Field class assumes the value is required, so if you pass an empty value -- either None or the empty string ("") -- then clean() will raise a ValidationError exception I tried to write my own validators for fields (clean_email and clean_password), but it doesn't work (ie I get KeyError exception).   Hi guys, I have an issue with a query I'm trying to run on some data, I guess the place to start is to describe the data. Ok so I have a list of email addresses, each email address has a unique ID and an account ID Also in my tables I have a set number which auto incrememnts, this will allow me to target duplicate email addresses What I need to do is something like this. Insert into duplicates (EMAIL,ACCOUNTID,ID) SELECT Email,AccountID,ID FROM EmailAddresses Group by Email,AccountID Having Count(email)>1 Order by AccountID, Email So essentially I want to select all duplicate email addresses and insert them (and their relative fields) into a new table broken down by accountID so I can run some further querys on it. I have been battling with this for way too long and could just use a fresh perspective. Cheers in advance

I am not sure of the right way to do this in ConEmu. I am using the following Command (which works but obviously not as Admin): cmd.exe /k ""C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\VC\vcvarsall.bat"" x86 What is the correct way to configure ConEmu to run this as Administrator?
