  • Jquery removeClass Not Working

    Hey, My site is here: http://treethink.com What I have going is a news ticker on the right that is inside a jquery function. The function starts right away and extracts the news ticker and then retracts it as it should. When a navigation it adds a class to the div, which the function then checks for to see if it should stop extracting/retracting. This all works great. The problem I am having is that after the close button is clicked (in the content window), the removeClass won't work. This means that it keeps thinking the window is open and therefore the conditional statement inside the function won't let it extract and retract again. With a simple firebug check, it's showing that the class isn't being removed period. It's not the cboxClose id that it's not finding because I tried changing that to just "a" tags in general and it still wouldn't work so it's something to do with the jQuery for sure. Someone also suggested a quick alert() to check if the callback is working but I'm not sure what this is.     I have a function that makes a series of calls to sscanf() and then, after each, updates the string pointer to point to the first character not consumed by sscanf() like so: if(sscanf(str, "%d%n", &fooInt, &length) != 1) { // error handling } str+=length; In order to clean it up and avoid duplicating this several times over, i'd like to encapsulate this into a nice utility function that looks something like the following: int newSscanf ( char ** str, const char * format, ...) { int rv; int length; char buf[MAX_LENGTH]; va_list args; strcpy(buf, format); strcat(buf, "%n"); va_start(args, format); rv = vsscanf(*str, buf, args, &length); va_end(args); *str += length; return rv; } Then I could simply the calls as below to remove the additional parameter/bookkeeping: if(newSscanf(&str, "%d", &fooInt) != 1) { // error handling } Unfortunately, I can't find a way to append the &length parameter onto the end of the arg list directly or otherwise inside newSscanf(). Is there some way to work around this, or am I just as well off handling the bookkeeping by hand at each call?

  • Keyboard Animation Issues When Calling becomeFirstResponder within a Modal View Controller

    I've been having some issues with calling -becomeFirstResponder on a UITextField contained with a view controller that is presented modally. I call this method in the modal view controller's -viewDidLoad method so that the keyboard is immediately displayed. What I expected is for both the keyboard and the modal view controller to animate from up the bottom of the screen at the same time. However, what I'm observing is the following: There is a ~0.2 second UI lag between clicking the button that calls the -presentModalViewController:animated: method on the parent view controller and when the child view controller begins to animate modally. The keyboard is immediately presented with absolutely no animation about half-way through the modal view controller's animation. Once the modal view controller's animation is complete, everything else seems to operate smoothly. Dismissing the modal view controller results in it being smoothly animated off screen (along with the keyboard, coincidentally). It's as if the keyboard's animation and the modal view controller's animation are both competing for some lower-level Core Animation resource at the same time, but I don't see why this should be happening. What further seems to corroborate this hunch is if I don't ask the UITextField to become the first responder (i.e., if I don't ask the keyboard to present itself), then there is absolutely no UI lag, and the modal view controller animates instantly. Interestingly, if I do something like [self.textField performSelector:@selector(becomeFirstResponder) withObject:nil afterDelay:0.0001]; then the animation of the keyboard happens nearly at the same time as the modal view controller's animation -- it's extremely difficult to tell that they aren't both being animated at the exact same time. Furthermore, there's no more UI lag. Has anyone experienced anything similar to this?

    We have a third-party DLL that can operate on a DataTable of source information and generate some useful values, and we're trying to hook it up through SQLCLR to be callable as a table-valued UDF in SQL Server 2008. Taking the concept here one step further, I would like to program a CLR Table-Valued Function that operates on a table of source data from the DB. I'm pretty sure I understand what needs to happen on the T-SQL side of things; but, what should the method signature look like in the .NET (C#) code?     Hi, I am trying my hardest to find the simplest way to create a basic "model first" entity framework example. However I am struggling with the actually generation of the database, particularly the running of the SQL against the database. Tools Visual Studio 2010 SQL Server 2008 Express Process Create a new class project Add a new Server-Database item (mdf) named "Database1.mdf" to the project Add an empty ADO.net Entity Model Create a simple entity (Person: Id, Name) Generate the Script selecting the Database1 connection created for me by visual studio Right click the script editor and select the "Execute SQL..." option Log in to SQLEXPRESS This is where is falls over saying it cant find a database name "Database1". The "problem" is that the SQL server has not had Database1 attached to it. I am 100% positive that Visual Studio use to attach a database to SQLExpress when it created a new database (Step 2). This appears to not be the case any more (even the beta of VS2010 did it). Can someone confirm this? or tell me how to get this to happen? Is there a way that I can modify the TSQL script to use an un-attached database. ie a file. I know I can use SQL Management Studio or sqlcmd to attach the database, but I would ideally like to avoid the solutions as I would like to see the cleanest method of just using visual studio. Ideal Solutions (in order of most prefered) Get visual studio to attach the newly created database Modify the generated SQL to point to file Thanks in advance.

  • javascript scope problem when lambda function refers to a variable in enclosing loop

    First question on stackoverflow :) Hope I won't embarrass myself... I have a javascript function that loads a list of albums and then it creates a list item for each album. The list item should be clickable, so I call jQuery's click() with a function that does stuff. I do this in a loop. My problem is that all items seem to get the same click function, even though I try to make a new one that does different stuff in each iteration. Another possibility is that the iteration variable is global somehow, and the function refers to it. Code below. debug() is just an encapsulation of Firebug's console.debug(). function processAlbumList(data, c) { for (var album in data) { var newAlbum = $('<li class="albumLoader">' + data[album].title + '</li>').clone(); var clickAlbum = function() { debug("contents: " + album); }; debug("Album: " + album + "/" + data[album].title); $('.albumlist').append(newAlbum); $(newAlbum).click(clickAlbum); } } Here is a transcript of what it prints when the above function runs, after that are some debug lines caused by me clicking on different items. It always prints "10", which is the last value that the album variable takes (there are 10 albums). It looks like this: function findRelations(members){ var wires = new Array(); var count = 0; for (n = 0; n < members.length; n++){ alert(members.length); // this alert is undefined if (members[n].connection){ for (i = 0; i < members[n].connection[0].length; i++){ var mw = new Array(); var destination = 0; for (m = 0; m < members.length; m ++){ if (members[m] == members[n].connection[0]){ destination = m; mw = [n, destination]; wires [count] = mw; count++; } } } } } return wires; } However, when I run this function, I get nothing. And the first alert, which is placed inside the function shows 'undefined' at all. findRelations(members); alert("Found " + wires.length + " connections"); I guess that's because of JavaScript literal. Could you suggest how to change a function or perhaps to change litteral to JSON array to get it work?! And at the end to get 'm' and 'n' values as numbers.

  • Creating a Function in SQL Server with a Phone Number as a parameter and returns a Random Number

    Hi Guys, I am hoping someone can help me here as google is not being as forthcoming as I would have liked. I am relatively new to SQL Server and so this is the first function I have set myself to do. The outline of the function is that it has a Phone number varchar(15) as a parameter, it checks that this number is a proper number, i.e. it is 8 digits long and contains only numbers. The main character I am trying to avoid is '+'. Good Number = 12345678 Bad Number = +12345678. Once the number is checked I would like to produce a random number for each phone number that is passed in. I have looked at substrings, the like operator, Rand(), left(), Right() in order to search through the number and then produce a random number. I understand that Rand() will produce the same random number unless alterations are done to it but right now it is about actually getting some working code. Any hints on this would be great or even point me towards some more documentation. I have read books online and they haven't helped me, maybe I am not looking in the right places.   • Is there a practical benefit to casting a NULL pointer to an object and calling one of its member fu

    Ok, so I know that technically this is undefined behavior, but nonetheless, I've seen this more than once in production code. And please correct me if I'm wrong, but I've also heard that some people use this "feature" as a somewhat legitimate substitute of a lacking aspect of the current C++ standard, namely, the inability to obtain the address (well, offset really) of a member function. For example, this is out of a popular implementation of a PCRE (Perl-compatible Regular Expression) library: #ifndef offsetof #define offsetof(p_type,field) ((size_t)&(((p_type *)0)->field)) #endif One can debate whether the exploitation of such a language subtlety in a case like this is valid or not, or even necessary, but I've also seen it used like this: struct Result { void stat() { if(this) // do something... else // do something else... } }; // ...somewhere else in the code... ((Result*)0)->stat(); This works just fine! It avoids a null pointer dereference by testing for the existence of this, and it does not try to access class members in the else block. So long as these guards are in place, it's legitimate code, right? So the question remains: Is there a practical use case, where one would benefit from using such a construct? I'm especially concerned about the second case, since the first case is more of a workaround for a language limitation. Or is it? PS. Sorry about the C-style casts, unfortunately people still prefer to type less if they can.

    Hey, I have been trying to get this pagination class that I am using to be more ajaxy - meaning when I click on the page number like page [2] the data loads, but I want to load in the data without going to a different page (HTTP request in the background, with no page reloads). Being new to both php and jquery, I am a little unsure on how to achieve this result, especially while using a php class.     When I use Application Loader, I get to the point where it asks me to "Choose..." the file to be uploaded. If I understand correctly, it supposes to be the appName.app file I see under "Products" on my app bundle (I right click it and select "Show in Finder" to get to the specific file in library; then I'm supposed to ZIP it and the ZIP file is what I will choose in Application Loader). First, am I correct with this assumption? if yes... What should I define different in XCode than the way I used to build the application for testing (on simulator and on my personal iPhone)? Should I change the Info---Command-line build use from Debug to Release? How should I define the Build Settings---Code Signing section (in which field should I select the "iPhone Developer" option and in which should it be "iPhone Distribution")? Are there any other important Info/Build Settings/p.list/etc... fields I should relate to? any help will be appreciated...

    I have a PHP script that when loaded, check first if it was loaded via a POST, if not if GET['id'] is a number. Now I know I could do this like this: if(isset($_GET['id']) AND isNum($_GET['id'])) { ... } function isNum($data) { $data = sanitize($data); if ( ctype_digit($data) ) { return true; } else { return false; } } But I would like to do it this way: if(isNum($_GET['id'])) { ... } function isNum($data) { if ( isset($data) ) { $data = sanitize($data); if ( ctype_digit($data) ) { return true; } else { return false; } } else { return false; } } When I try it this way, if $_GET['id'] isn't set, I get a warning of undefined index: id... It's like as soon as I put my $_GET['id'] within my function call, it sends a warning... Even though my function will check if that var is set or not... Is there another way to do what I want to do, or am I forced to always check isset then add my other requirements..??

    I am working on a web application in PHP. I have a singleton class called registry. This class will hold all the objects i need throughout my application, such as loader classes, template classes, database, classes, etc. When an object of the registry class is created I send it an array with the classes it need to load: // Create the registry $registry = registry::singleton(); // Store those core objects $registry->storeObjects(Array('session','db','page','template','errors')); In this example I only put some of the classes, to get the basic idea. Now I have some classes in the registry that use each other. For example the 'errors' object uses the 'page' object. Now I was wondering if it is a good practice to make an instance of the registry object in the errors object. Like this; class errors{ private $registry; public function __construct(){ $this->registry = registry::singleton(); } } So there is an instance of the registry object, inside an object of the registry object. This does not sound like a good idea to me. Anyone have a suggestion how to model such a thing?

I need to deploy this on a remote WL server (v10.3.3.0), and test it from a local machine.
